- Here Hai is a Michelin recommended restaurant in Bangkok’s Ekamai district and famous for their massive ‘Insane Thai Crab Fried Rice’. I headed down there today to check out the khao pad pu as well as their other most popular dishes.
Here Hai isn’t cheap, these are definitely not regular Thai street food prices in Bangkok. That being Said, I didn’t feel in anyway over charged as the sheer amount of crab meat in the crab fried rice made the prices seem almost reasonable!
Now I must stress that I couldn’t care less about the Michelin guide for Thai food, all I care about is good food which this is. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you’ve been to Here Hai.

Stir Fried Cabbage (great dish!) : 80 THB - £1.85 / $2.55
It was all great to be honest but the Pad Galam Pli Nam Pla (Stir Fried Cabbage in Fish Sauce) here is insanely good. What they’ve managed to do with a humble cabbage is nothing short of remarkable.
If you’re in the area, I would definitely recommend checking Here Hai out. I also feel that it’s a great place to take guests to try real authentic Thai street food in a ‘safe’ setting.

I love your videos and I am American.
Tried it yesterday. We don’t see what to write home about besides the big clumps of crab. The only dish we liked was the cabbage. Not worth the over an hour wait. I noticed that mostly tourists go to this place. In our humble opinion, the non Michillin guide places are the best. We learned that places that have the locals frequent are the best.
Sorry you didn't enjoy it. I went during Covid so I didn't queue. I'd never queue to get into any restaurant in Bangkok myself. If you want decent local food in Bangkok I suggest getting out of Sukhumvit completely and heading over to Thonburi

It’s so hard to find good fried rice in the city. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced most of the popular places and it’s been mediocre at best. How can you tell when the crab is fresh and authentic via takeaway? I LOVE the seafood sauce!
Yeah I agree, some of the famous places aren’t the best. This place is great but it’s very pricey so you’d have to love fried rice to come here! I think you have to know the owners to know if it’s fresh! Seafood sauce is the BEST
@@theroamingcook Love that response and it’s 100% true! I personally don’t eat anywhere that I haven’t cultivated a relationship with the staff or owner. I can be a picky eater sometimes. I feel special when they know exactly how to prepare my food or throw in a little gossip when I don’t want it too spicy. Lol 😂
