FFS! You couldn’t write it!! Sorry to hear Mandy is in hospital, it’s the last thing she needs. As you say it’s quite ironic that you have literally swapped places with Tash & John. Not great about the van either but you can worry about that once Mandy is well. Look after yourself and each other xx

Have just been through this with my mum. She was in hospital for 9 weeks in the end, she got a second infection though. The initial infection/sepsis took about 3 weeks of antibiotics to sort out. It's a slog for everyone to get through and incredibly tiring. We are in Devon and I hope your hospital experience is better. I assume you might be in either the same hospital we were or the next one down in Cornwall. Everywhere is stretched so thin it was hard work just on that front. It's a lot to recover from.

wishing mandy a speedy recovery,following a broken hip operation i had sepsis with high temperatures and all that goes with it but i was in good hands and before long i was out and on the mend ,shes in the best place and we all know Mandy's a battler and she will beat this latest setback ,best wishes to you both

Sending positive thoughts for Mandy. My Dad had 99% sepsis at the age of 88 last year and survived against all the odds. Mandy sounds like a fighter and a positive person. Two ingredients to survive. Please pass on my regards. Howard

Hi John sorry to hear your news about Mandy and Sepsis. Was in a situation like this myself 2 years ago when returning to the uk from turkey in our motorhome . We were in the french alps near the swiss boarder when i was taken into the local hospital after 2 weeks in the itu my partner had to arrange a private air ambulance at our own cost to get us back to the uk .Where i spent another 2 months in Royal Stoke hospital . Am sad to say a lot of head scratching by the medics and a large amount of iv antibiotics an operation i returned to the outside world . The whole experience has had a physical and emotional effect on both of us . Life is not the same and our goals have changed but its still a good life just not the one we had planned .There was talk of wheel chairs etc but with time i can walk again . i am sure with Mandy s mindset she can get the most out of life . Dont loose hope take it one day at a time with luck you will both be on the road together soon but one van might be the best option for a while. From what i have read and experienced about Sepsis is that there is no roadmap each experience is unique from complete recovery to not being here at all . Best wishes to both of you and anyone else on the same journey

I had hoped things had got better but look at is this way Mandy you and I are a rare breed and we are here to test the skill of the medics. Been following you both (vlogs that is )from afar for the past year. Oh dear how awful this all is for Mandy and yourself too. Wishing Mandy the speediest of recoveries so she can be back enjoying Vanlife very soon. My partner and i are of similar age and time in our life as are you two where we hope to enjoy travel, do lots ,make plans and spending lots of time together. She too is a cancer survivor twice over now and what a battler to boot (breast and bowel) We live together now and support each other through thick and thin - ggod times and bad times day by day and have to be sensible in our future travel plans as she needs ongoing monthly hospital visits for blood test and injections . Most important thing right now is Mandy having your loving support and benefitting the best treatment and care available via NHS. Its also vital you are being supported John from your channel of network of friends and family. Chin up mate and always make the most of every day. Makes my shitty painful shingles over past 6 weeks and still rearing its ugly head lots for some more weeks to come due to spasmodic nerve endings pain and crazy lack of sleep and temporarily housebound feel like a touch of flu in comparison. Finally hope you get your van engine sorted soon too. Regards Gray

So sorry to hear Mandy has sepsis , I had hysterectomy few yrs back and somehow got a Hematoma bleed then infection septic throughout , intensive care as organs started to fail , after wks in hospital .IV antibiotics and all that goes with infection I started to feel better , it really takes it out of you but Mandy is a fighter she will get over this setback ,our thoughts are with you both , jo and Nick , Supernanjo x🤗🤗

Must been a difficult video to make, thoughts are with you both stay positive, way you explained how Mandy was feeling I can understand this fully as I have a stomach issue that has given me sepsis 4 times now and I spent days In hospital, as she has inner strength im sure she be okay. You must look after yourself too John take step by step x🙏

It's quite common, my dad had a few neutropenic fevers (totally out of it) from the chemo. It was during the early part of Covid so we did not want to goto the hospital as all they were doing was ending life then. antibiotics sorted it though.
So sorry to hear Mandy is in hospital. I hope she is soon on the road to recovery and back on the road. Not good news about your van John. Really is a crap time for you both at the moment. My missus had a terrible event during her chemo. She was delirious, high as a kite and had to have emergency treatment. It was put down to a bug, but It was a raging temperature and making no sense. Thankfully, she doesn't remember much of it. But she came through it and is 13 years clear, now. Best of luck to you both. I'll be thinking of you.
