- Pēteris Vasks Strings is available on SINE now. www.orchestraltools.com/store...
In the first part of our official walkthrough, we take a deep dive into the plethora of articulations, sounds, and gestures provided in the ensembles of Pēteris Vasks Strings.
Our new collection is inspired and guided by Pēteris Vasks’ Voices, a fully-detailed chamber string ensemble complete with violins, violas, celli, and basses: Small sections and first chair soloists.
Working directly with Vasks, we recorded small sections and first chair soloists from Sinfonietta Riga at St John’s church in Riga, Latvia.
And the results are breathtaking: A fully-detailed chamber ensemble with a unique character and color. Like the music that inspired them, these strings organically fuse dissonance and beauty to inspire you and your compositions.
Pēteris Vasks Strings is available to download. And we’re running a special introductory price offer of €449 + VAT (regular €549).

It sounds lovely. I think this, Salu and Tallinn are all stunning libraries. So pleased OT are making these - please keep going! :)
I've been waiting for Walkthrough. Thanks
Hope you enjoyed it!
I’m so looking forward to this! Chamber sound is so hard to nail.
2:16 - 2:29 good lord these sound stunning.
Definitly a buy for me , I'ts such a beautiful character chamber ensemble
Thank you so much!
Stunning!! 🌟
So inspiring! 😮
Beautiful library!
These Strings can be very useful for Lifely Cinematic Orchestra. I love this sounds. I hope one day I'll buy this awesome product.
Incredible.
🤩🤩🤩🤩 incredible ! 🤩🤩🤩
Even without hearing the first chairs this is shaping up to be an absolutely stunning modern string library. But did this gentleman really say "sul taste-o"?! How the hell did that get through Orchestral Tools' quality control?
He's done that since time itself began 😂
This is so realistic you can sul-taste o the strings
Wow buying it now
The demo at 18:08 reminds me a lot of ThanksAT from Attack on Titan. Nice sounding library!
Amazing!!
Thanks!!
Really sounds inspiring. Incredible work!
Thanks a lot!
Given the prevalent major issues with legato transitions in string libraries, I'd love to hear demos other than long pad chords. Finger Tremolo? That's called a trill. As for using mutes for lowest dynamic layer.... er, so it morphs between a con sord sound and a natural sound based on dynamic? Are they crazy? Seems something to avoid.
Finger Tremolo are played with the quicker bow strokes to the point of not being measured in what you would hear from general tremolo playing compared to trills.
@@ryanharrison3118 this is completely false. I play violin in orchestras for many years. Finger tremolo might be a trill but it’s certainly not bowed. Frankly nobody talks about finger tremolo. Maybe it’s a trill where the interval is greater than a 2nd.
@@adriendecroy7254 I does say minor 3rds to 4ths your right, but it sounds closer to tremolo playing (quick bow strokes) than typical trills to my ears. Maybe we can call them tremolo trills (even if it's not an official term).
@@ryanharrison3118 ok, yeah I can understand. If it sounds bowed, then I would call it just tremolo, or maybe interval tremolo. I don't know if there's an official term, and such things can vary by country anyway. I've just never heard the term in 40 years orchestral violin playing. Gosh that statement makes me feel old.
18:35 Spot
5m52s squeak! 6m32s squeak!
Unfortunately still not there yet... Seems like we hit a wall with orchestral sample libraries
It’s already there, maybe your music sucks.
It’s 2023, sampled libraries are completely there. 😂You’re full of shit.
What does this mean?
