Ben is spot on. When Congress has a 16% approval rating and we re-elect them at a 90+% rate, we get exactly what we as a people deserve. People constantly call for term limits. My counter is we have them: they’re called elections.
But term limits would stop them from staying in power forever.
That just shows a very clear misunderstanding of that math. The 16% approval rating represents how Americans feel about the whole body of Congress. Obviously, if a specific district's approval rating of their representative was 16%, that representative would lose their election. People don't have a problem with THEIR representative, they have a problem with the opposition party, to the extent they themselves align with one party or the other. And since both sides hate each other, you end up with basically everybody hating the collective body, but only because of one side.
What good are elections when the cheating is a s bad as it is?
I understand the math. But if you think everyone else’s representative or Senator is the issue, then you’re the problem.

Did you know that you can very easily download the medical report from Biden's February examination at Walter Reed National Military Center in Bethesda? When I became aware of this, I was able to get it very easily. I was expecting to have to jump through hoops. And it reads just like the reports I read every day at work.
It included his med list which is benign. No heavy meds.
BUT. And this is important.
Biden dodged The Draft 5 times for "asthma".
In the February report, there is NO mention of asthma. NOR in the PMH. Past Medical History. The report lists NO "pulmonary" issues and very specifically, "Lungs clear".
I have over 40 years (still working) in medical practice. Most of that in geriatrics. I have NEVER known of anyone with a diagnosis of asthma bad enough to excuse military duty, that was miraculously "healed" in their later years. In fact, it's the opposite. Those patients are on a daily medication and treatment regimen with PRN rescue meds/treatments. Their lungs are rarely "clear".
Not even a mention of the possible need for a "rescue" inhaler.

I was today years old when I realized how politicians keep getting elected: the average person doesn't pay attention to what they say and do, and instead the media gives little clips that the 'more informed than your average person' watches for 15 secs on the nightly news. While the vast majority are fed their opinions through their tv show celebrities, movie star statements and general vibe in the entertainment media.

Yesterday's Garland hearing had some heated exchanges.
I will give you that there are differences in how the fights go. NOT ALWAYS, but usually.
Men attack each other's intelligence, with an occasional physical jab.
Women attack each other's appearance with an occasional intelligence jab.
I repeat NOT ALWAYS.
I've also noticed that these behaviors are starting to blend.

I am a white, I guess I got screwed. I do not know anyone that has their parents making a meaningful down payment on their homes. I do know one younger couple that asked for something in lieu of wedding presents towards a house. What world is she living in? I know some people that left their house to the kids when they died. Was this something that was popular 50+ years ago?
This is a perfect example of why women don't even need to be in politics.

We got one in my Dem gerrymandered district that we’ll never get out. Last one was there 30 years.
First, we had a Congresswoman who think the moon is made of gas and now we have congresswoman having cat fights in the middle of a committee hearing.

As a conservative, Ben is completely wrong about marijuana and continues to be wrong on it.
Dude has a "Best Dad Ever" sign on his desk, clearly finds fulfillment in being a father, and despises the man who says it's okay for women to find fulfillment in being a mother. Now that seems pretty sexist to me.

Giving them the right to VOTE was a bad idea in the first place, but then someone said "hold my beer, I'll vote for THEM to be my CONGRESSMAN!"
Nobody is taking out home equity lines of credit to make a down payment for their kid to buy a house. What a crock!!
