- I would love to see another Wii Sports game on the Nintendo Switch, but sadly it doesn't seem like that will ever happen. So I decided to imagine my own version, Switch Sports Resort! My ideas definitely aren't perfect, but this game would be pretty awesome if it actually existed. Thanks for watching!

Wuhu island has so much potential, and just imaging it with better quality and all your ideas makes me so happy. This would be my favourite game ever!
They did, it became a couple of go kart tracks and an arena in Mario Kart 7 and it became a battle arena in Smash.

I would love a true sequel to Resort, with HD graphics, improved models, textures, and lighting, day night cycles, bloom, post processing, more Wuhu Island and more locations to explore with the plane, I would love to be able to fly around landmarks and other islands and stuff like that. They could add more sports, and enhance the controls to use the Joycons. It might be cool to see an open world environment where you can travel all across the island with a variety of travel methods other than just walking, but I think a menu should still be an option, however by walking around you would get to experience dialogue and see animations from the Miis, there should be a reason to explore, maybe even having items to collect.
Switch Sports just got announced but I was shocked when I first saw footage of it, it looks way worse than Resort in terms of style, it’s got these weird knockoff Miis instead of real ones, and the art style seriously reminds me of Mario Tennis Ultra Smash and not in a good way, it just feels kinda strange. It doesn’t feel like a sequel to Resort, it feels like some odd Knockofff or Off-brand and it’s lacking a bunch of personality. I’m sure when it’s finished it will be better, but for now I’m far from excited.
Nintendo made a terrible mistake in putting in these lame childish avatars in the new switch sports game. Fans wanted the new Wii sports sequel but not with new generic avatars

I embarked on my journey to beat Lucia for the first time ever this week. Too many hours spent. I literally went from 5-1, to getting destroyed 5-7. But did beat her in a duce yesterday.

Nice to see the "Go Vacation" references included! As the father of a teenager, I played countless hours of Wii games with my daughter after we bought a Wii when she was younger, and Go Vacation as well as Wii Sports Resort stand out as our favorites. The ability to free roam the vacation areas, explore easter eggs, etc, honestly made "Go Vacation" my favorite game played to date. 👍

What made the Wii sports series so charming was its simplicity. Nintendo Switch Sports just looks weird with the new avatars (I think most people will stick with miis). They should have tried to keep it as simple as possible…

Yeah miis we’re one of the main attractions of Wii sports, many miis had a sort of remembrance for many people like Matt in boxing, Sakura in baseball, lucia in table tennis, etc

I think it is a good idea, to play the story of a Champion, but you could do that with everyone of the Champions and have different storys you can play.

At this point it doesn't even feel like a casual resort anymore and more like an Olympic island. I really like the incorporation of so many new sports and I feel that they could do a tie in with the Olympics. Great vid.

That's almost the same what I wanted for a Mii Sports Resort! I would also love to have some "role play" stuff like being able to sit, eat and so on. Also, there should be freediving in Wuhu Island. Would be cool to "register" other Mii characters as NPC's where you can also customize their clothes and preferred sports and so on. Like in GO Vacation, you can also have a Mii or more being your companion and you can do alot with them. Maybe a holding breath contest when swimming? High five? Hugging? And emotes you can do with them, be it on the ground, swimming, underwater or in a vehicle. A SCUBA diving activity would also be nice as it will reward you a SCUBA suit, allowing you to reach deep spots in the water. It would be awesome to freedive with a partner in Wuhu Island and maybe even search for trearues together in SCUBA gear!
Great ideas you got there! I wish Nintendo will realize this in the future, I mean we already got Miitopia (which was a awkward choice since it already was the most recent Mii game), so this might give us some hope!

The open world Wuhu Island and option to hop out of the plane and explore the island on foot is something I've wanted since I was a kid. It was nice to watch a video that lined up so perfectly with my ideal Wii Sports Resort experience.
This is so perfect. Only thing I would change is have the entire open world as servers with maybe a cap of 20 people, so all your friends and you can ride around together on bikes with races around the island, and for the houses everyone has a slot in the village by the wind farms and you can visit your friends
That would have to be a separate option because not everyone has Nintendo online
Or if the mii s on your console had a specific house on the same island and they would appear as NPCs when they weren’t on split screen and they could tag along in the open world

hero, this is such a fantastic video!!! so many great ideas, and you pitched them in a manner that all seemed so believable and easy to imagine. wii sports resort and especially wuhu island are two things that are extremely close to my heart, and it's so great to find a creator who feels the same way. the idea of being able to explore a fully realized, hd beautiful wuhu is honestly one of my biggest dreams in gaming, and the way you integrated that + unique ideas for how the sports/sports elements can be combined with that concept honestly had me so overtaken with positive emotion i had to pause the video and smile sometimes, as silly as that sounds. i really, really hope nintendo makes anything like this in the future. i'm really not a fan of switch sports, but im not giving up hope yet--after all, its very existence paves the way for the possibility of a switch sports like this to exist. i just want wuhu island, my comfort place that doesn't really exist, to make its return. thank you so much for making so many wii sports related videos, and if you read this have a great day!!! you've earned a new sub :)

I think a currency system would be cool too. You could buy clothes, houses, pets, other customization items, and maybe even food. The currency shouldn’t limit what you can do just make certain things easier.
I also think that the way to earn money in the game is to win games sports. For example, 1 win in boxing gets you $5.

I don't think so. When I think of currency in games I think of the messy world of buying the game currency with real money. And it doesn't paint a good picture in the Wii sports world in my opinion.

We all know that Nintendo would never make a timeless game that could be enjoyed by any age/demographic, and have that much detail. They're focusing entirely on pre-teens, subscriptions, and ingame purchases now. Cool video, wish this was a real thing (or.. if Nintendo Switch Sports was never released)

This would be an AMAZING successor to the Wii Sports series! I love the open-world concept, the customization sounds great, and everything else fits well too! Really hope Nintendo makes a Switch Sports Resort game someday...

I would add in a few things!
1) make the island a bit larger. I don't mean add loads to it, just make the physical island larger, because it is open world, so the island shouldn't be too small.
2) 'seasonal' games. I don't think there should be different seasons on the island, but for us, they could introduce some challenges/opportunities for each time of year like a Wuhu festival with special rewards.
3) community upgrades. with points or money or whatever that you win from each game, you could upgrade parts of the island and town, with changes to the interior or exterior of buildings, a bigger dock, stuff like that.
4) daily challenges. make the player take part in very specific events with very specific goals in order to win special rewards.
and the final suggestion isn't something that's very likely, but I would enjoy it: some kind of Grand Prix event where you take part in a motor race around the island.
This NEEDS to exist or I'm gonna go insane.
If I had to give a recommendation on how the soccer controls would work, I would say make them like they were in Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic games.

If I were to make this game, I’d do away with the sports menu and replace it with a map that has marked fast travel locations for each sport. At first the map would be blank, which would encourage the player travel to travel to each destination in person. The player would be able to travel on foot, or by renting a bicycle/car. After winning one match, the fast travel option for that sport would become available on the map.
In order to unlock vehicles, players would have to save up winnings from their matches, or they could win the vehicle as a prize for beating the grand champion of a sport. For example, the prize for beating the GC of Dog Fights would be a plane. The prize for beating the GC of Jet Skiing would be a jet ski. The grand prize for beating the GC of other sports could be various types of cars. By default, the vehicles would be stored in public locations, but the player would have the opportunity to buy/unlock private locations for them. They would also be able to call someone to bring their vehicle to the player’s location (kinda like the mechanic in GTA 5).
When the player first arrives on Wuhu island, they would be staying in a small room at the Cocoba Hotel. They would be able to unlock larger apartments or houses by either saving up their winnings, or beating the GC’s of certain sports. I think that the available residences should include apartments in Wuhu town, cabins, Summerset Castle, a private island vacation house, a yacht, and more. These locations would also have the fast travel option after visiting for the first time. Finally, they would have vehicle accommodations such as garages, docks, etc where applicable.
In order to travel between islands, the player would have several options. They could take a ferry, rent a watercraft, take a canoe, use one of their own boats/planes, or even swim if they have the patience to do that.
I’d like this game to have any sport that could reasonably fit on Wuhu island. It would be cool to have some extra content on top of what we got in Wii Sports Resort as long as the venue doesn’t have too large of a footprint.
I think that everything should be customizable including the paint color of homes/ vehicles, the clothes on the player, home decorations, and more. This last part might be a bit of a stretch so I wouldn’t be disappointed if some features didn’t make the cut.
If a game like this existed, I’d sell my soul to have it lmao. Let me know if you have any other ideas.

For the soccer minigame, I would have a personally easier time imagining it as having joystick controls rather than motion controls, because if you are only implementing passing and shooting mechanics, you can simply tilt the joystick in the desired direction. However, for physical controls, the only way I can imagine it being a remotely active activity would be if it were to be modified from typical soccer sort of like the basketball pickup game. While I don't currently have any ideas as to how the controls would operate at this current moment, I'd be glad to hear your ideas in the comments!

The wii was the first game system I ever got, and when I got it for Christmas when I was 4 along with wii sports as my first game, I played it every day for years. I so want some kind of new version of it just like this

Oh man. Nostalgia hitting hard. I loved Wuhu Island when i was a kid. Some months ago i sold my switch because i didnt feel the same fun and enjoyment as in the old wii times but when Switch Sports Resort would be announced as you presented it i would buy a new Switch and that gane instantly. I ve always loved to fly over that island and visit all the I-Points, always loved the setting, the happiness and the vacation feeling when playing in Wii Sports Resort. I also loved the competetive feeling in basketball and table tennis. A multiplayer compatibility would improve that game also. We need some people working at Nintendo trieing to send this video/concept to their bosses :DDD
