Patrick was magnificent. One of Columbo’s absolute greatest adversaries.
Definitely some of the best
@@ianmangham4570 My favourite Columbo episodes are By Dawn's Early Light and Identity Crisis.
@@verkaforever Both are excellent 👍
He always looks completely different too
@@richspeck8932 True. My favorite episode was "By Dawn's Early Light".
"Make yourself at home" he says to a detective sitting in a hearse who he wants to die.
Peter Falk and Partick McGoohan are displaying their brillant actorate skills both......Thanks.
"You see, inspector, the problem with Scotland is that it is full of Scots..."
I couldn’t place his voice, thank you.
I agree with the above commenter! Thank you! I was trying to remember where I recognised him from.
Haha lol, longshanks
"Empty as a tomb"
Back in 1975 Patrick McGoohan played a CIA spy called Nelson Bremer in "Identity Crisis". I saw that episode earlier today, and when he disguised himself as "Mr Steinmetz" in it to commit a murder, he looks very like what he does in this episode.
i think it was done intensionally
Minor correction. He didn't disguise himself to commit a murder. He purposely rigged the car to not kill the witness. He needed someone alive to tell the police he had met with him.
@@rsaadk but it was done years in advance and still proved accurate, a testament to the artist from the original run of course
… who was the man himself 🙏
Ah steinmetz, old steinmetz Ha ha 😂 👍💯
This episode has some of the greatest banter in the whole columbo series.
absolutely the best scenes between them :]
“Who is this who speaks as if I needed his advice?” Then out the window he went. Lol
The face columbo makes when he knows someone is making up things XD
Don!t you love that sneaky little smile. When he has got a clue.
Steinmetz plays a clever man caught lying so convincingly. And Lieutenant plays a cat smiling cuz he saw the rat get in the trap. Meow.
Eric Prince, Adrian Carsini, Wade Anders…when a _Columbo_ villain is being named Man of the Year in their industry, it’s the best day and the worst day of their life!
Two masters of the entertainment industry at one of their peaks. I recently saw Patrick McGoohan in 1968's ICE STATION ZEBRA.
Love that movie. Don't make them like that anymore! Had intermission to use restroom and popcorn refueling. Fantastic movie score!
McGoohan , needed money to finance the PRISONER , so he took a quick break to make ICE STATION ZEBRA and then went back to the Prisoner series well in the works.
"Empty as a tomb."
...Tombs are LITERALLY the places where you store dead bodies, though...
The irony was not lost on both men I reckon.
It was always a treat when Patrick was back for another episode.
"Make yourself at home"??
Sir, one more thing.
0:20, can a long time homicide detective be really intrigued over whether there is a dead body in the coffin?
R I P Sir We love you
Edward the Longshanks is the more ruthless King that ever sat on the throne of England.
Columbo looks him in the eye, with his eye and says "...something just struck me..." The victim was struck violently. 😉
The "make yourself at home!" quip .... IN A HEARSE! is pure gold! I wonder if that was scripted!
Make yourself at home. Lol.
I’m DYING to find out what happened at the morgue...
...loved him in braveheart...
Edward the long shanks!
So the window is down when Columbo gets in then next camera shot inside car... it's quite and window is up.
Lol I love me some Columbo but I clicked for the title, and with Longshanks no less!
Patrick was an brilliant actor.
Be seeing you...
I love Columbo
The famous scream of Mel Gibson in the movie "brave heart "..killed him....
He is tied with Robert Culp for most guest star episodes right?
Sharpo Actually he has the record - 4! Culp and Cassidy had 3, Shatner and Hamilton 2.
@@jebprendergast101 Culp had 3 appearances as murderer and 1 more appearance as a non-murderer, making it 4 in total. McGoohan had 4 appearances as the murderer.
Patrick McGoohan, un génie ❤🙏
Love ❤️ struck. & Further Moore
"Empty as a tomb"
Uhh...
So what the thought of Columbo saying "...something just struck me..."
Great friends in real life.
Longshanks!?
Let's save some time and just film the scene in a hearse...
Interesting to see what Longshanks did before he became king
I guess PF preferred Cassidy
This is actually from season 13 ep 3 in 1998 not season 10

Little known fact is that the Columbus part was first offered to Bing Crosby and his partner Bob Hope from the Rode to Zanzibar show. They rode a camel I think 1619 BLM Juneteenth

Spoiler Alert beware of reading...When Dorothy Paige's body arrived at the mortuary
Mr. Haviland took the diamond necklace and put it in her mouth and then proceeded to put her in the crematorium that is why the police never found the diamond necklace on his property. Diamonds don't burn and thus Mr. Haviland got to keep them. I remember watching this late September or early October 1998, was a nice time in my life.
RADIUM CLOCK -You might want to put a spoiler alert in your comment.
Diamonds burn
61gisele Where did you get your info? The nazi ‘crematoria’ were very small. In fact, too small to have cremated 3m jews.
The Columbo episodes from the 70's were great.....the episodes from the 80's and 90's SUCK!!
A bad columbo episode is still better then most other shows
Columbo Likes the Nightlife was one of the best episodes in the series.
Columbo Cries Wolf was pretty good and that was from 1990.
Agreed. The 70s episodes seemed to have more style.
