  • The popular Peugeot 2008 has gotten a mid-life facelift to keep it up to date, with new bits and bobs like a meaner-looking grille and the addition of a sporty new GT-Line trim.
Similar to the 208 supermini on which it’s based, GT-Line adds a flurry of attractive black details, making it probably one of the best-looking crossovers on sale. How does it compare against rivals?
In this review, we take an in-depth look at the interior of the Peugeot 2008 including its boot size, dashboard and back seats. We then run through performance, price and finish up with the all-important verdict - is the Peugeot 2008 a good car?
Constantly updated, Car Keys provides first-hand video reviews, as well as all of the latest car news.

Peugeot is definitely going to rule especially on the 2017 edition of 3008 and 5008. Keep it up Peugeot......best of luck from Nigeria.

I went to Perry's in Farlington, Portsmouth, to see if a road test would confirm the research I had done on the 2008, and to see how it compared with the 3008. Firstly: very impressed with the Peugeot salesman, Alex, right through the whole visit. Next it was quickly obvious that, although the 3008 suited my "I want" target, the 2008 is more than enough for my "I need" target. The 3008 is more car than I will ever need, and the 2008 is every bit as convincing as an affordable quality vehicle. When we were a family of five the 3008 would have been a good idea, now that our kids have all started their own families the 2008 is the right choice.
I was ready to have a drive in a very, very convincing, sufficiently roomy, well designed and well made car... So convincing that after driving for at most 10 minutes I told Alex that I had seen all I wanted to see, and that we could go back to the showroom to look at the finance deals that were available. The 2008 is one of the easiest cars to "learn", if not THE easiest car to "learn", that I have ever driven. I have driven dozens of different cars, (maybe hundreds if one-day rentals count), and the 2008 did everything I expected/wanted it to do with not the slightest hesitation. Alex had chosen a busy suburban route at late afternoon rush-hour, exactly the sort of driving I do the most, but a few miles of motorway and a bit of country lane showed how useful the car would be in all plausible potential circumstances.
Alex had had my car, a Mercedes SLK, (great fun, but about as practical as a lace battleship) appraised for part exchange, and put together a "just add fuel" deal which was, and still is, just perfect for me. A signature, a tiny deposit, and home I went, as happy as could be. I chose the GT-Line trim: it makes financial sense if you add useful extras like sat-nav, automatic climate control to the price with the Allure trim. The GT-Line trim also offers some aesthetic "tweaks" which will help me survive my wife's reaction when she sees me turn up with "another new car!!!" (In fact there is no doubt whatsoever that my wife will love being in the 2008, and that a few minutes at the wheel will banish any dark thoughts she may have about the way I proceeded. It is a cracking and very confortable car, from both the driver's and a passenger's perspective.)
Several days later I am still perfectly happy. Alex is just one member of a first class team. I have had a few conversations with him and his manager about colour choices, and I still feel I am truly a valued client, with absolutely no hint that somehow, having signed up, I was no longer of any interest to the sales team.
More when our 2008 will have been with us for a few weeks.

      Hello mate,
I just got good deal, I think, for 2008 1,2 83hp with signature equipment, emerald green. I loved the test drive, and even though people have told me that this engine is not that great and powerful, I don't think I need more. Have 2 small kids and I'm on 'better safe than fast' line.
The car is 13000 euro. Made in 2019, and have even more stuff inside than normal (rear camera, and so...)
      Suits my needs.
But, is there a reason not to get it?
      Thanks

It looks like a good car it looks like it's been well designed and well built but I do think the three cylinder engine might be its Achilles heel with a few miles on it so I would say the diesel would be the way to go if you're planning on keeping it longer than three years . Cheers Phil

Never been a fan of the Peugeot interior. I hate to say it but I actually like this one, although it's a shame you have to jump up to the GT-Line trim to get anything with a bit of style though.

I don’t like how all these reviews seem to be of the top spec models; the entry level model is far more important/relevant given the price range/s

Although the 2008 performs quite well, you're right it is definitely let down by its high price and blandness. There's definitely better crossovers on the market.
      Thanks Robert.
