$412 at my local hobby shop. NOPE. I asked the guy why is the price that high, and he said the sellers are demanding more, so he has to ask more. I called bs...
He's kinda telling the truth...they should've got their 1st batch at about $179( cdn)..but to restock after selling his 1st batch will be $360+..

@@kevinoneil74 hobby shops pre order them from Upper Deck months before hobby shops get them....I know this because my hobby shop guy told me what he paid..he also told me they were very limited on how many cases they could preorder...
I hit mcging and lohrei in my 5 box which I killed the case odds on everything, literally everything in 5 boxes. The box with the tell cards were lohrei and mcging I pulled a gold kukonen and lohrei was a starburst even being an 8 young guns box the double starburst cost me my bedard. At least kahkonen went to a bigger buying market
Zeeree, your box 5 with Bedard had the same YGs as mine. Looks like UD still can't truly randomize their boxes. Like you, I had Merela, Silovs, Lohrei, and Ludvig (except they shorted me on YG #6)

That first box of this break was pretty impressive. I guess it had to balance out the third box. Still, some nice stuff all around. Have fun sorting all of that.

I got swept up in the hype and bought like boxes of this series 2. Hoping I could sit in them and they’d go up in value. They’re just randoms. Now I realize people will think they’re from cases where Bedard was found. Rookie move! What should i do with these??? Just hang onto them and hope the hype comes back someday?
Save the receipt. At least that way you can reasonably prove they're not just spare parts from a picked over case. Plus even if you do pull both Bedard YG's early, there still could be something special in the back end of the case, the Gold Outburst Bedard perhaps?

Crazy a case is going for 4K right now. If you pulled 2 bedard yg and his silver outburst. You might not even break even with the case. What has happened to this hobby? Then next year the prices of the products will tank.
24k is shilled value, for the red outburst and the buyer probably never paid when they won the auction
I dunno. I disagree. Outburst Red /25 are generally around 25-30x a regular YG value. It seems to have fallen pretty close into that price range if you have Bedards at $850 ish. It’s a big card. Any numbered Bedard is huge.

…I beat the odds and got none in a case. Only time in the last five years my case didn’t produce a full set of YG. I’m missing Bedard and some other dork that doesn’t matter.

UD is making collecting to expensive for the casual collector. I really wanted to join the bedard hunt but i cant afford it. $300+ for a hobby box is ridiculous. And i was really looking forward to pre-ordering SPA for this year but at $500 a box PRE-ORDER is absolutely insane. Thats almost a week paycheck for most people around my area. So until its affordable again, which i doubt it ever will be, ill keep watching zeeree rip open boxes and soak in my own depression because i cant rip any. Hope you all the best zeeree and hopefully you pull some big variations of bedard

yeah, the prices for this year stuff is getting crazy expensive. Nobody can really blame upperdeck. It’s really the collector’s fault. If you think about what’s happened in the past few years, where people with a lot of money got into the hobby and the growth of breakers in the past few years that’s what basically screwed over the common collector. it takes this fun, hobby that a lot of people could kind of afford and throws it into an arena of people that have tons of money where it turns into an investment thing and that’s never what it was about and it should not be. If you’ve been collecting for any length of time, you know that it’s not about investing. Most times you buy cards you lose out it’s a hobby. That’s all it is. People spend tons of money on their hobbies not ever expecting to get the money back out of it. There’s a really good episode on the Hockey Cards Gongshow, which is a podcast. I’ve started listening to that has taught me a lot about the hobby. There was one episode a few weeks back where they talked about how the high prices of series 2 could have some bad impacts for the hobby in the future. I mean really just go look at basketball and soccer, those prices are ridiculous. Who the hell actually thinks they’re going to spend $700 on a box and get that value out of it. I would pretty much say that that hobby is turned upside down, kind of like the housing market, so just be happy that our hobby or part of it at least isn’t in that situation at least not yet. A few weeks ago I bought some 21-22 products for like super cheap couple boxes of allure, a box of SPX, a few boxes of metal universe, and I totally still hit the lottery with those boxes, pulled some amazing stuff, some of the best cards of my whole life and I’ve been collecting since the 90s so that’s saying a lot. I hit a Sidney Crosby PMG green, out of the box of SPX. I hit a Nathan McKinnon obsidian patch. 1/5. and just today I bought the last box of allure that my local shop had and for the first time in my life I hit a purple diamond card, it was an Alex new hook, purple, diamond autograph card 7/10 so I’m pretty happy with how my collecting is going this year.
MVP and O Pee Chee are for the casual collector....next year's batch, they'll both be cheap
