I think blasters maybe the way to go…I remember trying to hit a caufield and zegras and 4 hobby boxes didn’t land me 1…3 blasters did…it’s always a gamble…sometimes we win sometimes we lose
Opened 3 $1100 Cad and got a clear cut Raphael lavoie couple matthew poitras canvas and yg some other notables but nothing close to what I paid for the boxes. The gamble is on me I know lol.

2015-16 Upper Deck series 1 Hobby Boxes were $75 Canadian on release. For all formats your odds are way down now and WAY more expensive!
Odds were WAY easier to pull a McDavid than they are to pull a Bedard.
What I have trouble understanding is how sellers on Ebay can presell for $1000 to $2000 a card for Bedard that they don’t actually have in hand…is that not a violation of Ebay’s T&C?
I'm thinking the same thing !!! Plus , you some breakers is cracking 8 cases , and outta what Bedards they get , the presold one will be dinged up and the best condition ones will be kept . Outrageous. Lol.

pulled a Bedard POE today
I snagged a Bedard Young Guns out of a tin today, was the last young guns of the tin. Absolutely stoked!
I opened 10 tins. Cost was $550 total and no shipping. 4 yg/tin and ended up with 40. One dub of Carlsson. One Bedard but it ain’t a 9, and the Bedard/Leo checklist. If you were after base ygs and not the annoying parallel scam then tins were the way to go when they first appeared as a pre-order. I’ve got 5 other tins arriving today from a different supplier.
QC is horrible on the PC insert. 36 of them all with identical surface damage and all from different packs tins. At first I thought I hit an easter egg ovie 79’ OPC parallel to the sparkle - which aren’t damaged
Tins are definitely the way I'll be going, those or the mega boxes if I can find them.
I think it’s pretty rank that they charge that much for this product and can’t even ensure current photography for the set. Unbelievable.

Definitely some quality control issues. Noticed defect in the top right on several cards pulled from tin today includ. YG's Bedard checklist. Others have pointed this out as well.
1 blaster 1 bedard, and i dont believe in the bedard hype at all. Sale setup for tmrw 😂 best $40 i probably ever spent. Gonna buy a lot of awesome singles

Opened 3 boxes today. Pulled Bedard on my VERY FIRST PACK! Also pulled Leo Carlsson, Zach Benson Outburst Silver, Poitras, Voronkov, and Bobby McMann. Got 5 more boxes coming in
What does the Benson look like? i haven't seen it pulled yet, and he's one of my favorite rookies

Pulled a Bedard base YG in my tin today
Opened two boxes that I picked up tonight. They were almost out btw. Pulled a Bedard/Carlsson checklist in one box. And a Bedard UD Portrait,lol. But I also got Fraser Minten,Tye Kartye,Logan Cooley YG Canvas,Connor Zary and a few more of the top young guns. I was stoked as hell to pull the Cooley Canvas YG. Everyone calm down….theres more than just the Bedsy young gun to make this a fun rip. Also pulled an Elvis Merzlikins clear cut AND his Exclusive in the same box 😂
bought the last two blasters at my local target this past week, first pack ended up having bedard. felt real good after watching the guy in front of me at the store purchase 20ish boxes and tins.
As far as QC, my box was pretty good. Only slight issues that are expected (e.g. centering issues that you have to really be looking for).

Picked up a hobby and 4 tins. Tins have a pack of 3 Dazzlers. Got Bedard orange from that. Pulled the YG checklist also 3 Bedard portraits. Pretty decent I thought. Also YG canvas checklist of Hughes and Cooley and a Hughes YG canvas. Pretty bad tho for set builders like me. I didn't even complete the base set. Had 3 double YGs.
Hobby box are around $330 CAN tax in. The cases now are $4000 crazy pricing. Pre order back in the day 1400 for a case.
Yup I'm that lunatic that you read about that preordered a case of O PEE CHEE and Series 2 just sit on in hopes he becomes Connor Mcdavid. But that wasn't good enough because then I ripped some OPC and pulled a CB Riokie Premier Rainbow 01/75 in the last pack of the 144 packs I had. Last pack magic is real boys. I'll probably buy a couple boxes of Series 2 tomorrow just because I do enjoy ripping packs. Happy hunting
How rare are the red outburst to pull for young guns ??
Quality was fine on mine, box cost $250 CAD with tax. Mine was a presale raffle thing. AFAIK I didn't get a wildcard, unless someone can better explain what it means. I got no numbered cards, but if you read it as ANY other "ratio'd" card...then that could just mean 1 extra insert? Which is pretty lame. If that's the cash I'm sure I got some extra thing.
I quite like the Deep Roots and the PC, might try and buy the full sets of those. But the Instinctive and Ecliptic...come on, they're basically the same. The picture I saw was Jason Robertson and the Ecliptic card was green. Every single one I got was blue, so were the Instinctives. I got some sparkle ones of each, but it's really nothing to write home about and the two inserts just look way too similar. Managed to get a Leo Carlsson from my hobby box and a Matt Tompkins, I only mention that one cuz I had 1 blaster as well that had Poitras (thumbs up) annnnnd Matt Tompkins lol. Beat the odds, but got another Tompkins. Oh well. Probably my only 2 purchases unless I find reasonably priced blasters, or tins, I'm not paying $100 for a tin tho so that's unlikely.

Didn’t take long for the price gouging to start did it. And my guess is the larger city card shops bought several cases and doubled their money and I would never buy a box from an open case. To easy to open boxes till you find the case hit and sell the leftovers

And knowing UD there will be a retro FWA of legit every year for Bedard numbered to like a Gazillion like I can’t wait to get a 1776 retro of Bedard
Unfortunately very little upside with this product and UD knows that that's why the hype was tp bedard or bust and this will be very evident when boxes become 375 to 450 on the shelf and it's cost to aquire is out of reach and the yg drops to 500 which it will

Buddy at a local card shop here picked a case serial numbered 99 at end and pulled the exclusive yg bedard out 98/100 numbered to his jersey 🤩. Crazy hope you pull the gold 1/1 man get it !!!!

I went into a Walmart in Ohio and people were scooping the topps series 1 blasters off the shelves and they didn't touch a single series 2 configuration.....the non hockey states (the Jackets don't even count 🤣) are gonna be hot spots for retail!
I was in Florida 2 weeks ago…I didn’t see 1 box of hockey cards, I saw a lot of baseball basketball and football…hockey isn’t popular in a lot of the USA

After Bedard, Carlsson, Benson and Poitras have pretty good upside, the rest are longshots or good prospects that might have good careers, but nothing to get excited about hobby-wise.

I have been collecting since 1977 and i sm telling you right now in 6 months there will be a super sale on for half what it is right now and in a year ill pick up some boxes for $150-175 I promise you stay out of the BS Buying and leave the stupid buying up to the people like the breakers and dr ug dealers and buy in 6 months to a year
I find that hard to believe. A player of his demand will keep boxes at its current price or higher. No way it’s dropping with the way boxes are selling and the demand. 90s boxes that were once 5$ are now 45-50$. There maybe sales, not because there’s no demand but for the product but just to have a sale. If your refering to Lafrenieres year as an example, yes, cuz he flopped. But bedard is a legit phenom. Mcdavids boxes and Crosby boxes through the roof. Even at half the price is still a substantial gain. Key rookie years retain demand

Depends if your a legit seller (window shop or long time online source). Then you can get an ST-4 with your biz id and purchase product for so much less tax free because you’re collecting tax on your sales. To not sell and open or hold them would be fraud, unless you pay for what you open.
