I'm just not convinced Isiah Stewart is really that much better than Arkansas Jalen Williams. He is big and physical, but I think if you got him, he'd play 12-15 minutes a night on average. He's not a starter on the Thunder.
I think they will just keep the existing roster and let things grow. I like that approach. Maybe a good Vet with size that can rebound and shoot like Kelly Olynyk. I was also of the opinion they should move on from Giddey but he looks like he is starting to improve the last few games

The thunder could go multiple ways this season as you said. It would be great to have some vet help for OKC kinda like what Kendrick Perkins and Derrick Fisher were for OKC back in the day. Giddey aside from the allegations has been ok. But I do think the Giddey and SGA thing isn’t working out the best. Giddey will be a good player wherever he goes, but I’m not sure OKC is the place for him, however it’s definitely not a negative to keep him around as he’s a pretty good passer and gotten to be a good defender. OKC needs a true center more than anything, Pascal Siakam would be perfect for OKC if they take the win now route. OKC has all the trade power in the NBA and it’s safe to say for the next decade, trades are gonna run through OKC.
Will be interesting to see how they manage their cap space as i bet these stars will demand star money. Probably the best problem you want with building an NBA team!

In 2021, I literally witness my favorite get destroyed by 73 points loss. 1 hour ago, I was taking a bath and thinking what will happen with this team in the next few years. My conclusion was, Presti will keep those key players. Basically, the starting five. OKC is a small market franchise. Of course, we cannot pay all of them. That is why I think the importance of those draft picks. If we can't keep the other players? trade them. After keeping the starting five, draft some dudes who can be a great help for the team. That is basically another 4 years ROOKIE contract. If this is the plan of Presti, damn, I predicted him💀
The first round picks are sort of use them or lose them. I think what you need is a good player and a value contract. What about if you go after Wendell Carter to help the front court for player and picks and then go after Caruso for the backcourt and championship experience for a player and picks. Both are on great contracts and if Thunder want them, who is going to outbid them with their resources. They spend like 20 million per season and get future control of each for next season.
They literally nail the draft why not just draft players better than Wendell nd Caruso nd do say they can’t they could have a team full of young great players nd just have the world crying about how there whole team could start
@@dolowrld7043that’s not feasable or smart. Young players want playing time to prove themselves. Veterans like Caruso know their role and have experience that young guys don’t have yet. @@accordingtodrew7302 OKC has the assets to do both honestly and I think that's what they do. Push some assets into the future so you have what you think is 1-2 high quality picks with swaps every year, and use the extra assets now to go after a great role player or two. Both Philly and Miami are going to probably want their 2025's back to make big trades soon, so leverage those for 2028/2030 picks, and trade off the 2024 assets for role players.
This year is another draft year they could potentially have 3 1st rd picks this year maybe two in the lottery depending on how the jazz finish or two picks at worst but with Poku and bertans on the way out and maybe Tre Mann might aswell draft two guys to fill those spots especially with the recent draft success in chet jdub jwill and wallace
Id like to see them go after a strong 4 who can rebound well, maybe grab some solid vets as well but other than that I think they have everything they need to go be real threats. Especially with alot of their top contributors being on rookie scale deals they could be a team to watch out for in free agency for the next few years as well
Sam Presti is not gonna touch this team until the off-season and it's right doing so. Maybe he's gonna trade this years picks for other in the future. If they keep a pick tho they should draft a strong rebounding center (mark Williams, Mitchell Robinson type center)
Clint capela would help with their rebounding issues. Wouldn't mind seeing him traded to OKC. I personally feel like they should mostly focus on slightly beefing up the bench. Not by much. Just slightly. Just to keep a balance of sort on the roster for times when the starting lineup can't get things going right away.
My one concern about adding a front court guy is does that diminish J-Dub's impact when he's more of a traditional wing and not a small ball 4 that can blaze past other guys. I'll be interested to see if they keep Lu Dort or try and bring in a defender with more size. In Presti we Trust!
If i could trade id really push for... Giddey + Bertans + Mann + 3 1sts, 1 of them being Utah's, so they control their rebuild. FOR Markkanen + Okynik. Olynik is a perfect 4/5 dirty work low post player who can still fit our offense. And i shouldnt have to detail LM.
@@sadmarinersfan8935 What do you mean "the guy"? Have you even been watching them? He plays identically to us. He never forces trying to make a play, plays off the ball and lets the offense develop, can spot up, can play the post. I dont know man, he plays so similarly to us, its almost like hes an NBA2K created PF just for this OKC. Theres not a single player that fits better.
@@BrettDonaldson-kv6my Why wouldnt i be? Whats changed? Hes had a few good games? Can we resign all 5? Has that changed? No? Do you value what Giddey is starting to do right (could be a blip, who knows) over Dorts better offense and A+ defense? Probably not, right? I know i dont. So whats changed? We're still in the same position no matter how many chickens you want to count before they hatch.
Random silly question .. And i know it would never happen but how many picks persuade san an to trade victor... 10 firsts for victor? Id do it if im okc
All okc needs to do is add a big like Wendle Cater Jr bertans and the 2024 clipper 1st and the 2024 Houstan 1st. Adding WCJ playing Center Chet at the 4 J-Dub at sf Dort and SGA. That oves giddy to the lead guard in the 2nd unit where he can play to his strenths.
what are the qualifiers for him not being an allstar besides too soon? what about Tako Fall or A Bol Bol? size, rebounding, not consistant enough to start but both could be gotten cheap and both have enough juice to squeeze. also both has upside. potential improvement on both. the prospect of postionless twin towers especially w Bol. i see potential . other teams cast off's sometimes pay cheap dividends. it's not like a cheap miss would hurt
This is the same thing they do every year since they got to OKC even with new contracts they can offered any stars they have to draft them and they always do
If the Thunder needs that final piece, it ain't going to be Stew. He is a great backup big. Probably should start over some other guys in the rotation.
I’m thinking a year from now if things ain’t working out for the spurs , okc should go and get Wemby, give up 6-7 picks and 3 players for wemby. Imagine wemby , Shai , and holmgren on his same team
Kinda weird to have Mann’s pic constantly highlighted with the other guys when he’s not a contributing factor to their success. Dort should be the guy to get that spotlight time.
TWO moves I think they should do. I don’t think any major moves should happen this season but I do think they need to fix their rebound/ backup big problem before the playoffs. I think you trade for a guy like Drummond. The bulls should be selling this year and he would provide solid backup mins while helping out rebounding. Then I think you see how the playoffs go and make your Giddey trade in the offseason. I think Lauri will be the best value player and what will complete the thunder starting lineup
Josh giddey for a real power forward would be really good. Jaylen Williams is great but hes more of a shooting guard than a pf. Another 3 point shooting, shot blocker, who can make the next pass guy along side chet.
I think Okc should wait until a star that fits the roster gets tired of its team or the franchise wants to move on from him (Siakam maybe) and not rush things. Also, I don't see how Isaiah Stewart can make this team any better, especially looking at his 60M/4y contract
They've been my favorite team this year, they do get killed on the boards though, and in the playoffs when the refs let the games become a bit more physical they'll have an even harder time with this. Ideally I think they do want a move for a bigger stronger PF so they can slot JDub as the 3 instead of the 4, and then either have Giddey off the bench and around for inbounds scenarios, or move away from him in a trade. I think a move like this will make their defense even better, help them with their rebounding issue, and ideally help on offense too if the new PF is a better 3PT shooter than Giddey.
Giddey needs to go. Even if its just for 2 depth role playing bigs. That would solve the big issue and free up minutes for Cason, Joe, KWill and Micic.
I think you gotta trade giddy and I say u package him with a first for a good piece but don’t sell out I don’t think that style works. The picks can give u cheap depth to have for so many years to come and have a cycle of good young players who can be mentored. The scare there is the young guys don’t develop with so much competition
Pascal siakam / Otto porter jr for Josh giddy / Ousman dieng / pf bench J Williams + salary filler + 1 unprotected first. Pascal and shai are a match up nightmare. You can’t go single coverage on either of them. Otto helps huge for spacing and veteran leadership He’s a high iq player to help guide the young squad. The deal doesn’t hurt okc long term at all. They have so many assets.
I’ll be honest I think their window is going to be shorter than a lot of people imagine. Their young stars are really gonna clog up the cap space with J dub and Chet being max guys. Also Isiaih Joe is paid pennys right now. I see key pieces in their rotation being sniped in free agency that can’t be easily replaced. I think a win now move this season or over the off season is the time to strike. Don’t want to waste this talent like the KD, Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka team.
OKC has got to move some of those draft picks 7 FRP’s in the next 2 years 7 young players are not going to fit on a young roster like this they have to bring in a veteran with those picks
I keep Giddy for now and have him come off the bench to orchestrate the second unit tbh. Yes along Gilgeous he has almost no upside with how his game is but to lead a second unit yes. Trade the picks and get Markenan
credit to J Dubs but I can’t look at him and say “He can be an all star”, he’s the third star, which is already a massive detriment to being an all star unless you were one beforehand like Ray Allen. He can be a top starter, but unless he takes a massive leap, I don’t see it
OKC should learn their lesson with KD WB and harden they should hold their core, I have a feeling if they remove anyone in that core team probably that team will collapse
I think the same thing. Trade giddey for pascal. However pascal going to be a free agent this summer so it would be too risky. And even if you bring him back you won’t be able to give Chet and J-Dub both close to max money after their rookie deals
NBA dynamics are hard. The window for OKC is smaller, than a lot might realize. All it takes is a bigger injury to Chet, SGA or Williams to write off this season. After this season there is only year left to keep the team together as the rookie contracts of Williams, Chet and even Giddey need to be renewed. It's either this season or the next, they're able to both keep their core together and maybe even seek out for a trade for another key player.
Thats fair, but an injury does ruin any team. Even if the Nuggets lose KCP for the season they go from title favorites to probably losing in second round or WCF. There is always the possibility that these guys on OKC take less money to stay in OKC as well. I watch a lot of OKCs post-game interviews, and these all seem like really intelligent dudes who are more about winning than anything else.
@@ThunderPhant Haven't followed OKC that closely myself, but i have admired them for some time as the most exiting team in the league with huge potential. They're still sitting upon the biggest reserve of furure 1st round picks out of all teams. Considering the structure of current CBA making it harder for any team to hold on to their young players of real talent, i do kinda think that this would be the perfect time to cash in for some of the future assets and make a real push for these two seasons ahead.
The Thunder are in uncharted territory with the amount of picks and assets they have along with how good they are at such a young team. Personally I don’t think they in that win now mode like they were with KD and Russ when they were trying to add Al Horford and Victor Oladipo before KD left. I think what the Thunder need to do this offseason and maybe even next offseason is go for moonshots. Try to package 2 or 3 even 4 picks to try and move into the top 2 or 3 of the draft and just simply take the best player available. Not drafting for needs or anything specific but trying to hit on a HOF type player to pair with SGA, Holmgren, and Williams. Those are the only 3 untouchable at this point. The Thunders goal should be trying to increase their ceiling, once your in championship mode you try to raise your floor by drafting special and depth. I think with a top 3 pick they can realistically still add another young all star caliber player. And with positionless style basketball the Thunder play it doesn’t really matter who. If it’s another 7 footer they can go the Timberwolves model, if it’s another wing they can go the golden state model. I agree with you Giddy is replaceable, and I love the guy but so is Dort. I’m not sure he’s a starter on a championship team. So for the the next couple of years swing for the fence. Because even if you have 4 1st rounders in next years draft you don’t have 4 roster spots for them anyway
Eventually what you need is guys who play their role and know how to maximize that. OKC should go get more of those guys instead of their young bench. Get Caruso. Get a Derrick White. Get a Andre Drummond for size. Stuff like that make you a contender. But they will wait and waste their shot
I genuinely believe the Timberwolves are similar to I think it was the 2014 or 2015 Hawks. Had the best record in the league for most the season but were exposed in the playoffs. Ant is amazing I think he’s a legit star but Gobert and KAT will be exposed in the playoffs
It’s a testament to great organizational structure from top to bottom and they’re going to be a dynasty real soon
A dynasty? Calm down there they gotta have some playoff experience first

Both Philly and Miami are going to probably want their 2025's back to make big trades soon, so leverage those for 2028/2030 picks, and trade off the 2024 assets for role players.
@@accordingtodrew7302 Give us two first picks for Goat Alex Caruso and we have a deal 🤝
Who would we trade for them? Huh
SGA is🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This year is another draft year they could potentially have 3 1st rd picks this year maybe two in the lottery depending on how the jazz finish or two picks at worst but with Poku and bertans on the way out and maybe Tre Mann might aswell draft two guys to fill those spots especially with the recent draft success in chet jdub jwill and wallace
A defensive forward would be perfect for this group, but I don’t want to see a trade this season
The 2014-15 Warriors didnt need a trade during the season to make their run. Sometimes you can just roll out with the team you got
Yeah, they can trade up, trade into the future, or be in the mix for any potential trade.
Robert Williams and lively
OKC isn’t drafting anyone that can’t DP&S(dribble, pass and shoot). No more Perk and Adams types.
Dpoy, mvp, and maybe a Allstar who would've thought
In presti we trust 🔥
From a bucks fan if they blow this one too up like they did with their first big 3 I will go crazy
My one concern about adding a front court guy is does that diminish J-Dub's impact when he's more of a traditional wing and not a small ball 4 that can blaze past other guys. I'll be interested to see if they keep Lu Dort or try and bring in a defender with more size. In Presti we Trust!
love being competitive competitive again
chet plus how many firsts get you victor??? i know it aint gonna happen but what would the number be to make this one real??
They don’t have to trade Giddey. They can trade a couple of bench players and 2 or 3 number 1 draft picks.
If i could trade id really push for...
Giddey + Bertans + Mann + 3 1sts, 1 of them being Utah's, so they control their rebuild.
FOR
Markkanen + Okynik.
Olynik is a perfect 4/5 dirty work low post player who can still fit our offense.
And i shouldnt have to detail LM.
Too much and not a good fit because mark plays at his best when he is the guy in my opinion at least
@@sadmarinersfan8935 What do you mean "the guy"?
Have you even been watching them?
He plays identically to us. He never forces trying to make a play, plays off the ball and lets the offense develop, can spot up, can play the post. He never demands the ball, never holds up the offense for himself... i dont know where you get the "the guy" stuff because theres no aspect of his game or him as a player that says this.
I dont know man, he plays so similarly to us, its almost like hes an NBA2K created PF just for this OKC. Theres not a single player that fits better.
@@JimBob-jr5up still off Giddey ?
@@BrettDonaldson-kv6my Why wouldnt i be?
Whats changed?
Hes had a few good games?
Can we resign all 5?
Has that changed? No?
Do you value what Giddey is starting to do right (could be a blip, who knows) over Dorts better offense and A+ defense?
Probably not, right?
I know i dont.
So whats changed?
We're still in the same position no matter how many chickens you want to count before they hatch.
@@JimBob-jr5up He seems to be growing in his new role ?
Random silly question .. And i know it would never happen but how many picks persuade san an to trade victor... 10 firsts for victor? Id do it if im okc
Id imagine 10 would do it. Those Clippers picks might end up as gold.
But no way in hell id make that trafe.
@@JimBob-jr5upwouldnt make trade if u were who??? san an? u wanna keep victor?
OKC just need a solid frontcourt player to help Chet defend big boys players like Embiid, Jokic, AD, Valenciunas and Gobert.
Shai is the TRUTH! Gotta be this era’s Jordan. So clutch in the mid range, his play equates to wins, he makes his team better unlike other stars
Zion in OKC would be amazing.
Would be nice size inside
He fasho playing at a allstar level n he fasho gne make it next year
what are the qualifiers for him not being an allstar besides too soon? what about Tako Fall or A Bol Bol? size, rebounding, not consistant enough to start but both could be gotten cheap and both have enough juice to squeeze. also both has upside. potential improvement on both. the prospect of postionless twin towers especially w Bol. i see potential . other teams cast off's sometimes pay cheap dividends. it's not like a cheap miss would hurt
This is the same thing they do every year since they got to OKC even with new contracts they can offered any stars they have to draft them and they always do
They squeaked out one on the Celtics!
Okc should draft Bronny and get lebron on the vet min for a year
It’s all about the bench now they have the starting five
If the Thunder needs that final piece, it ain't going to be Stew. He is a great backup big. Probably should start over some other guys in the rotation.
They're contenders even if they don't make a move. IMO they need to make a move asap.
They will get Luka when he becomes available. They have all the picks for it…
Imagine Luka and Shai 🔥
We got Giddey we don’t need luka
I wish everyone would stop talkn bout trades and let presti cook
I’m thinking a year from now if things ain’t working out for the spurs , okc should go and get Wemby, give up 6-7 picks and 3 players for wemby. Imagine wemby , Shai , and holmgren on his same team
The fact that Josh had been on fire recently idk what to do with him at this point
Everyone should’ve known when Chet crossed up Stephen Curry with his own move at age sixteen, that he was gonna be this good.
If the Thunder isn't ready then beat them, I want to see the defeats
correct me if im wrong but dont they have 4 2024 firsts? would whoever be no.1 accept those firsts for the no.1 pick?
Kinda weird to have Mann’s pic constantly highlighted with the other guys when he’s not a contributing factor to their success. Dort should be the guy to get that spotlight time.
Okc has standards as when it comes to being a professional and isiah Stewart's temperament wouldn't be considerable.
Any tradi big man does not work with okc due to how they play and is unrealistic, big men like Drummond are players okc been avoiding
Josh giddey for a real power forward would be really good. Jaylen Williams is great but hes more of a shooting guard than a pf.
Another 3 point shooting, shot blocker, who can make the next pass guy along side chet.
Kyle Lowry as a back up PG with championship, veteran leadership would be a nice fit
IMO
I think Okc should wait until a star that fits the roster gets tired of its team or the franchise wants to move on from him (Siakam maybe) and not rush things. Also, I don't see how Isaiah Stewart can make this team any better, especially looking at his 60M/4y contract
Not a star
OKC doesn’t really need a star, they just need vet help. siakam would be perfect
@@soonerguy8011Siakim is a star, sir. A needy one too.
Got to give a huge thanks to the Los Angeles Clippers for giving Shai Gilgeous-Alexander up and five first for Paul George
They dont need to make a trade the roster and talent is right there aint noway moving giddey for stuart is a smart idea please dont ruin this team
Package Davis Bertans with draft compensation for an impact player on a short contract
This is such a bad trade for okc plus no way okc trades jdub especially for an expiring siakam plus the fit with siakam and shai is terrible
How do you move Giddey until his court issues aren't resolved?!??!
I Hope They Never Trade Their First 5
TALK ABOUT THE SACRAMENTO KINGS

He can be a top starter, but unless he takes a massive leap, I don’t see it
Chet Holmgren ROTY and All-Star
pick a good front office and you’ll never be a miserable sports fan.
and no. we don’t need to make a trade.
and yea. we’re contenders.
Is it safe to say the thunder is what we thought the Cavs would be
OKC should learn their lesson with KD WB and harden they should hold their core, I have a feeling if they remove anyone in that core team probably that team will collapse
Pascal siakam fits perfect with shai and Chet. Wow
I think the same thing. Trade giddey for pascal. However pascal going to be a free agent this summer so it would be too risky. And even if you bring him back you won’t be able to give Chet and J-Dub both close to max money after their rookie deals
Only player we need is Andre Drummond
Has any team ever won a championship and be in last place in the NBA in total rebounds?
If they don't do a trade, than what for they use all the picks they have? they can't have 30 players on the roster.
Gidei is not bad at all till last year he was probably their best young player
Okc should just trade they picks for this year for picks later down the line
And keep doing that until they need the picks to use
Eventually what you need is guys who play their role and know how to maximize that. OKC should go get more of those guys instead of their young bench. Get Caruso. Get a Derrick White. Get a Andre Drummond for size. Stuff like that make you a contender. But they will wait and waste their shot
Before I traded for a center, I would run chet and J will at the same time and see how that looks. Don't think there is a huge sample size there.
We need a PF and a 4/5 depth guy, not a centet.
Jwill runs the 4 all the time
What about getting vets for there bench.
All defensive team caliber player with dort
Like Cason Wallace? Lol
I genuinely believe the Timberwolves are similar to I think it was the 2014 or 2015 Hawks. Had the best record in the league for most the season but were exposed in the playoffs. Ant is amazing I think he’s a legit star but Gobert and KAT will be exposed in the playoffs
