  • Bruce Lee was the OG when it came to martial arts, but he had some pretty good business advice, too!

Bruce Lee said the kata is "vertical death". He said your goal is to deliver the punch, not wave your arms around and all that posturing. Scripted fighting doesn't work. A coworker who studied Butakon Karate said he would strike when his opponent got to the end of his kata and was figuring out which kata to use next.

I'm not an expert (or even a novice) on martial arts, however I have watched way too many hours of the Shaw Brothers ... lol.

Yes! In English we have the similar saying, "Jack of all trades, master of none."

The hard part is climbing a pyramid. The good news is you get to choose which one. I'd guess that the sort of shiny object syndrome you speak to relates to prioritizing what is easy.

It is absolutely hard to climb a pyramid. But, can you imagine trying to climb multiple pyramids at once? Yet, that’s what a lot of folks seem to attempt. Me included at times. 😉

@@MikeGastin That's a great point. The overstate things even further and more deeply :) --I've struggled with this mostly after pivoting, in order to find the right pyramids. Or rather in FOMO over a yet unknown, but critical one. Relating to your older video on OODA, it's worthwhile to look for signs of this on the first 'O'.

@@PiEndsWith0 It's difficult. Every decision *to* do something is also a decision to *not* do other things. Never easy.
