  • Today we start what will most likely be the longest running and one of the favorite series on this channel, Animal Spotlights! In our first ever spotlight we'll talk about one of the most visually striking tortoises on the planet, the Redfoot!
    I'll go over how they survive in the wild, what they eat, where they live, and other natural ecology topics. This will NOT be a captive care guide, that will come later!
    Check out our Patreon if you'd like to support the channel for just $5 a month and get cool perks like behind the scenes pics and early access to youtube videos!

    Great Information! I have 2 baby red foot tortoises and make great pets. Not much maintenance and very active. I recommend getting one and again, that make great pets. But if you get a red foot tortoise, care for it well and actually spend time for it. Be smart and make a RIGHT decision

      Do they have personalities? Or they affectionate and like attention? I’m researching different tortoises because I’d love to buy or rescue one in the future 😄

      @@lish2014 yes individuals do have different personalities some are shy while some are more curious and most tortoises like the under side of their necks to be rubbed the way dogs do

      @@lish2014 This is a year late, but I thought I'd answer anyway for others. They are like dogs in a shell after they get to know you & mature a little bit. My redfoot, Yurtle the Turtle (because all torts are technically turtles 😉) is so sociable! She'll make a raucous for attention, come up when they hear or see her, loves to be pet, & even climbs on top of her cave, slide down, & do it again for fun! Just such a delight! It took her a year to grow & find her way, but now that she's 4 this month, I couldn't love her more! One of the best pet reptiles I've ever owned!

    Where can I find a list of your animals so I can make a suggestion for the next animal?

      @unchartedwild2166  Před 4 lety +3

      The most complete list would probably just be on our instagram with all of the animal pics we have. As we do more and more CZcams videos our whole family will eventually be revealed piece by piece haha!
