- Wonderful food and tea display at Thailand Pavilion. alongside the food dance of "Som Tam," which tells the narrative of one of Thailand's most renowned dishes, which combines the simplicity of ingredients with the richness of Thai culture in one dish. The meal blends sour lime, spicy chile, salty, savory fish sauce, and sweetness supplied by palm sugar, and is known as a staple food in northeastern Thailand. In a mortar, the materials are combined and crushed. This spicy salad, created with shredded unripe papaya, is both nutritious and tasty. It is also popular throughout Southeast Asia. Its nice to see you guys having smiles on face. And somehow I almost tear up when suddenly recognize that how suffer Thai people have encountered due to covid-19 situation, and there .. those Thai people were working hard to promote the country. How much dedication and effort they put there as I ser from lots of creative activities , beautiful and entertain performance on stage. Im truly appreciate them. Both is polite. For very close friends, we can speak "kop-kun-na" or "kop-jai-na"

Somtam, or papaya salad, with sticky rice is a well-known, delicious dish of Thailand. The Somtam performance is intended to show the audience how to cook it and the song "Somtam" was composed nearly 50 years ago by Princess Sirindhon with her title by the time.

Yes its use to be call a country food..after the food become popular Thailand wants to claim as there own..Its a Laos dish.. But Laos dont get the credit.. Now they wanted to change the name and call Somtam..and claim as there's own. Like how they stole.the Laos. Emerald Buddha!!!
@@johnsone9961 ... Just want to clarify your misunderstanding. Papaya salad is a type of food widely prepared in the Northeast of Thailand and Laos; it is a shared food culture in the region. We Thais call it "Somtam", but you Laotians name it "Tam Mak Hung". What we discuss here is only Somtam and it does not mean to take all the credits. Why not promote your own Tam Mak Hung?

Thailand we have organized it for 10 years instead of thanking Thailand for spreading Thai culture similar to yours foreigners who have finished traveling to Thailand and some of them will go to Laos and Cambodia where we once lived together have a common culture you can use this jealous time to improve yourself and your country some good things will happen in Laos thanks
