Hi Luke! A friend of mine and I bought this tent because of your review! We took them camping to Utah for a week in June. We had torrential rains, 50mph gusts of wind, and hail hammering down. We camped with a large group of people. EVERYONE else's gear leaked! 2 trailers and a schoolie had water coming in. A "Weather Tec" Coleman tent turned out to be a swimming pool! A tee pee, and cabin type tent also leaked. Our Mongar 2 DID NOT leak one single drop! Another friend's tent had the plea snap because of the wind. I LOVE my tent!!! Thank you for the recommendation and awesome review! I got the purple one, and my friend the green. They are awesome!

I love mine! I went back and forth between the mongar 2 and the lanshan 2 pro. Ultimately decided on the purple mongar because it’s double walled and freestanding which is just a better option for me personally. The husband loves it too. The first time I set it up he says “Huh! So THAT’S what happened to Barney.”

I purchased one myself during their Father's Day Sale, and I was impressed. The day I recieved it I set it up as it was just beginning to lightly rain and it took me about 10 minutes. I put up the rainfly first and kept getting stuck with parts under my knees as I connected the interior(my own personal inexperience with doing this made the initial setup much longer I'm sure). It stopped raining the next morning, and as I was camping in my back yard. The night was clear so I removed the fly and just camped in the screened portion. I usually have devided days off and have to be at work the following day. That night where I am in Florida it didn't drop below 78F, which is usually warmer then I'm comfortable. However, I slept like a baby all night, ultra refreshed and even feeling a little crispness in the air. I have slept in it a few times since and even when the outside temp isn't really cool I have always been comfortable. I, personally, like this tent. It never leaked when it rained(and if you know Florida rain, you know it may start light, but it can get really heavy).

Whew, I am so glad to hear that your testing went well with this tent. I ordered it when I saw Susie do her solo camp with it, but it has been so hot here that I haven't gone camping yet. I had been planning to go next month. I had to order it when I saw Susie camping in it because I LOVE that purple color. It is my favorite color of all time. Bought the light grey color and its great. Its all mesh design works so well watching the night sky, though I setup the rainfly only when going to sleep since its not yet rainy season but only for the morning dew not to drench the inside and not really good idea to be exposed directly to fog all night

  • @mendyviola

I have that tent and it survived several thunderstorms with zero issues. The optional add-on vestibule worked well to keep the rain off gear (I added a ground sheet in the optional vestibule area) without compromising the main tent area. Never had condensation issues. It’s definitely 3-season though. For the price, it’s a great light weight 2 person tent. Easy set-up. Packs small, and light weight.

Hi guys I enjoy watching you guys. I just finish watching your hike in Maine. We love Maine and used to camp there for years every summer when the kids were little. I hope you guys can make it to Arcadia Natiolal Park, you will love it. Another great place to hike is the Shelbourne Falls in Mass. It's an absolute beautiful town. Not much to do, other than hiking but since you guys love the outdoors is really all you need. When The river is high, you can go tubing and white water rafting but is too low right now.

Nice, this is probably my next tent! I was looking at the Naturehike Cloud Peak 2 but it seems too awkward to set up in comparison to this one plus with the mongar the overhang from the crossbeam makes sure water doesn't fall into your tent when the outer doors are open ☺

Wife and I have done a fair bit of camping over the years however mostly camp grounds etc and more recently with kids. We've been planning on doing day trip hikes in the near future and have been looking at lightweight portables for a while now, moreso the Star-River than the Cloud Up because of the double doors but when I saw this one had more internal space as well and didn't cost much more at all had to do some more research on it. You've sold me and I've just clicked go on the order. Excellent review mate, appreciated ;)

very thankful for this review. Now I have more idea what to expect I had very little and only light rain since I got mongar2. I started laughing its waterproofness came from repelling heavy rains in the area you set it up ;) For the color - I love it! almost bought the purple one myself, but then rational mind won over and got blue- lighter (- 250 g) version. Am slightly jealous for anyone who got purple, but well, my back thanks me with each km I carry it.

I bought this for my wife back in July (it was a Prime Day deal for something like $130) and she got to use it for the first time last weekend. We had two small storms roll through and she stayed perfectly dry inside. The only issue she has is that there's no graceful way for her to exit the tent. For reference, she usually uses either a Eureka Tetragon 3 (about 8-10" taller and no vestibule) or a Eureka Silver Canyon 6 (7' - yes feet - of headroom), neither of which presents any difficulties. Basically, she's trying to get out of it without crawling a bit, which just isn't possible with any tent this low to the ground with a vestibule. For as often as she'll use it, I don't think it'll be an issue.

Bessport is a brand sold on Amazon very similar in design to this one. It is completely waterproof with well taped seams and creates no condensation in extremely heavy rains. It is also under 100 bucks. (Paraiso 3) I wish you would review it Luke. Or any of the Bessport tents. There are a few loose threads, but not bad. I've purchased 3 different models. Love them all. So far thats the only time I've used it and I'm really impressed
Edit: to clarify it was 2 people in the tent as well, which increased the amount of condensation but also likely made a noticeable difference in warmth

Cool 👍 maybe the more domey shape of it helps with not allowing water to build up (or collect) on any area of the tent 🤔

I have both the Cloud 3 and Vik1 from NatureHike. And both have the same problem : the rain fly finish too close to the mat, making an access for rain to accumulate between the mat and the tent floor. Hopefully it’s so waterproof, it didn’t come in. But still, im disappointed and probably won’t use the mat anymore when there is rain coming. And from what I see, the mongar looks to have the same problem.

I was going to get myself this tent purely on the color and price range and shape but i did indeed do research i found this channel and watched all the videos on this model with your advice it's great and it's nice it's not just because companies send you free merch to advertise. It arrives tomorrow i got a shade tarp and some poles also and some well deserved gear i did wait a bit since black Friday is coming up but i got early prime so scored the extra vestibule the purple tent 👾☔ some good stakes and other stuff for around 300 bucks seems like a nice buy all and all. 🙂
Thank you for you review and informative chats with all of us keep up the good work I'll chime in once i test it out subscribed to the channel from the first video and also watched like a ton of the other reviews and advice strength and honor sir

So far I like why you are saying and showing about this tent. I’ve been looking for something like this. I like all the colors, but really wish it came in coyote brown, OD green, tan, or something more natural.

Got two of these. And the only complaints I have is regarding small things, and most if not all can be fixed with some guyline or similar.

Thanks for the video, could you do the review and test for Naturehike Cycling Storage 1p tent?

I think one of these in grey will replace my onetigris cosmitto. My biggest complaint with nature hike is that they are short, I’m 6’3 and wish they made them a bit longer.

The Mongar is a near exact copy of the MSR Hubba Hubba. So yes, design is very good, but I like that it is rather well made for a chinese copy. :)
