- The Spoon N ONE demo car is possibly the coolest shop rental to get for the day whilst your car gets some work done. With upgraded suspension, brakes, turbo, wheels, exhaust, intake and few other accessories, it makes for a perfect Tokyo daily driver. In this video we took it into some of the tighter Tokyo streets of Shinjuku!

What car would you compare the N-One to in your country?
It would be the Mirage and Wigo in the Philippines
By size, I would compare it to the Citroën new AMI or the Aixam 417, both micro cars according to Spanish law and you don't need a driving license to drive one. By the feelings you told, I'd compare it to a Peugeot 205 1.3 Rallye I drove once
Maruti Suzuki Alto(India). Alto in India is completely different though. Slow but light and fun!
I'd say Twingo RS! The N One is super cool but when you come across those monstrous SUV, may be a bit scary.
Perodua Axia in Malaysia
In a world full of new suvs, the kei cars makes more sense than anything else
Until Karen smashes you into a ditch because she wants to do 90 in a 45
Except when you crash with a suv
That’s why I drive a Smart 👍🏾
@@colincharan-kumpula6424 You beat me to it. Being on the freeway would suck in one of these, but aside from that, i could easily see it in a city like SF, Portland, Seattle, Boston, New York, etc.
@@rishrevsR13 There's no Smart car this cool or practical, sorry to say.
I’ve always wondered why we don’t import more Kei cars to the UK. They seem perfect for our older towns and cities.
I would love to see Cambridge with Kei cars everywhere instead of the massive SUVs that pollute my eyesight
not just the UK, but almost all of europe could benefit from it, portugal sure could
I wonder why the manufacturers don't export it themselves directly. It would compete very well with other small car brands such as smart
I think due to safety ratings. Hatchbacks are still considered safer and practical enough for a daily driver
financial/competition impact on european car manufacturers....all about money
Proof that a tuned Kei car like this can be fun driving as well, nice showing of streets around Shinjuku, shots of the N-One RS parked aside is so Gran Turismo-esque!
Always have a really soft spot for just any kind of kei cars be it the sporty ones or your regular boxy commuters.
I just love how they're the complete opposite of current car trends where they kept getting bigger.
The engineering itself on maximizing any space they can get out of such a tiny size limitation is just remarkable.
I always remember how surprised I was when i entered a Daihatsu Tanto and it has a generous cabin (probably even roomier than some regular hatchbacks) while being 185cm person
Yes they are quite spacious for the size. Realistically though it’s the inability to meet international crash test regs that keeps these cars only for the domestic market
@@dino_dc That is true, sadly.
There is something more rewarding rowing your own gears and driving a mildly underpowered but very direct car like this. At least the fun factor is not strangled by the ever present CVTs that are in 99% of Kei cars these days. This would make fantastic city daily, especially in places like Shinjuku with its narrow streets.
Ah yes CVTs…don’t get me started on them
haha Dino, your description of the smells of that alley as 'the smell of old Japan' and 'Japan at its' best' ---> bang on. Those little alleyways and the tiny bars are the best!
I love that car, actually I love most kei cars and it's so sad we cannot have these in Europe. We used to have "almost" kei cars like the suzuki alto, the various mini jumbo Subaru's and the Honda jazz or the suzuki wagonR+. Those days are gone and I'm very sad about that. I'm not the typical guy that only likes fast sports cars or big SUVs, on the contrary. Give me small practical fun cars that gives you the impression of going fast while you aren't fast at all.
Check the Cervo(セルボ) ss20
It is a 360cc 2-stroke Keicar, very slow and no power but sounds great!
Love seeing Japan street through you guys lens
I love Golden Gai. It is so charming. The small bars and customers are so friendly and inviting.
I just purchase a brand new 2022 Honda N-ONE Premium today. The dealer said it should be ready by next Saturday and I am so excited to take it home! I named it 宗一郎 after Honda's founder. It was so much fun to drive and had so many cool options compared to my current 2018 Honda Jazz VTI-S.
Nice, in Japan?
Love that color combo. Perfect for that car.
I really love the b-rolls of this one. Keep em coming.
Really disappointed we never got kei cars in America. Seeing how the highway system is and how everything is so far away it kind of makes sense though. I still imported one for myself though! Wish spoon ran through mine though lol
Ever heard of Scion xB, Kia Soul, Nissan Cube, Fiat 500L or any of the Mini?
in my opinion maybe people on US market wishlist are about Truck like Hilux, F150, Chevy Truck etc.
that's compact car are not desireable
That looks like a super fun drive
Just picked up a 2018 and really enjoying it
This is such a simple but cool video. Love it. Mini car review, mini Japan tourism guide. Perfect bite size entertainment.
Thanks for the feedback!
Great story once again Dino. A good contrast from the high end/ modified cars which we all dream about. Cool K car. It was also nice to have a glimpse of Shinjuku. Keep up the awesome content and keep living the dream.
Thank you, happy to hear you enjoyed it!
Dino DC, Thank you for the culture mini tour to Type One / Spoon and Tokyo
NCP10 Vitz in RS trim. Same level of fun. Thanks for the vid. Really enjoyable watch
Love how it still looks like the original N600, but better in every aspect. ❤
The DOF on your cinematic shots is dream worthy SUGOIIIII!!!!
Thank you!
The video quality and production is really nice! I honestly thought that this channel had at least 100k+ subscribers. Instant subscribe.
Thank you! We’re 3 months in so thank you for all the support ❤️
From '99 to 2014 I owned a Daihatsu with a 5M revving up to 7500 rpm. It was slow, my God it was so slow. But it was a lot of fun! So small that through corners it was a blast and I could keep larger cars behind very easily. Especially on the alpine and Lake District road in norther Italy where I used to live.
Gorgeous bit of filming dude, those back streets are amazing, looks like somehere Daido Moriyama would shoot. Thanks man. 🤘
Thank you!
nicely done!
Hey - super cool car! Back in the day my girlfriend had a Honda N360, white with a black roof, fell in love with Hondas - and her- from that moment on…. Still driving Hondas, but sadly the N360 is a thing of the past. I personally think cars like this are the future :-))
I love that little car !!!!!! The N1 looks amazing. Plus the Spoon touch. Personally and Moxie it has. I would love to own one.
Such a cool car! Amazing content, thank you Dino ❤🤝
Glad you like it!
Fully agree! Small cars in the city is the best fun! Still a dream for me to visit and photograph some projects in japan. Cool vid Dino!
Thanks!
In an out of city best cars
I'm from Sydney, Australia. I drive Hyundai Tucson 2023. Kia spoon looks interesting, and it fits right into Japan's lifestyle with narrow streets. Japan is my favourite holiday destination. I used to live in Japan a few years back in a suburb called Tabata. I would love to come for a visit sometime in the future. Great review 👍
Fun is not always about power and size. Sometimes we've seen enough 1000+hp supercars for the day and we just wanna enjoy simpler things.
So true, that’s fun too of course, but there’s something so satisfying about driving small cars hard
I’m the kind of car guy that likes any car that performs well at it’s intended job. I’ve driven a vast variety of “cool” cars but currently drive a Daihatsu Hijet 4x4 on Toyo Open Country tires, it outperforms everyones expectations off road and i just love it for being awesome at what it was meant to do. If I’m in the market for another sports car, the S660 open top manual would be high up on my list, like you said it’s fun to be able to wring the performance out of a car rather than being terrified to hit the gas in case of cops etc.
My 1st car was also an AX Gti. So much fun
An amazing machine!😍
nice video man like usuall . dope car
Thank you!
really really like your video!
Ciao from Italy ❣
Grazie! Ciao 👋🏻
Neat car and great cinematic shots in Tokyo
Greetings from korea 🇰🇷 😊
I'll be in Fukuoka this weekend
Nice l, glad you liked the vid! Enjoy Fukuoka!
Kei cars FTW
Love the N-One
Loved the Vibe of the video, the angles and all the surroundings, but a LITTLE more about the Car, it’s versatility as a Kei Car, and some features would be welcomed Dino. 😉✌🏻🇯🇵
I love that little thing. 🥰
Dude, I would like to say some things about your channel:
1) Really impressed about you knowledge
2) Really impressed by the fact you've got your childhood in UK and speaks "american" perfectly
3) Really impressed, as an italian as much as you, that someone with the same life-story as me exists!😂
4) Last, but not least, you have re-proved that we italians can be clever and open minded if we are exposed since we're kids to different cultures
Keep doing, keep going and thanks for the nice content, dude!
Grazie 💪🏻
Only in japan imho... good luck with parts avaliability and knowing a garage that can repair it for you overseas ...
Hi Dino! Great video as usual! We meet at Spoon on that day 😋
Greetings from Portugal 😁
Oh hey! Thanks for saying hi that time!
It looks like a combo of a classic mini in front and new MINI in back, but it’s a Honda! Love the look of this car.
it’s me brother we met in special meet that hardcore did that day in tokyo dino..from malaysia building the mini.😊.this car super fun man…good content keep up
Ah the mini, yes! Good chatting to you, see you at AOS!
I don't think there is a properly American car that matches something like that. Also, I really don't think there are many places left in the world like Shinjuku. I'm so glad that Japan has managed to stay true to itself.
In today's traffic I'd really love to have a Honda City Turbo + Motocompo combination. This April/May on Tokyo vacation I saw two Motocompos used as transportation for the first time and they look just brilliant.
Damn that’s a rare sight actually seeing them get used
@@dino_dc I've seen one on the cemetary next to Yanaka-Ginza once and another one was always parked in front of a hair stylist in Ginza. If you are on Showa Dori, there's Hotel Grand Bach. You stand in front of the hotel entrance and turn right it's almost immediately there :-)
I adore Kei cars, in New Zealand we get some as grey imports. I would love an S660
I have got a Suzuki Wagon R+ here in the UK is very popular Kei car, as it's economical, practical and very reliable car. Opal or Vauxhall Agila aslo available as Kei car in the UK, same shell , but 1.2 Opel (Vauxhall) engine in there.
Love these vids. So chilled. Bit over Larry Chen and hearing him say how everything is amazing all the time. Could you do a video of the tech art ae86 that was modified to do 42 mpg? Would be interesting. Almost of interest would be the new rb26 (hks?) ecu that gives 20kn/litre. Cheers take care!
Larry also does good work, but he very much plays to an audience that is not as interested in the other aspects of car culture(sadly, it's a bit down to the tribalism in American culture where they like to argue about how something is the "only right way" to do something, without considering that it's just a different focus that does whatever it's clique is better than another methodology. There's rarely a sole right/wrong in what one likes(taste is always subjective). If Larry's stuff isn't your pace, Dino's here for you. There's also other channels with other focus, but another reason why the tuner lifestyle type gets more air time(they're usually far more willing to drop the big bucks to chase big numbers/new shiny toys, etc).
That out of the way, I'm a bit tired of that type of content as well, and Dino's more down low, people oriented style is more interesting to me.
should we toss is an "oooOOhhhhHHHh..." in there as well for a Larry all the time quote?
Planning on visiting tech arts & hks eventually too!
You never see AX’s on UK roads anymore. The AXGT was the car I wanted back when I was 17😂
Great 🚗 ❤
lovely car. want one...
I wish we could have kei cars again in Britain. Sadly our roads are so broken and interfered with by demented “planners” that I suspect they wouldn’t work. And these are just the cars that many people need too.
These have no issues with bad roads FYI, especially if you don't spec them with some oversized rims.
I need a wallpaper 😍
Great fun for your face in city collisions.
I would never enter Kabuki-cho with my car, but I believe K-cars are an ideal solution for living in Japan.
The first 10 seconds of this video reminded me of a Studio Ghibli anime ... very soothing
I love your video on this Honda Spoon 660 RS. Can you do Suzuki Alto RS too?
Thank you so much for this lovely vedio
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@dino_dc you are the best , i love japan and every thing about japan , and japan brands , and you make me love it more .
I would love to have it as a daily
That stack parking is the most futuristic shit i ever seen
Just look at it’s face. It’s like it’s alive, with a personality of it’s own.
Totally agree with the sentiment that turbo'd 3-cylinder kei cars are the best daily city car.
Kei cars FTW!!!
I would love one in yellow and manual. If only I win the lottery then I will definitely get one :)
wow. Keis are fun for sure.. #shinjuku
This is such a cool car, we need one like this in South Africa, people will buy them like hot cakes.
I like this car. This could be a great starter car in America and efficient alternative to electric and hybrid. Maybe not in all situations but in small towns or inner city this would be solid. People waste money on accessory vehicles like bikes atvs that are way more dangerous than this but complain like having an extended truck or suv is totally safer in every scenario. 😂
97hp is very satisfying for the size
Video that was desperately needed.
Thank you!
Love it! I was just wondering: Since the regulation for a kei-car does include a max. HP: What happens to it, if you tune it above the limit? Will it be considered as a regular car?
No that only happens if you boost the dimensions with a wider body kit
This intro shot looks like an unreal engine 5 showcase haha. it's unreal how good game graphics have become that normal camera footage now looks like a game.
As we don't have kei cars laws in EU/brit, i'm curious to see what power we could harness out those 660cc reliably.
Great video as always. No airbag? In the UK we can’t remove an airbag (legally) what’s the score in Japan?
All good over here…
Honestly, love the looks of it. Wouldn't mind to drive it to work as a commuter at all, but it would have to be in the exact same color! YELLOW! ;-)
Shame we don't get the K-cars in Europe and if they would be available they would cost way too much, which would make it annoying and no one would buy them!
Bring that thing, make it available for 10-12k and it will sell in bucket loads!
Only in Japan 🗾 this car thrives as it should.... but I'd love to take it on the tail of the dragon!
It's sooooooo much better/funner driving a slow car fast then it is driving a fast car slow!!!!! 😉
I just got an Integra 6mt but id love to have one of these too!
Highly recommended. Just fit a bigger bucket seat if you are my size 😂
Yes thanks amen
we need more kei cars and hatchbacks for our dailies, less suvs 🍺🧙♂
Honda needs to launch this car in India. It will be a HUGE success+
does wider wheels make a more stable car ? with winds ...
Wow, I like Honda's cars very much. The appearance of this car is really attractive to me. It's a pity that it is not introduced and sold in Taiwan.😢❤
Import one 👍🏻
I wanted to buy one. Still is it worth it. Buy it to keep it. Weekend driving. My country only has one imported. Its the the older one with bench sit at the front
would a honda n-one worth importing to the uk? are performance parts easy to find in japan to import to the uk?
I’d say buy & modify in japan then import the complete car
Are there any Kei cars you'd recommend for larger guys?
Or more avoid bucket seats
They are tight but with a seat mounted as far low and back as it can go you'll be surprised how tall people can get in there. But no, won't be too comfortable
hey man. can you please lower the music just a bit and in exchange, raise your voice because I keep adjusting the volume in your clips
great videos, keep it up
0:40 @Larry Chen - this is what your R34 GTR needed when you bought it initially 😂
Hey, Kabukicho! 😊
I wish this was in gran turismo 7
Just hope all the European 🇪🇺 cities 🙏 adopt this cars until we all of this became full Electric 😊
Thanks ✌️ for the video 📹 😊
Well the agenda in most Europen counties is all about this EV push. Which will never happen by the preset time frame
i find it funny that there's a big ass APC in the midst of smol little kei cars
Ayy, BenSupra's NSX. Lol!
Cool little car, the side streets in the piece were sic af. Those little bars were interesting.
Yeah cool little area
That looks fun as shit!
Love your videos but can you pls do something about the music volume in your videos, it is way too loud compared to the talking parts 🤕☺
Was that a Renault Captur at Spoon ?!!!
😍😍😍
I want one
So do I 😆
