Still love, the older franchise, not any of this new stuff it sucks, but I guess there’s a reason why there’s a kind of a twisted type of whore genre series
Brandon from Brightburn was never in any danger. 1st) The mother was so dumb, she NEVER mentioned to her husband, that Brandon could be hurt from the spaceship. She intentionally kept it from her husband, who would have done what needed to be done. 2nd) The mother took her time before trying to stab Brandon, with a downright idiotic speech. No wonder he realized she was up to something.
Surprised you didn't mention Fallen. Denzel Washington versus a body swapping demon. Ends up committing suicide by a cyanide cigarette in an attempt to bait the demon into him, but in the last moment of life the demon finds a stray cat and reveals it has been narrating the story as Washington the entire time.
@@lamarp.b.j6747 it's an essential watch for any Denzel fan. Probably my personal favorite from him. Also a fantastic performance from James Gandolfini before his break as Tony Soprano. I still can't hear Time is on My Side without a chill running up my spine.
House of a 1000 corpses should be on this list. She was almost free but ended up being picked up by the wrong person. If anyone but Spaulding picked her up from the road she would have made it home.
I have watched Event Horizon dozens of times, saw it in the theater twice. I have never got what you did with the ending. It literally just ends with Joely Richardson waking up safely after a hypersleep nightmare
I've heard this repeated several times, though. The whole "the doors closed on their own meaning the whole ship is sentient" thing. If they were going for that, you'd think they would have made it a tiny bit more obvious, instead it's ambiguous
Great list! Clare from Wish Upon should be here too. She almost beat the yaogui when her seventh wish was to return to the day her father found the music box. That bought back all the lives sacrificed. Then she asks Ryan to bury the package with the box. I really thought she won,but then Darcy hits her with her car. Clare herself was the last price.
Wow,I didn't think of that either! It makes sense. The entire ship was filled with the evil presence. Stark told Miller that when she first scanned the Horizon.
Why don't you do a list of horror movies where the hero conclusively wins? Such a list will be MUCH harder to put together, because having a twist ending showing the killer/monster/evil coming back is now 100% obligatory in horror movies. The entire crew of the movie gets executed if they don't include a sequel-bait ending.
You mean Peter Strahm, not Alex Strahm!. And none of the characters in Final Destination were going to survive as nobody beats death. They were always doomed.
The Xenomorphs being caused by an experiment is something that's been canon in the series for a while now, actually. That's not new, it just hasn't come up in the mainstream stuff, being a detail from the novels. The Engineers made the Xenomorphs as an experiment in adaptable bioweapons, almost as a joke because they were just a servitor race before getting put into the deadly Experimental World, where they came out on top. So the Engineers having the goo and such and humans(who had been trying to use the Xenomorphs for research since the first movie anyway) fucking things up and making a new breed is... just how it's always gone.
I mean, if Strohm got into the glass box and shut it, Hoffman, who was just a few seconds behind, would have had him imobilized to dispose of at his pleasure and only delayed the inevitable. Had he left the room or not entered it at all, he’d survived (probably).
RE - Texas Chainsaw: Melody was a fool if she thought that one strike with the chainsaw was going to do in Leatherface. I’m not just saying that from a Horror cliche perspective either, but a practical one as well. A chainsaw consists of a conveyor of multiple razor blade shards attached to a chain (hence the name, duh!). In order to really do any substantial damage with said item, a sustained effort is required on the part of the user. Ever seen a lumberjack cutting down a redwood? Then you know how long and arduous it can be. The only reason Leatherface can do what his does with a chainsaw is because of his enormous stature which allows him to wield the heavy machine-tool like claymore. With this in mind, Melody’s strike would have only given Leatherface a small albeit painful nick on the chin. Considering how much a cut of that nature would sting, you’d think that suddenly Melody would rank pretty high up on his list of least favourite people eh?
dont forget tcsm the beginning *spoilers the mc/final girl was actually super close to making it, a state trooper cop was just straight ahead of her but next thing you know leatherface all of a sudden pops up in the back seat and impales her with his chainsaw before she can even flee

I wonder if the "Smile"-entity would "die" if the affected person killed himself/herself/themself in front of a sociopath or psychopath? Either or both might or would not "feel" a trauma by this. So the entity could not jump into/attach itself to them.
@@abellewis3062 I'm making the point that it's never a blowout, the hero always stands a chance. The either win (after taking heavy damage) or come damn close. So the premise of this video is kinda unnecessary.
It's not unnecessary, every horror movie is different, they are not the same. Sometimes the hero dies and sometimes the hero or heroes live to see the end of the movie. I can see right now, you don't watch a lot of horror movies. I can give you plenty of horror movies examples where the hero or heroes won in the end. Seriously.
You know, It's okay to show clips from the original versions every now and then. e.g. The Omen. It was a better film and the endings are the same anyway. As soon as he saw her light the match he should have shut his eyes or turned away or got back in his car and drive off blind, literally ANYTHING but watch her. I get it was probably a "cant pull your eyes away" sort of thing but he still had time before it started. Since he saw it though his best bet is to just skip the torture and get to the end result, preferably while Rose is still burning.
i think Straham would have died no matter what in that room... Either how it happened or if he got in the box it would have been lowered, the walls close, but dont open again and he dies of either starvation, dehydration, or suffocation
Det. Strahm's trial was not the easiest. To win, he had to trust Det. Hoffman who he knew was a criminal and duplicitous in nature. Its very difficult to trust someone like that
Texas chainsaw was completely avoidable! Greed is what sealed their fates and not driving off! So ol girl had that coming because they should have listened to the older woman!

Depending on whether or not the heroes in the second movie die offscreen, then yeah. Everyone else for sure got taken by Death.
I don’t think Rose ever stood a chance in Smile. The “Smile demon” was just toying with her the whole time
Ya she was way beyond her league - you need some powerful witchcraft to repel that thing
Ben in "Night of the living dead", Christine in "Drag me to hell", Jenny in "Eden Lake" and Zoe in "Zombeavers" come to mind.
Been probs 10 years since I first watched Eden Lake, watched many times since, the tension and empathy and heartbreak in that film NEVER leaves.
