    Hi there I have on white wire of my ignition cut ,do you have picture on where all the 4 wires go that on top of the coil

    Did you use the Haynes trick of putting a hose over the plug and slowly screwing it in this prevents cross threading although the Laser socket with it's magnetic head may prevent this occurring 😃

    • @nathanielhoy96
      @nathanielhoy96 Před 11 měsíci

      That trick is kinda pointless if you have a spark plug socket imo. Most spark plug sockets are magnetic or have a rubber boot that grabs on to the spark making it easy to slide down the tube into the threads without dropping it. The only trouble is, the ones with the rubber boots can sometimes come off the extension leaving the socket down in the well. Easily prevented if you just tape the socket to the extension though...
      Note that you need a 'thin walled' socket for this engine as regular sockets often don't fit...so you may as well buy a spark plug socket regardless...

    Hmmm I suggest to start learning throttle body procedure. The engine doesn't have maf sensor so information how many air going in to the intake car take from throttle body and map sensor. This is common problem with car at that age. New spark plug can help but all spark plug look same so all work on rich mixture mixture .

    • @bigtomus
      @bigtomus  Před rokem

      Ok, so if there would be throttle body issues, codes would be related to it and I would foucus on it primarily. After changing spark plugs for the correct ones for this engine all issues got resolved and car drives smooth. No future problems occurred. Also I do know well throttle body procedures, but thanks for the suggestion.

    • @bigtomus

      Hi, I did spray small amount of adhesive at the edge of the coil then fitted back on the spark plug then wait 10min and rubber end came out with it.

    I’ve new sparks and new coil pack leads and same cyl 3 misfire and p0313. Wondering if could be fuel pump problem causing a misfire ?

    • @bigtomus
      @bigtomus  Před měsícem

      Hi, did you check after replacing the coil if all sprak plugs have spark? If yes then it must be problem with the fuel delivery so you could disconnect fule line and measure the fule pressure, but in my opinion it could be fule injector, you should check if plug and wiring are not damaged also if power is delivered, after injector itself. That would be my next steps.

    Can someone Help.I have Renault clio 1.6 gt line 2011,137000 kilometer on the clock.the problom that i have is when i want to accelerate,the car goes into limp mode and the car start shaking pretty badly. code p0300 ramdom multiple cylinder misfire detected.

    • @bigtomus
      @bigtomus  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi, so first to check would be the spark plugs, if they are designed for this engine type and replace them all, second when the plugs are out check spark on every cylinder as a weak spark could indicate weak ignition coil, it could be also vacuum leak or low fuel pressure due to a faulty fuel pump. To find the reason for your problem few things need to be checked, good luck in diagnosing your issue🤞

    Not gonna lie, it bothers me you just yanked all the HT leads out at once 😂 if it were me, I'd have done them one at a time so as to avoid putting them back in the wrong order

    • @bigtomus

      Hi, I would disagree as after gentle wiggle ignition cabels was removed, also it is impossible to fit them incorrectly as they are different lenght and would not fit in to wrong cylinder.

    How often do u recommend change of spark plug

    • @bigtomus
      @bigtomus  Před 2 lety

      Hi, the question is, if you drive mainly highway or lots of stop and go? Different usage patterns induce different loads, temperatures, and wear. Low mileage suggests a lot of short trips, which could affect the condition of the plugs. I would recommend to change them every 40 to 60 thousand kilometers or every few years just not let the corroded and damaged the head thread when unscrewing. Hope this helped.

    I think that the engine shown is a 1.2 8v, the 16v has a different air intake mount that it's not like that shown in the video. Also the oil cap is in a different position and the engine looks entirely different, can you confirm it's a 8v?
    You can easily tell by looking at the side of the car, if there is written 1.2 then it's a 8v , if there is written 16V then it is a 1.2 16v, and the image shown at the end is a 2.0 16v RS which has the same color but it has a completely different engine, it's a 2.0 16v not a 1.2

    • @bigtomus
      @bigtomus  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi, it is very easy to recognize 8 valve engine from the 16 valve engine, in 8v the spark plugs would be right at the side of the cylinder head as there is just one camshaft, in 16v the spark plugs are in the middle of the cylinder head as there are two camshafts. As you can see in the video spark plugs are in the middle of the valve cover which means in the middle of the cylinder head and this is evidence of this engine to be 16 valve. Also on the registration logbook is stated 1.2 16v.
      Whoever worked on engines will recognize it at the very first look, regardless of the outside markings which can be not original or missing.

    My car mix petrol and oil what happen?

    • @bigtomus
      @bigtomus  Před 2 měsíci

      Hi, from your description it looks like your engine most likely have damaged oil ring on one of the pistons or worn valve seals and now allowing oil to access combustion chamber and getting burn. Result of this are bluish exhaust fumes, in this case you can try engine oil additives to fix it, but if they do not help, engine probably needs general overhaul which can be very expensive and not worth doing.
