  • In this video we show you how to diy and change the brake pads on the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE with 6 piston brembo brakes and brake pads. It’s very very simple. On my particular camaro I have nearly 50k miles and still had pads left but since we are going to the track we must take this necessary measure.
    Let’s connect on ig: @phaze_1l (camaro) and @mrpha2e for the MR2 :)

I recommend anyone watching this attach a bleeder hose and bottle to each side’s bleed nipple and crack it open when compressing the pistons. This will make it easier to compress the pistons as well as collect the brake fluid instead of pushing it back through the brake system and risk blowing a seal. You can then Top off the reservoir with fresh DOT 3.

I do this same thing, however make sure you know what you are running the 6th gen 1LEs are usually upgraded to DOT4

Yes , and I also use a Q tip cotton bud or similar to remove residual fluid from the bleeder , otherwise it will come out later and damage the paint on the caliper.

Nice 1LE, I absolutely love mine! Did you have to watch the brake fluid level while compressing the calipers back?

Can you discuss whether it is necessary to bleed/flush brakes with every pad/rotor change? I came back from a track day with my brake pedal feel super long and the sound of scraping in my brakes. Wondering if i have to do all three, change pads, rotors, flush.
    THanks,

Your pedal feels long because your brake pads are worn down from track use. Therefore there is more play in brake cylinder/pedal. If you look at your fluid it’s probably lower too right? Because the brake cylinder is pressed in due to worn pad. Change the pad and you’ll see pedal correct itself. If fluid is dirty change it. If it has air bleed it.
