I didn't think that was alot of power for all that work, 🤔🤔🤔10 years ago I had a golf mk4 pd130 and I had it mapped to 182 bhp and 328lbs of torque on standard clutch and bog standard engine no uprated injectors or turbo nor intercooler let alone a induction kit ragged it for years up santa pod and everywere and clutch never slip and engine pulled strong💪👍👍👍

To be fair, car throttle is still doing great content. So the winners out of this separation are us, we get two great channels!

@@skinheads nah, you're being biased. Alex is way more awkward alone on camera. He needs Taylor to be funny. I love Alex, and I'll watch every video. But the boys at car throttle know how to entertain and have chemistry. Alex fits in perfectly when he still appears in videos with them, but Alex struggles to hold a video on his own. Thems facts.

Been following Darkside for a while now. Their passion for diesels are second to none
They do some crazy stuff, they recently posted a render to their IG of a V12 TDI swapped vw Amarok which from what I can see they plan on building 😮💨

@@krisg.4257 Always be slow too. My slowest car is a 150hp Primera GT and i very easily beat one of these Fabias with 210hp. As a bonus my car sounded a lot better and didnt belch out black smoke.
I had one of these for my second car, remapped with only a pd160 intake and uprated air filter, ran 200 bhp, shook its self to pieces and snapped 4 engine mounts. I had to put an uprated clutch in it after 16k miles. Smoked like crazy, I absolutely loved this car. Drove it like I stole it. Probably a cube now.
i had a std pd130 ibiza and snapped an engine mount also. Maybe they were underspec for the car... wish Id never sold it and put a map on the thing.

Great video, great content Alex. Also good to see Darkside in the mix, i have had a few parts from them in the past for my MK4 Golf GT TDi, they even gifted me a free intercooler hose for my EGR delete kit and they were extremely helpful on the phone at 12pm on a saturday morning giving me advise when i was installing my intercooler. Now that is customer service as it should be.

Those VRS Fabia diesel engines are one of the best 1.9 TDIs I have ever sat in. Even a factory remap they pull like a train. I genuinely wish they came back to production.
Darkside do some seriously cool stuff, been watching their stuff for a while. It’s also nice to see this car coming along nicely.
Amazing content Alex, you’re absolutely killing it. Loved my Fabia vRS, even had black leather seats for that added luxury touch!
Love this, the vRS is my guilty pleasure car, regret selling mine more than any other car I've owned. I've also followed the guys at Darkside for a long time and my A3 has a turbo from them in it after the original became a screamer.. Great value and service delivery wise too, def recommend them!

I was following a blue 07 the other day, the limited ones. It was ruined !! Lowered too much and covered in black soot
love this build, great place Darkside and loads of bits on the shelf , next door is SRS too for salvaged spares its the place to go for VAG parts.
Alex, I recently bought a fabia vrs and within two weeks it absolutley shat its pants. I had to replace the engine, turbo and flywheel and clutch .All back together now and running beutifully and I have a great little fun commuter car .
next few months and it will be getting a similar spec build and I will be getting sut of the pop and shart map that it has on it.
I met Ryan last year at the Yorkshire Motorsport Festival, he's a nice guy.. My passat will find it's way to Darkside this year for a tune hopefully.. great job Alex :)

Awesome, I remember building up my MK4 Golf with Darkside gear, I managed to get around 170hp out of it on a full 130 setup before I let it go. I missed the PD Life so much I went back to it!
A veritable smorgasbord of car jeopordy, coolant leak, wheelspin and torque steer, rolling coal (welcome back you have been missed), clutch slip (you haven't been missed sorry - you're too familiar a friend tbh), knackered injectors and lets not forget a cameo role for the Police. Bravo to all who made that happen.

This was my first ever car in that same colour too lol, bought it off my grandparents and it was such a good car. Could clutch down uphill and never stall.

Spent many hours flying up and down the bypass near Darkside 😅 I remember test driving a fabia pd130 with my best mate a week after I passed my driving test.. dealership didn’t take any ID or come on the test drive either! 😂

I had vw golf mk4 4motion estate and it had 300whp/550nm(lots of darkside goodies), good sleeper for sure and fun af!
Golf mk4 4motion estate must be rare.
Aren't the 4motion mk4 golf rear floor shared with the audi TT I don't think it ever lent itself to the estate model.

This was my all time favourite car I’ve owned. Let me paint the picture… It was 2009, I was 19. All my friends had either Saxo VTR’s, 106 GTI’s and fiesta zetec S’. I went for the PD130 and absolutely rinsed them 😂 until my other mate who was earning a lot of money bought a civic Type R, he beat me 😂. Great times….
Nice spec. I had. Cupra R pd160 with egr delete and offshelf map to 195bhp so basically the same spec as yours. Pulled so well!

What mpg do you get?

Intercooler install looks good, thought you could'nt fit the front mount piping to a VRS with the Xenon lights?

Love a Fabia VRS, cracking cars. Massive shout to Darkside, always helpful when I've spoken to them. My Skoda Octi started life with 140hp, now it's close enough to 300 with just under 460lbft

£15-£20 grand to get a normal fabia to the level that 400bhp is at 🤣🤣 darkside are decent but honestly they buy a £200 product, put their name on it and charge £800. £10k max to get your fabia the same as that 400bhp one including wheels etc. You can actually get pd130/150 to 400bhp for around £5k. Darkside are massively overpriced!
They wanted £800 to remap my Touareg, didn't bother in the end. They know how to charge.

@Paul Inman that's crazy! Honestly, they're ridiculous. There's a place called "PD Parts and Tuning" they're known as the best in the UK for mapping PD's and think they charged me about £150 back when I had my Golf done. Don't know how darkside get away with it tbh.
@@sam8954 Not all their products are expensive, £300 for a large fmic for my A5 3.0 tdi was alright. They (like all successful businesses ) know what they’re doing and what demographic to target.

Love the PD130's. Proper fan used to have an ibiza FrTDi 130. Mapped really nicely by p-torque who got 317ftlb torque, it used to suprise everyone off the light's. Pocket soot rockets

I've got the Golf 2.0 PD and always thought newer is better. You can get 240hp just with a bigger turbo as well. but I just love this car

I had a Skoda Fabia 1.2htp Combi/Estate which I had plans bigger than my wallet.
I so wanted too put the PD130 Engine in it lower it etc but keep it as a sleeper.
Sadly due too family circumstances and life in general I had too let the old Combi go.
I'd still love to do my dream in a few years.

Took my old A3 TDi there for some work, did a reconned turbo as it was overboosting. What those guys know… and their passion. 👍
I love my Fabia post Darkside visit. On track though, say goodbye to 40+ mpg. But its not all bad, the lowest that I have seen is 19 mpg. Not bad when a lot of the petrol cars around me are struggling to get much over 10 mpg.... Brands Indy circuit sees 20-24 mpg. Even just going for a (law abiding) drive on the road it always makes me grin. I always feel like its a car doing things that realistically, it shouldn't really do.

Mate of mine had a fab vrs tuned to around 300 brake, engine went in another mates lupo GTi so they decided to put the 300 brake lump in it. Absolute animal to drive! Biggest downside was it needed a thorough clean on the back end every time you went anywhere in it 😂
I’ve always fancied one of these. They do feel like little pocket rockets with returning decent mpg.
My question would be would it pass an MOT with the EGR delete?
It won't pass with the driver airbag delete.
