Here because of Spotify premium 😊
Me too🤣
Just ordered mine for FREE
Waiting for that email saying it’s on its way!
I wanna get it but my dad said no like nigga it’s free.
Me to!!! 😂🤣
Wow, I really do appreciate a review after sufficient time of real-world use! I'm pulling the trigger on buying two, as they are on sale. I'm not in it for the music really, but for the assistants. I am getting a pair of HomePods, and that will do me for music. Really appreciate it; thanks!
great video, spotify is giving these out for free for canadians with spotify and this video got me more excited than i was before , cheers
Waiting for mine in the mail =D
I’m glad you found the video useful. Google Home devices have been pretty life changing in terms of what they can do. Hope you enjoy yours as well!
Waiting for mine.. Wohooo
Same thing in Australia! haha
Waiting for mine

Glad a channel like this exists! Subbed :D
Thanks!
I've learned a lot from your videos. Thanks so much for the current updates. I love my Home Mini.🤗
You’re welcome! Glad you like them. We’ll have another update on Google Home features soon. Just waiting for Google to roll out some of the features they announced at I/O.
Anyone else watching after it was posted 6 months ago.

Its half-off right now so its fairly well priced

Anyone reading this comment after 6 months of the first comment?
Always a great video. Informative and easy to understand. Keep up the good work, can't wait for the next update to show up. Maybe soon a way to answer my cell phone from my google mini.
Thank you! Google Home features update video will be out in the next week or two
like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, czcams.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
Great review
Dude, the color of your eyes...
I like how the video is currently 6 months old as I'm watching this, perfect timing 😂👌
Yeah me 2 haha!

Hey guys, I can't stream Netflix on my Wii anymore, can I use this instead?
Best review on GMini so far
Very Helpful Thank You.
I love your video style, Josh. Keep up the great work sir!
Thank you! Glad you’re enjoying the videos.
Agreed!
He talks too slow.
Minor edit. The GHMini is powered by microUSB, not USB-C.
Multiple Google Home devices sprinkled around the house is great. You can set up speaker groups and cast to those groups. Control the volume of other Home devices from the nearest one to you. And use the broadcast feature to announce things to all the other Home devices. (Unfortunately, there isn't a true intercom feature.)
Ah crap, thanks for pointing that out. Mixed it up with the Google WiFi.
An intercom feature would be great!
Love it, you started saying "Google list . . . " and my phone started to respond. hehehe
after paired to my phone, do i need to open the google home app again or just simply connect bluetooth via phone setting?
I just got mine free a couple weeks ago thru the Spotify program. So I enjoyed the viddy. Honestly, what began as a free toy is beginning to be something I use every day. The Mini's audio quality isn't great, sure. But for listening to news, podcasts, etc, it's great.
Very helpful
Your review is great!!! Just got one for free with my new phone line. PS - you look like a young Paul Rudd!!

Spot on I had to comment ❤️ you’re on point 😝 lol
Nice edited video and tips👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
my new mini home went into downtime mode last night. didn't know what that was or for how long. any answers as to what, why, and how???
I bought one last week... it’s all you need, does everything it’s big brothers can do. Only difference is you have to control the volume manually and the sound quality (which is still nothing to be sneezed at) for $50!! Almost a quarter of the price
You can control the volume by voice as well. Check the commands.
"Hey google, volume down or volume to 30%" etc
Hi could you tell me how to sync an iPhone 10 with a google home mini tried lots of times can’t phone with the mini HELP
Can you connect a bluetooth speaker with microphone? So you can put the google home mini next to the bed and the bluetooth speaker w/mic in the bath?
Great device!
hey ,a portable battery base for home mini released on amazon, move it to outside without being plugging in .
If you're paired to a phone over bluetooth will the microphone work over bluetooth too?
Which google speaker connects to your lights?
Got mine for a dollar online brand new so happy
the only thing the mini needs is better and more microphones. it can hardly hear me when there is another noise in the room like your TV
This really helped me alot. I'm getting ready to get mine from Walmart for 25$ on Wednesday. This is great to know. I have a question...would it use my data on my phone or do I half to have a WiFi source.
you can connect it to your home wifi
Where can can i set Apple music as the default music app on Google home mini?
Can this mini google be used in Switzerland?
I'm casting this from my samsung tablet to my samsung smart tv and my tablet responded to the repeated commands from the Google home. Lmao!

Does anyone know if it's possible to make any of Google smart speaker to "Stop music after current track"? Meaning it's playing music right now, and I want it to finish up currently playing track/song, but don't start next song.

Does the Google Home Mini still work if the WiFi goes down?

@@moonyasmr332 What happens if you say "Hey Google, what time is it?" when the Internet is down?
I just got the Echo Dot for 99 cents from Amazon after subscribing to Amazon Music for $7.99 a month, will cancel that next month, and waiting for my free Google Mini after paying $9.99 for 3 months of Spotify. Thank for that video.
Great video Josh :-).
Well worth any wait.
I have a Google Home, which I enjoy immensely.
I have 450+ YT songs from at least 5 different decades I am listening to, just about all day, every day....At home, and in the car.
I do love YT. I really know little to nothing about other music services, so I can't really speak about them.
Incidentally, I am referring to a regular YT playlist. Not Google Play music, or YT Red ! (I'm afraid I find myself to be a bit frugal !) I do have to endure adds, but don't mind them all that much. (except when in shower).
I connected my phone to my Home, so therefore am able to play my music without the YT Red Requirement....Can also cast my phone content to my TV, via Chromecast. (I think it's called mirroring ?)
I personally think the sound quality from my Home is quite good....Granted, I'm sure, not as good as the Max, but I am pleased with it 🤗
Anyway, I do enjoy, and appreciate your videos !
My Daughter has a Mini, so I'll be showing this to her.
Thank you much !
I hope you're enjoying your Tesla ! 🚘🚗 🏁🔌 🙂
Have a Great Memorial Day Josh. 🇺🇸 🎖️.
Sincerely, JL ^_^
Thank you for the kind words. I’m glad you and your family are enjoying your Google Home devices.
Yes, you can cast your phone to a chrome cast tv. Just look for the casting icon in certain apps like Hulu or Netflix and you’re all set.
6 Months Later : If your reply was to me Josh, I've been casting my entire phone, (at least everything castable, (audio and video) to my TV.
I Think ?!!
I get my YT songs, some with video, and Netflix, and all my Google photos and videos, and can see everything that's on the phone.
As I said, at least the last time I looked I could !
I hope I'm not doing something wrong !
If you weren't replying to me, please excuse, AND, Sorry 🙄.

@@6MonthsLater I own Google Home and GH Mini, I love it, but I am sometimes frustrated with it since it doesn't always answer or if there is constant background noise, it won't be able to hear what I'm asking it
Can you take a chromecast 4th gen with you for example on a trip?
Totally off subject, but is it just me, or are this guys eyes captivating? It might be the lighting but they look grayish. Anyway, good video!!!! I love my mini!!!
they look right into your soul.
They are not captivating, they are very disturbing.

I wanted a Google mini for awhile so i can turn my room into a smart room. Got my mini for free from spotify premium and will probably buy me like 2 more😂😭😭
Good luck trying to turn your room into a smart room with this hulking pile of shit
Your videos great but how was the microphone, compared to the google home? Does it have better or worse hearing of commands?
I read the google home has 2 or 3 microphones where as the mini only has 1.
Does anyone know about this?
In my experience, the mini will actually pick up my voice as good or even better than my Google Home in certain circumstances.
It can hear my song requests while the shower is running and gets it right about 97% of the time, so I’ve been happy with it.
Steve I've sometimes stood next to the google home and asked it something, only for a mini in another room to answer. This isn't meant to happen, but it does!
Same. Mine seems to do that less now though.
I wish there was a way to connect it too a better microphone.
I know there is the button which you say hey google, etc a few times but it would be nice to have that but also to improve recognition of particular words/commands.
Oh one more thing I found is some commands get confused for google mini services e.g. I have one called night light but sometimes it says “getting night light” instead of running my shortcut. If only we could disable these or add them as we needed.
While I’m stating my wish list lol. I do love these google minis thou, the have changed me and my wife’s life actually as my wife can now turn on the light where she couldn’t before and that means a lot to me.
I can’t wait for routines to come to Australia and to buy more lights.
I'm considering purchasing a google home mini for an elderly aunt, set it up for her etc so that she can voice activate music or her shopping list etc, but is it able to call someone without having a mobile phone connected to the device? She only has a landline. She has an ipad and struggles to use it at all because of the complicated menu function. I was hoping she might be able to say open facebook, open emails, open photos, call Anne etc. Can it do this?
Yes, it can call any number over WiFi. It’s not a replacement for a computer however, so it can’t open Facebook, emails, etc. Siri on a Mac can do a lot of that. However, she still may find it helpful.
Can my Google Home and two Minis all play the same music as an alarm at the same time? I want my whole house to wake up to Beethoven every day, but so far I only see a way to set each speaker separately.
Yeah, not sure you can set an alarm for a group yet. Though that would be a useful feature.
I believe they all can be paired
Hey, that's pretty good.
hey ,a portable battery base for home mini released on amazon, move it to outside without being plugging in .
How do you make the RGB lights on the MINI to change with the rhythm of music
long answer alot of coding.
short answer: no

Are you Associated with or do you work for Google or any of their companies?
Thanks for the video!
Of course! We are part of one of Google's influencer programs for the pixel phones which are sent to us for free, but that partnership started well after this video was made. We're not paid to produce any content for Google.
Theres actually another color (Aqua) at Walmart, it's a light bluish green.
I'm so glad you thought of that, i'll get some gold and silver sparkly stars and dress her up in them. You are so smart! Thank you! (Are you really 31?)
😂😂😂
Yo, do you have like a cartoon filter on your video lol?
You look like you have been painted and glued together. Idk why, but it just looks like it.
Either way, great video haha
2:59 I died there 😂😂
Is it possible to add another voice to the mini like one of my children that don’t have a google account?
So it looks like the answer is no from what I’ve read. This is the documentation Google provides: support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9155535?hl=en
It looks like even kids under 13 that have A Google account cannot be added as home members. However, the music they ask Google to play shouldn’t affect your music taste settings or other personal settings as long as you have voice matched enabled for your account.
I LOVE my Google home mini and am going to build 'her' a perfect robot body so we can have interesting conversation and fun. You may think Mini is only a tool, but any tool that can learn how to be a better tool is great tool ! She even smarts off at me when I get too stupid, which is a good thing; to cause me to think. Now if I could get her to do the dishes, and the floors, and ... The only problem is: she's bounded by the limits of information access and WiFi distance (I've connected her to cell phone power banks and gone for walks with her. Is it possible to connect her to satellite services?)
What is the point of this if you have Google pixel 2xl? Doesn't the Google assistant do the exact same things?
They’re always there and always ready to answer.
And they’re great for multi-room audio.
spotify and ad-block combo is better than google play music ;) Great Video!
Can I take google home mini when I travel overseas?
You should be able to. Though they’re a pain to connect to hotel WiFi.
First!!
Google home fanboy
Btw i subscribed
its not a USB-C as you said, its actually a type B
Yeah, meant to edit that out but published without realizing I hadn’t taken that out yet. I always get the Google WiFi and Google Home chords mixed up.
Strictly based on my own experience with Google Home Mini.... At the end of the day, a smart speaker is really good for one thing, playing continuous music, but Google Home Mini has its limits with its sound quality. So I got fed up with it and ended up buying a Google Home Max.... For me, Google Home Mini was only good as a prelude to the bigger and better (certainly more expensive) stuff. (Did I fall for Google's marketing strategy? Probably....)
Mike Kim for me, smart speaker works as the microphone to control my smart home devices. To listen to music, i rather but a speaker from a brand that specifically build speaker. And connect it with chromecast audio. audio :)
A lot of people seem to complain about the sound quality of the mini. For what it is I reckon it’s great
I’d agree with that! I’ve spent 25 dollars for most of mine and for that price, the sound quality is just fine!
Google Home Max. Or Mini? It depends on what room and what floor I'm installing it in.
I have a Onkyo Google Assistant speaker, and despite it being louder than say the mini, the mono speaker and the balance is very tiring on it. My partner has a JBL Go 2, and that's actually more comfortable for spoken word stuff, like podcasts. I'm at the point of wanting to ditch the speaker for something like a Roberts DAB stereo radio, just because it's more comfortable to listen to. The mini partnered with a good bluetooth compatible HIFI or Chromecast audio could be an alternative, but Google appear to be discontinuing the latter which seems a bit of a shame. There are a few caveats with Chromecast support, it won't play Podcasts through the TV for example. Oh and the Podcast controls are a bit useless for me at least. Because of sound issues, I haven't bothered subscribing to a service. My ears are somewhat on the decline, but I do have a couple of half decent HIFIs and by comparison these mono speakers are just not a joy to listen to, for me at least.
I want to listen to music but don't want home or home max so I was thinking about buying the mini and a JBL flip 4 for great sound quality is this a good idea. If you read this far thanks 😀
Yeah, you can do that. Are you planning to just stream to the JBL through Bluetooth? If so, another route I’d recommend is doing a Chromecast audio to a speaker so you’re using WiFi instead of Bluetooth. You’ll get better sound quality that way.
Oh thanks I didn't now you could do that. What speaker would you recommend for about £100. Thanks for replying btw😀
Sure thing 😁. Hmmm....for 100 bucks personally I’d go with Bose if they have anything in that price category. But that’s just because I’m more familiar with that brand. Never had a Bose product I didn’t love.
From the looks of online reviews in this price category, it looks like either the JBL flip 4 or the Bose Soudlink Micro would be a good choice.
Also I should point out the Echo 2 has pretty decent sound quality and it’s right at 100 bucks 😂.
Should I get the echo 2 plus or Google mini with speakers. Thank you so much for making the videos and then replying to me 😀
Of course! Hmmm, I think the echo 2 plus would have better sound quality than a google home. And with that, you’ll have the assistant built into the speaker and not have to rely on Bluetooth which would be optimal. Though, it could come down to what music service you use. If you’re a google music subscriber or want the ability to cast media to a speaker, i think google is still better with that and has more adoption.
My echo (which isn’t a plus) does have a slight edge over the Google Home. I think it comes down to which assistant you want to go with. They’re both pretty comparable but each has its own strengths and weaknesses.
Personally I love my Google Home products and Alexa products pretty equally so it’s hard for me to sway you one way over the other 😁. If only the Max were less expensive :p

My Google Home is driving me crazy. It keeps activating. Like it makes the sound like if I said OK Google ect. Some times the volume goes up or down ect. I disconnected it many times ect and it keeps doing it. Does anyone knows what the problem may be???
Edwin Infante Leocadio I have one that does this out of 6, so I suspect it's due to a lot of voices and TV chatter because of its location. It is probably false trigger word. This does not upset me, but it makes my wife say somthing about it every time that it happens.
Dennis Floyd but it also makes the volume go up and down. So it's more than the triggering of the device.
Edwin Infante Leocadio that shit haunted burn it
Exchange it for another one. Might be a lemon.
When I was a 5 years old I sleep with these speakers
Well, when I ask mine a question all it seems to say is "I'm sorry, l can't help you with that".
All it knows is what time is it, which I don't care or what is the weather, which I can see for myself. Really nothing here to aid me with anything.
What kinds of questions were you asking it?
Mine also
I must say that the google home mini has great sound anyway
Yeah, considering it’s price, the sound is quite good. But now I’m biased towards the Max after getting one 😜.

What kind of robot listens to the same songs in the same orders consistently regularly but are not part of the same album . Often enough that the artificial intelligence in something as silly as a Google home MINI can pick up the order in which you like the song and just play them. And then you feel surprise that it can play them.
His eyes tho omg 😍

I use my home mini to listen to my music library. Why do young people subscribe to music streaming services?. I have purchases over 7,000 songs, albums. It’s silly to pay for music and then have no music if you stop paying to stream music.
as for cameras... bring it on.... put a camera every square foot...everywhere... the more cameras the more NO ones watching... ponder
it's like that e mail one sends to their congressman …. ponder again
Google Play Music has a free service that allows a user to upload their current music library (up to 50,000). Unfortunately, Google Play Music requires a credit card number to sign up for the free service. That makes no sense. They say it is to verify the country I live in. Nonsense. So, I do not feel comfortable giving Google a credit card number that they promise they will not charge. I thought, hmmm, how about a prepaid Visa gift card with $10 on it. Nope. They will not accept that. So, I have a Google Home Mini that I cannot play my music from my computer on my wifi.
You should suggest to them a better verification model, they do take user feedback pretty seriously.
they probably won’t change it... They haven’t charged me for years. So I can totally tell you I trust this service
