@@tnt01 yeah but i mean when you look at her earliest show h2o she has those cheekbones only she was chubbier. i mean she's 17 there i don't think she had surgery at that age. her cheekbones started to be seen more clearly as she lost a lot of fat percentage when she became a vegetarian. but who knows maybe she did have surgery at 16 or sth before she was famous

Hi! I too am puzzled by how to deal with a filter- perfect world. I find myself drawn to classic European models of beauty to inspire my daily looks. The focus on French and Italian beauty styles which tend to be earthier and fresh, guide me away from overdoing makeup. As a Canadian from the Montreal region, the European approach is reinforced and appreciated.
I find myself at odds with it too. Being an Indian, we already deal with a lot of contradictory stands on "beauty". The takeaway from European beauty standards could be being comfortable in your skin, about what you said the approach to look earthy. This is why representation matters, because people think, "This is what beautiful looks like without make-up on." European beauty has been long immortalised in art and media. That's why it skews our perspective.

By the way, Phoebe Tonkin is not European, but Australian. And the makeup in Australia is done in a simililar way to Europe, focusing in the sunscreen, skincare and showing the natural beauty.
use tea tree oil for your pimples, dab it on a Q-tip make sure to dilute the Q-tip with water as well. It WORKS!

As a mom (and former parenting advice pro) to 3 grown-up, bright, confident young women who had to navigate all of that stuff, my advice is: 1) Limit social media time (a 10- yr old on social media like Facebook and Instagram is a bit early, IMHO), at least exercise parental controls on what they’re “feeding” themselves. 2) Focus on praising them for their strength as individuals, their creativity, how hard they work, and not on their looks (Although, OF COURSE you tell your girls you think they’re beautiful, but that’s not the main message they get from mom & dad.) 3) Make sure their relationship with their dad is strong and that he makes time for them to do things that THEY want to do. 4) We don’t do our kids any favors by finding ways for them to fit in with the crowd and be cool. Celebrate them swimming against the grain!

I’m not a mom and don’t think I have to be to agree with everything you just said lol! I’m still human and have always been very observant to what is going on around me as far as how children are easily influenced by social media these days. It makes me sad sometimes to hear how a lot of girls (especially)say they don’t feel pretty or good enough just because they have a little body hair coming in or skinny legs. If I could go back in time I wish I “worried” more about learning how to swim laps and change a tire haha!

Remember it's normal for girls at any age to ask about their skin and makeup, even to put on high heels and wear someone else's bra. I've even seen my daughter stuff her tummy with a pillow as early as age 3. This is because as women we have estrogen and it's a natural expression of our hormone. But, to keep our little girls balanced we should allow them to express a feminine interest naturally (without judgement) and indulge with reason and then allow them to move on. It also helps to counterbalance with a nature activity. I know. Easier said than done. But, don't react...just indulge a little in play and move on.
When I was a little girl staying at my nanna's I put on one of her bras and stuffed them and walked out so proudly to see if she noticed and would play pretend with me. She reacted very badly, screaming at me and saying terrible things. It was a real shocker and placed profound doubts in what little self esteem I was trying to develop. So, thank you for your healthy advice!🧡👍

Yes, it's noticeable. There was one photo of her uploaded on her Instagram not so long ago (during a dinner, I think) where the redness and puffiness around her lips is striking. For a long time I couldn't put my finger on what have changed since the H20 production, but I think there was some needle involved
