      Let me make it simple, use your credit card as if it were a debit card. If you buy something with a credit card make sure you have enough to buy it with your debit card. Then after 2 days when it processes pay it off so you don’t forget. This is the easiest way to make sure you don’t get any debt (using the card wrong) that you can’t pay off

    • @Chubbies34
      @Chubbies34 Před 8 měsíci +33

      Eventually once you’re good at managing your costs you can start paying off once a month before you have to pay the bill so you don’t get charged any fees. You can even set up auto pay so you don’t have to worry about this just worry about the balance you’re putting on the card

      Try “Self Lender” to get started if u have zero credit. IE; u take $200 minimum & give to self lender. They then give u a card with the Exact Spending limit as u gave them CASH. It’s a deposit. $200 up to $3k… Now, take that card, buy a full tank of gas ⛽️ & Pay Off Fully! One time per month & after 3 months, BAM! 💥 Great Credit Score ✅

    • @Octaviomm213

      I suggest keeping the cards active and using them monthly, I advise you use about 10% of the credit limit because you still want to use it to build credit. Especially if they are beginner to mid tier cards more than likely there are no anual fees also closing a line of credit can effect your credit score to an extent but if you keep watching more videos and take the time to learn it’s actually very easy :)!

    • @zBMatt
      @zBMatt Před 7 měsíci

      I’d say go for discover it or quicksilver depending on what best suits your needs. Then get the chase beginner cards on this list once you have 700+ FICO and 1 yr+ of history. After that get the Bilt card to cover your rent but you’ll need 4 more purchases to qualify for its rewards. Then grab the Chase sapphire preferred or reserved, again based on your needs, and you’ll have completed the chase trifecta which is the most powerful (I think) trifecta out of AMEX, CapOne, and Chase. After this if you dine a lot it’s worth grabbing the Amex gold and then using the rewards to transfer to partners shared between it and the chase cards.

    if you had 50 i imagine you cancelled some as well ,did that affect your score?

    • @amonsblade
      @amonsblade Před 4 měsíci

      yes canceling effects your score. if it has an annual charge, you can always ask to downgrade cards to avoid the fee.
      also you have to use them like 1 or twice a year to keep them from being listed as inactive. (you can literally buy a pack of gum) and as long as your autopay is turned on for all each if your cards, you’re all good.

    What is a beginner card? Or what makes a card a beginner card?

    • @anthonygarcia3922
      @anthonygarcia3922 Před 6 měsíci

      All credit cards have different benefits. Beginner cards are good for people trying to build credit with "less" responsibilities. For example, majority of credit cards have APR% interest. A beginner/student credit card would offer you credit cards with no APR interest for up to a year and a limit of maybe $1500-$2000. So you can learn how a credit card works without so many factors in the way. The more experience you get as a credit card holder, the more limit you can get. Like for me, my first credit card had a limit of $1800, Now 4 years later I have my 3rd credit card with a limit of $15,000. Basically, the more you earn their trust and prove you can manage your credit card, the more they are willing to give you.

      @roadrunner40 Před 6 měsíci

      @@anthonygarcia3922 thank you for your reply. I know there are levels to most things. I've seen CZcamsrs call Chase Freedom Unlimited, Citi Custom Cash, Amex Blue Cash Everyday & SoFi, beginner cards. I disagree. With lower income and credit scores beginners cannot even qualify for those cards.
      A beginner card to me would be secured cards and crappy cards like Bilt, Mission and others that are very easy to get approved, have very high apr and charge lots of fees.

    Is it good to have multiple credit cards?

    • @Killercupcake100
      @Killercupcake100 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes, when you want to apply to things like loans for cars they will look at your credit file. You could have a high credit score with one card and they wouldn’t approve you for a loan bc you don’t have multiple lines of credit/ large credit history.

      credit churning is a pretty low effort tactic to get paid by credit card companies. open a card before you make some planned purchases, get the sign on bonus. boom free $200, free $500, whatever the offer is. rinse and repeat. just don’t play yourself buying a bunch of stuff you don’t need and go into debt
