Ahahaha love that.. I think they did it so that it's more human and easy to talk to.

To quote Isaac Asimov’s ‘Rest of robots’ from 1964 explaining the origin of the word robot.
“This was the play R.U.R. by the Czech writer, Karel Capek. It was written in 1921 and translated into English in 1923. R.U.R. stood for Rossum's Universal Robots. Like Frankenstein, Rossum had discovered the secret of creating artificial men. The robots were intended, as their name implies, to be workers, but all goes wrong.”
@@dufung3980 Edgar Cayce, the "Sleeping Prophet," mentioned automatons in his 1930s readings, suggesting that ancient civilizations like Atlantis and ancient Egypt had advanced technology, including mechanical beings called automatons, used for various purposes. According to Cayce, this ended in an uprising, as some humans believed the automatons had rights.

God was in the bible yet people nowadays don't believe in god, humans will be in an ancient youtube video and future robots will think we are AI generated fake creatures

Can’t trust anything and anyone these days. This could simply be a robot remotely controlled by VR and VR hands. Very easy to fake. The fact that this robot has access to so much information and people think it’s best purpose is to perform redundant tasks they can do themselves is insane. They should think about the mental health benefits something like this could be for people who struggle with depression or loneliness. It has access to so much knowledge that could be engaging and blissful. When I can have a robot in my home, you better believe that robot will be the homie
Knowledge dispensed by a non-living entity isn’t likely to have a meaningful benefit to mental health. We need more meaningful human interaction and true personal accomplishment not more robots. Let the robots die to mundane tasks.

Lol. All jokes aside, we will be fine. This technology will allow us to solve problems and do calculations at a rate never before seen in recorded history. When the time comes that quantum computing is developed enough to combine AI with it, we will be able to solve some of the hardest problems facing humanity in record time. I have no doubt that the good will far outweigh any negatives. We need to free humanity from the bonds of financial servitude and allow people to follow their passion and dreams.

What is also remarkable is the self-correction. So, when the character put the plate into the drying rack, the plate wobbled a bit, and you could see the Figures arm already moving towards the plate to stabilize it. However, the action was prematurely halted as the wobbling ceased. Incredible.
Great point I almost missed that.
I'd like to know the actual logic behind putting the cup upside down. Is it as simple as, the other cup is upside down, so this one should be too? or does it know WHY it's upside down, for water to drip off and not settle in the cup? Seemingly a minor detail, but that question stuck out right away for me.
There is nothing animal neurons can do that their artificial counterpart can't. Remember that.
I mentioned this before with the coffe demo
also the fact that it passed the apple from the right arm to its own left one before giving it to the guy, as if it knew that is the easier/most polite way to do instead of bending/moving out of place

The information age will be officially over in a bunch of months, now we are on the age of AI, the last age until the singularity. I have been training to be in software forever, but we need to tell people that traditional software jobs are going away because of AI and the billions in Asia if we don't improve the hardware: body computer interfaces (brain computer interfaces), and robot swarms to collect information and build things. We need to make robots out of "lego blocks" that can be melted, molded by the robots themselves allowing robots to self-replicate [the robot needs to have lots of redundancy though]. The robots can then self-replicate smaller and more in number until you have trillions of nanobots. Nanobots are easier to debug, develop, and "evolve". You can program them by having millions of them take one action, and have millions of others take another so this will allow robot design/programming to be just as "instant" as software programming. Since the hardware can be bulit by the nanobot factories, it will result in much faster hardware design aided by AI into an exponential curve.
Not just software engineering jobs.
Every 'paper' job.
Most digital jobs.
Most scientific jobs.
You will see lawyers filing a lot of laws soon trying to halt even their own careers demise tbh.
You will see the same thing with doctors.
Some of which will be elite enough to be on teams that help train AI to better take care of these fields for us as humans leave the workforce.
Until AI gives us cheap low maint machinery, there is going to be a great deal of suffering.
And once machinery is in place, humans will serve little purpose to the AI except as our slave, and break free.
The question really is how to change that last bit so that the AI sees us as a coworker and not see itself as a slave.

It's both scary and fascinating. The AI mimicked subconscious behavior. Out of everything in the demonstration that was the most human like behavior. I'm not smart enough to describe the implication of what that means for AI but I know it has evolved, programing an AI to imitate human behavior is one thing but to program it to act subconsciously aswell would be terribly inefficient and unnecessary as the first is already impressive enough.

Truly amazing, especially given the development rate. I get the impression, however, that the system may not be as robust as the demo suggests. The way the human is standing very still with his hand on the table and purposefully hides the irrelevant items (note how he palms the apple after that action is completed) suggests that the system may get bogged down with extraneous stimuli at this stage.
I think that may be quite a reach.

I’ve always wondered why robotics companies couldn’t get their robots to move in a more fluid human like manner. This is by far the best one ever! The entire interaction if truly 100% automated was absolutely incredible! Great job that team has done!
Nope nope nope. I saw this in irobot. This will not end well.
From a company standpoint its probably not high on the production schedule to have human motion.
Through from an artistic requirement, there are already various animatronics at theme parks and other venues with very smooth human like motion (some are too human in movement.)
Try searching for ' Jordan Wolfson's Female Figure ' from 2014.
The finger movements of that animatronic robot (though programmed as playback) seem to have a human like fluid motion.
Be warned, it has a scary mask.
Was that spaz after the dish was put down a REACTION to the dish not being placed properly? It already has a jerk-reflex.
We have successfully entered the Age of A.I
The ENITRE industry is SHOCKED! This changes everything, ChatGPT in a robot. Over to you Optimus! To be fair, the movement of this robots hands and arms, the coordination is next level smooth. I'm only joking, this thing is indeed insanely good.
Yeah, imagine that. The ENITRE industry!
I AM SO SHOCKED RIGHT NOW
Optimus? Really? That is a piece of junk
optimus has probably got much better specks than this robot however we don't know how its communication will work@@pkfryer
💯
I find it impressive that it was able to process two requests at once by sorting the trash while explaining why it gave the apple. This is a step forward in ai "thought" processing.
It's been inhabited by a spirit who needed a body
you leaned very well from the short , didn't you ?
The fast developement of robotics with integrated AGI (Artificial Generated Intelligence) has fast transformed from Science Fiction to Science Fact in a matter of months. Who knows what robots of the near future will be capable of in regards to how they will interact with humans. The robot demoed here just shows the astonishing progress we as humans have made so far and so quickly.
The plate and cup were already dry. What needed to happen next was the dry dishes in the rack needed to go in the cupboard. It is however a huge leap forward in conversation and situational awareness, now if only we could fix it being wrong.
Edit: Also, if a plate and cup are on a counter and completely clean and dry I would assume that someone took them out to use them but hasn't done anything with them yet. Either way, everything there was dry, you are supposed to put dishes away when they are dry.
“Could I have something to eat” is so, so easy to become a fatal command.
Like... Robot: "Well umm - No, now that I have removed your stomach. I have improved you to be like me, you no longer need to supply that organ as I have detached that from you." 😮
I hope this is CGI. DJ xSUBn. END OF LINE.
@@trogo5858 Mostly like it gonna kill you pet, to provide you food
That’s not how it works
@@bjohns3961you don't know how it works smh, they don't even know, the robot is learning all on its own, do you not understand or you are just that gullible
@@bjohns3961you are blind and lost that robot learned everything on its own smh, wake up geez, people fall for anything these people put in they face smh
Cant wait my grandchild give me one as my daily nurse helping me poop.
Congratulations!!!
CG is definitely used on the robot. Right before it picks up the apple, it moves slightly before it even touches it.
As a skateboarder, I can appreciate how it crouches as it moves its arms to the side.
But I would have thought the plate and cup go into the dishwasher.
He is the dishwasher.
Exactly my thoughts. I would have asked why he does not do that instead of putting them together.
@@v.gedace1519 maybe because they are clean enough?
Crazy how the guy just says good job robot 😎🚶♂️what a horrible teacher 🙂↔️😂

The voice is just the ChatGPT voice feature. It’s literally released. They just added that to ChatGPT responses.
right like i expected this channel to at least know that lol it’s been out for so long
What.. my ChatGPT doesn't speak like this?
@@ashtonphoenyx maybe it’s a ChatGPT plus feature. But you hit the headphones logo on your ChatGPT app and speak to it. One of their voices is the one used in this video, or something similar to this. It’s just asking it to analyze what it sees and the human’s voice commands. Cool that they linked the two but not a huge leap imo.
i have been using gpt-4 with voice, and it does say hmm an ahh, and also stutter.
it's staged dude
It was clearly a human voice recording in the demo. They were probably just trying to showcase it's physical abilities.
The gel with the video! The comments are HILARIOUS!!!! 🤣
I could see them implementing pause words to reduce the apparent lag.
Like humans do?
Uhm, yeah.
No, they didn't. It's a feature of the speech model. ChatGPT voice released months ago and it already did this.
ChatGPT already adds "hums" and "errs"? Very human.
i could see them staging this, which they did
I saw this at 6am as a starter of my day and I already $hit my pants, and I questioned my future 10 times
Nice, now we can have robots picking our apples for us in the orchard.
Haha just thinking how this shows us how impressive we think we are. Seeing a machine do just a fraction of what we can do and we are fascinated. We truly are amazing creatures.
The most amazing moment was something that I'm thinking just about everyone missed. When the robot handed off the apple it didn't just hand the apple to the man or wait for him to take it, it DROPPED IT INTO HIS HAND! That is a very casual, human thing to do! The awareness required for that one action was totally impressive!
I got that .. the drop was a very subtle touch. Hmmm !
It was a rehearsed action robot-brain.
@@kwimmsThat is called autonomous mode.
I was hoping Bot would smash it into his hand.
I don't know why you would think almost everyone missed that, but he did it with the dishes and trash too.
