@@silverpro8356that’s a positive. Matte screens negatively impact clarity and degrade color accuracy. You can always get a matte glass screen protector.
This is the review I've been waiting on... Gonna order mine this week. I like the bigger screen and MW3 seems to run well... I'm game for the Legion Go
Deadzone fix is huuuuge.
Played a little today, and it looks like they also finally fixed the quick menu where you can use the controller to navigate without duplicating your inputs to the game. This was super annoying to deal with when trying to dial in settings, but glad it's sorted.
Hell yes!!! I ordered mine a few days ago, and still won't get it for another week. BUT, it's SO nice to see that my 2 biggest concerns were patched before mine even arrived.

I mostly game on series X but had a Steam deck for work (i work nights with lot's of down tim). Sold my deck to a friend after ordering the go. Being able to play my game pass and xbox play anywhere games in work, without streaming to my tablet will be great, along with my growing steam library.
I’m trying to figure out between the ROG or Legion for strictly playing MW3, I’m leaning towards the Legion after watching your vid. What battery backup charger are you using?

This thing impresses me more and more every day. The next update will make it extremely user friendly by packaging firmware updates with Legion Space updates. That’s how it should have been from the start but it is what it is 👍

You know the first video I watched by you was the first Lenovo Legion Go review, and after watching it i just assumed that you had millions of subscribers. glad to see it getting support, I had the ROG Ally, for a few weeks, returned it for the Legion Go, lovig it so far, yeah the sound was better on the Ally, but not by that much, to me anyway... I much prefer the Legion go setup, and thats before the updates that came like a day or so later. love taking the controllers off, and leaning back with the system on the desk, and playing whatever I am playing

Updates are great but we need a V2 version of the controller with some new redesign to help eliminate the wobbling
Sound on this thing does not really sound so great... Great to see them updating stuff do. I got the ROG Ally my selfs, and its a BEAST.. love to dock it to my Tv or just game on the couch in handheld.

Hey CJ, awesome video. I have a question about the device… how bad is the electromagnetic interference whilst charging and playing? Whenever I play and charge my handhelds I always have this “tingling” feeling on my hands and I suppose thats normal while charging and playing. (Do you know what i mean?) Also how hot does it get while charging and playing? I suppose it gets pretty hot right?

Seriously considering this or the oled steam deck. Was wondering, how secure are the controllers when attached to the go? Is there any movement?
There's a slight flex, it's not totally ridgid. It seems secure though. I still chose the legion go and i'm happy I did. Especially since they fixed both the deadzones, and that annoying glitch with settings inputs and that made your game character move around while you navigated the settings.
PSA: The controllers SLIDE off. Please don't pop them off like some of the other youtubers i'm seeing lol. Because obviously thats just going to weaken the attachment point, and THEN it might become an actual issue.
Btw, FPS mode isn't just for FPS games. It helps you in any game that can benefit from using a mouse.

I think ultimately it comes down to what you want to play on it. If you're thinking lots of emulation or indie games then the Deck is probably the better choice. If you're thinking the big AAA games, or lots of games on Game Pass, etc. then the Go is probably the better choice. It's not a case of one is better than the other, it's what do you want from a handheld.
@@hokayson6518 main games would be Baldurs gate 3, and divinity 2. But would also like to get fallout 3/nv, oblivion and Skyrim etc.
@@madisonstephens5564 I found the Deck screen a little small & the APU a little underpowered for BG3 personally. I've not actually tried it on the Go yet to see the difference but I'm much more hopeful given the extra CPU/GPU grunt it has. For those games I'd lean towards the Go personally. Are you likely to ever use the mouse feature (FPS Mode) of the Go?

I have both and the ally takes the gold for me, with the usual frames we are getting on these triple A games with this series of handhelds VRR is what makes it for me. If the legion go had VRR it would be the go for me, but it does not.
Even tho people tend to compare the legion go to the ally i feel like both products are different in their own way, they have the same APU and both are windows but other than that in my opinion it all depends on what you want.
Comparing the ally that has 6 months of fixes and updates on top isn't fair in my opinion. I remember wanting to get the ROG Ally on release and i ended up waiting because of all the problems it had in the beggining, both hardware related (SD Card problem) and software related (Ironing out of the Armory crate software).
Legion Go got announced during my waiting time and it really piqued my interest because i really wanted a bigger screen and love to be able to detach the controllers and just have a tablet to watch shows and do some work on it from time to time. To help even more, ended up getting a bluetooth foldable keyboard with touchpad when using the Go just as a tablet and i've been loving it.
The ROG Ally is amazing at the moment with all the work ROG has been doing on it for the past 6 months. It does have better speakers with dolby (I got to hear it in person and it truly is amazing sound for a handheld. I didn't mind that when going for the GO cuz i always end up using headphones but the GO speakers aren't that bad, if you have a legion laptop, it's pretty similar quality). The Ally screen has VRR which makes it more smooth when the FPS isn't that stable, if you are sensitive to that it might be a decision point for you, I am not so it isn't a problem to me, but i do understand people who might.
The Legion Go i can give personal experience on it. I have it since release and i have been loving the GO, yes it has software problems (All Legion Space related and BIOS related) and hardware problems but so did the Ally in the beggining, i feel like companies nowadays tend to beta test the products on their consumers.
Lenovo has been very transparent with it and they have a community group where they post roadmaps and updates every Friday, with what they are doing and what's going on.
All they have done for now has been great and been solving a lot of issues. The device already feels different since the first day i got it.
I feel like when the GO gets to the 6 months mark just like the Ally, a lot of problems will be fixed, their road map is huge and gets bigger by the week, with fixes and new features being added.
So to conclude after that massive text, i apoligize for that.
If you want a windows handheld that is light, compact, has great audio and performance, go for the ally.
If you don't mind having something with similar performance (I say that because the Ally clearly has better 15W performance than the GO, which due to the fact it's the same chip and the GO has faster RAM it clearly means it's software related problems) but again the Ally didn't have the performance it has now when it came out (One of the reasons i don't find comparing both fair).
The GO is also heavier, slightlly bigger than the steam deck, has detatable controllers, touch pad, integrated stand and the controller/mouse feature.
Doesn't mean that makes it better than the Ally, again i don't like comparing both, i feel like both are amazing devices on their own, in the end of the day it will depend what features you want or don't.
The controller/mouse feature I used it sometimes, it's actually pretty comfortable (To me and my hand) but i don't end up using it as much times as i thought i would, i guess it's a nice extra feature to have if that's your thing.
The GO well still has the problem of ironing out the issues it has at the moment, and for the coilwhine, its something that is being adressed by lenovo, my console has some but maybe not as much as other people are getting.
Honestly like it was said in the video, i am used to the sound of the fans on my desktop so it doesn't really bother me, but it can bother other people, everyone is different.
In the end both ROG Ally and the Legion Go are awesome devices, and you should go by your preferences and what you want the product for and how you wanna use it in your day to day life. Hope it was helpful :D
I gave my Ally to my wife and kept Go. The MUCH bigger screen is so much easier on my eyes.
Get the Go. Software is now better than release date & It's powerful than my steamdeck. Im playing all the AAA games on this badboy. And btw with that FSR3 this 144hz will become badboy. Because games will instantly get x2 framerates check on youtube those games who support fsr3 games framerste become steady 130-160fps. Vrr is scam , literally cant see any screen tearing on the Go. Its super fluid and screen is big which is immersive when u play AAA games. Best to check it for yourself. And remember fan noise is better than toasted internals anyday imma turn on that fan all day when playing , games can mask the sound

You seem to be doing great with the default response curve in Legion Space but you can also tweak that too with this latest update. Finally, no deadzones and better stick response!! It was a huge update!

All the PC based handhelds have been released half baked.. ALL OF THEM.. took Asus 5 months to get the Ally to useable, Took them a year to get Steam Deck to be OK... so Lenovo taking 2 months isn't bad and they ain't finished yet.

This product is just nowhere i guess, the plus side is just the screen size but its WAY too big to be a handheld so its basically marketed to be a tabletop gaming device with an fps twist. If you are playing tabletop you might as well use a laptop🤷 The design of its control is just so uncomfortable to hold with weird buttons at the expense of its "fps" gimmick. This thing is just a bit all over the place but a future release with "simpler" looking joycons may solve some issue.

@CJKnowsTECH Can you test yuzu and ryujinx on both ally and and go with mario kart 8, puyu puyu tetris, pokemon mystery dungeon dx, persona 4 golden and super smash ultimate and dolphin with pokemon xd gale of darkness and pokemon battle revolution i would like these games tested so i can choose which to buy between which runs those games better
I have the Z1 extreme Ally and I use Ryujinx I’ve had ZERO issues with my ally from experience I can tell you that it’s near perfect but I’m not sure on the legion I havnt got it yet!!
@King_Me_Eli the reason I was asking was running ryujinx on a i5 10400 and 1650 did not run and kept crashing on vulkin and open gl but ran fin on m1 did not know if it would run
@@wiideathmodtv now what I could say is I’ve seen some frame issues on ryujinx with lower wattage modes (which is expected) but the great thing I love about the ally is we can change the wattage higher so I find my self playing on 20-30w and everthing is perfect

😂 not sure what is wrong with you guys.. There's nothing wrong with this thing especially with the new update. Maybe some people still have a problem but mine has no issues at all.
Still about 5 years hehind the Ally in terms of software,fps counter still at 0 and you can't move it around the screen,why isn't there an led notification to let you know the go is charging and then charged when the screen is off?they've added battery numbers in the quick settings but not in the legion space it's still just a green bar why wouldn't you put the numbers in there too?My ally feels so much more of a gaming device than my GO if it wasn't for the screen size I'd still be using the Ally....
The update gave my controller stick drift
A software update would not physically effect your device, you've most likely set your deadzone too small. Try making it larger and the drift should go away.
if you have anti deadzone on steam its ok to disable steam input now. With anti deadzone and a zero deadzone it will cause some drift because steam is thinking its somewhere its not now that its updated.

I'm sorry brother but an update letting you adjust your deadzone will NOT provide actual increase of game performance. Unless the deadzone was trash from the beginning which means it went from horrible feeling down to where it should had been from launch. You are experiencing a placebo. Lower deadzones on a fresh device which already has minimal deadzone does not give such a huge gain in performance or feel.

I think this product has failed. The only positive is the large screen. I will be returning mine. Valve was right that a Deck 2 would be too early, and the Go and Ally are sadly just a half step in innovation. I hope you all out there can enjoy yours more than I did.

I don’t know to much about computers but I was able to learn how to mod some games on the Steam Deck it took a good amount of time for me to learn
