Also, installing UWPHook to add your Xbox titles to your Steam library works pretty well. Disable Steam controls in the game's profile/settings and you're good to go.

    • @cambodianjesuss
      @cambodianjesuss Před měsícem +9

      Open Steam
      Click View
      Click Settings
      Click Controller
      Click Desktop Configuration
      Disable it
When you do this, all games will recognize your Legion Go controller as a game pad device (Xbox) without wonky side effects.
You can keep your steam running without any extra leg work, but you will have to sacrifice the controller configuration steam had on desktop mode. Just stick to using the track pad and/or touch screen when not gaming.

Have you had any issues with overheating while playing with a power bank plugged in? I was in a flight and had my Legion Go plugged into a power bank. After playing Deep Rock Galactic Survivor for a bit, I noticed my game started to stutter and then the system turned itself off. I replicated the problem, unplugged the power bank and after a couple minutes the game started running smooth again.

I have been using Rog Ally sice day one and bought a legion go yesterday. The first day use experience, I would like to ask for help about the following:
    1) the Rog Ally can use the right joy stick and RB + RT as mouse, which is very comfortable for desktop using. Is there any way on legion go ? I know there is a touch pad but could find any key for left and right click. and I don't really feel like to remove the joy stick for FPS mode every time I go through updates etc before gaming.
    2) Is it possible to reposition the frame monitor ?
    3) Rog Ally can remember your TDP preset for different game , on battery and pluged. Even the manuall mode can switch between different TDP when on battery and pluged. Possible to do this on the Legion go ?

For anyone into CRPGs that don't have controller support (Dragon Age 1 & 2, Pillars of Eternity 1 & 2, Arcanum, etc...), the Legion Go is perfect. Having the options to use FPS mode or the trackpad is extremely convenient.
No one really talks about how good the trackpad is on the Legion Go. Remap left click to one of the buttons directly behind the right controller and you're good to go.
This is pretty much the only reason why I chose the Legion Go over the ROG Ally.
EDIT: Also, CJ, your videos are amazing!

Let's look at what Ben actually said before we misrepresent the situation: "I want to share a personal update with you. While I care about and am deeply appreciative of this community, my direct involvement in product development (and thus my ability to advocate on your behalf) has been reduced. This is due in part to a strategic decision to leverage a broader array of feedback channels. However, please know that your voices and perspectives remain invaluable to our team, and there are systems in place to ensure that customer feedback continues to shape the evolution of Legion Go. Your engagement has been, and always will be, a driving force behind our innovation."

You don't need VRR and V-sync on a 144hz screen but don't tell anyone. Just keep that between you and me. It's our secret.
In fact there is a program where you can insert a black screen between every frame run at 60 fps on a 120hz monitor. This will dim the over all brightest of the image. 120 hz is fast enough where your visual cortex will blend in the black screen with the next processed frame where you won't see the black screen. Of course your eyes still detect the black screen which can cause some people to have a seizure.
The same way the 120 hz is fast enough so the teared screen will blend in with the next whole screen refresh.

and that sir is the elephant in the room, or what most fanboys will never admit to. they both have cosmetic flaws, Rog Ally - SD card issue / legion Go - wobble wobble joysticks. but besides that the Rog Ally just works and runs games better! no tinker degree needed. yes the LeGO has a bigger screen, but without it plugged in your only going to be looking at it for about 95 mins! but we buy these devices for gameplay and for that. the Rog Ally is just better! and i own them all....no diddy!

There is no real “king” of the handhelds imo they all bring something to the table
    Steam Deck LCD/OLED
    Great Battery Life
Good Performance But Showing It’s Age
Steam OS For More Console Experience
    ROG Ally
    Okay Battery Life
    Great Performance At 15-20W
    VRR
    Light Weight
    Legion Go
    Good Battery Life
    Great Performance 15-20W
    Amazing Display
Handheld But Also Doubles As A Tablet
    Mouse Mode With Controllers
You also have options from companies like Aya Neo, GPD, OneXPlayer and more but normally cost more and have spotty support due to being mostly Chinese made/owned
I have owned a lot of handhelds from Aya Neo, GPD, Aokzoe, Steam, Asus and now Lenovo since I have an injury and find handhelds easier and the best so far has been the Legion Go since you can use it for a lot more than just games for example I use it as a tablet and for digital comics
Only handheld I don’t recommend is the MSI claw
    Ridiculous price
    High temps
    Bad performance
Straight up copy of the ally including the display
