    Groceries in Manila are so expensive, go to Malaysia and the same items are literally $1 instead of $5 in the PH. Something is wrong. Most likely corruption at the port/customs driving up prices.

    Proud of our President Marcos! He is the First President of the Philippines to speak and addresses the Australian Parliament.       ​@@butterbread858read again the 1973 Philippine Constitution. It was still PRESIDENTIAL SYSTEM BUT with TRANSITORY ARTICLE XVII for GRADUAL transformation to Parliamentary system. That's why the legislature body was called INTERIM National Assembly. Pres Marcos Sr believed that the "abrupt" adoptation to Parliamentary system is not ideal to Filipino legislators so he tried the gradual approach for the legislators will gain the experience first on typical parliamentary setup.
      The 1978 NEDA's Long Term economic plan until year 2000 was part of this plan - both economic and political changes. It was envisioned the GRADUAL transformation will finally establish the full Parliamentary System by year 2000.
