Dealing with Bad Behaviour- LARP 101

What do you do when not everyone you play with is a nice person? What do you do if other players are cheating? It's always a bit of a surprise when you find people not playing by the rules at LARP. Or generally being rude or even inappropriate. We're all nerds right, so why would we treat each other badly? Well, fact is that sometimes members of the LARP community behave really badly, and that is completely unacceptable. LARPers are held to a high standard of behaviour and when people fall below that, there should be clear consequences.

ive heard the term 'missing stairs' (or at least thats what it sounds like) and a couple of LARP videos now, but i'm unclear, as to what it means??

Think of it literally as a step missing in a staircase, and the owner of the house warns you about the missing stair and to make sure you jump over it, rather than just fixing the stair. A "Missing Stair" person is someone predatory in a community that everyone knows and warns everyone about, but no-one attempts to fix the problem, aka removing the predator.
