Watching your videos. Probably going to binge watch them. I’m in clinical right now for sterile processing, but my preceptor and teacher are convinced that I should just continue onto surg tech and further 😂 I guess they have the eye for it. Surg tech seems way more intense tho. My names Derek too 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Currently a SPD tech in school to become a CST.
Currently my biggest pet peeve is when surg techs don’t relay turn over information. Especially when they come to SPD upset that we didn’t do up something. With all the sets we have to keep track of, it’s hard to know what is needed and when. ( 8:49 )

I can definitely agree with that. SPD has so much on there plates! Communication is key and it’s not fair to expect for something you don’t ask for!

My biggest pet peeve is a messy set up.
Rearranging my table, rolling into the room before my instruments are in my table. (When no one has checked on me, I’m setting up and the patient rolls in) I hate it 😂

I have to rearrange tables that are messy I can’t help it 😅 and seriously they could care less whether or not we’re ready especially big cases in the morning 🥲

I agree I hate when anesthesia just brings the patient back when I have nothing on my table, especially when it's a total joint using a robot 🤦🏿‍♀️
