I purchased 4 liners for my 8 foot cage so I can switch between them when it’s laundry day. I just washed the first set today and the vinegar really helps get gross scents out. We used vinegar/water solution when my dog was a puppy if he peed on the carpet and it worked like a charm. My skinnies love the liners!
We recently bought a few liners. All my piggies adore them and I am sure the pocket is their favourite. It is an amazing design so please make more products. I love the green one!!!
I have 4 of your fleeces with pockets and my 3 girls just adore them, they weren't impressed last week when I washed two and realised the first two weren't dry enough to use! 😮 My combi-boiler is in my bedroom so they are dried naturally, they don't take that long tbh. I wash them the same way as yourselves! 😊👍 They're still looking and doing great 👍

My plan (I don't have the liners yet) is to have 1 set of the liners and while it's drying and washing I can do an extra long floor time (I won't get to do floor time everyday)
I love my liners and crunchy condos! the small liners come with cute tubes for them to play in! i love my guineadad stickers too, so cute! Thanks for this video!!!
O.m.g. your liners are the best I've used. They look new after every wash! I only need to buy the red, orange, and yellow Midwest liners, then I will have every color for my midwest cage. They are just amazing liners!
Thanks G.D.! My girls and I love your liners. The white vinegar does make a difference and it's cheap, I buy it by the gallon. Which reminds me, gotta put that on my grocery list.
Great video, as usual! So far I do everything right, but I wash in warm water, but the warm in my machine is very lukewarm, more on the cooler side. No softener, no sheets, ever! Thanks, Si!
Ive had my first liner about a month & I was gonna get a second one last week, but I’m glad I waited for your holiday sale. Also glad I watched this video because I was over drying the liner
Thank you so much for posting this. I loved my first liner but definitely ruined it by putting too much detergent and over drying it. . I just ordered 2 more. I’m looking forward to making these last because I love your liners.
What laundry bags do you use? I make sure to brush and spot clean before putting the liners into a regular mesh laundry bag. This has helped to prevent a lot of hair and debris from getting into the washer...however I am worried about heavier debris that is unseen getting into the washer over time. I have looked at a couple of pet washing machine bags but the reviews haven't been supportive. Thank you for your help and I absolutely love your products! It's made my life so much easier and the ladies are way happier and cleaner because of them. :)
Hello, I actually don't use any laundry bag, and just clean out the machine's filter once in a while. I've heard many people have had success with horse laundry bags.
I always use and old blanket and cut it and when I wash it I hand wash I was planning to get your GuineaDad liner my piggies love to lift up the blanket and hide under it and pee and poop on the plastic so now I got a Louise Vuitton bag and it has a pocket my grandma just gave it to me so i flipped it over and used it 😂 thanks for the tips!
Hi Samii :) Thanks for checking out our video! Because GuineaDad Liner was made to be extremely absorbent, once the liner gets too big it does not wash as well. After experimenting we decided to make the 2x4 as the biggest. Instead of having one big 2x5 liner, I found that having 2x3 and 2x2 is easier to spot clean as well! If you make 2x2 area dedicated kitchen area and put the hang the hay box on that end, you can clean up all the hay by taking that smaller liner and slide all the waste into the garbage can. poop is extremely easy to clean with the electric sweeper I often show in our videos :)
Glad I could help! I am so excited for you and I am happy to know that our videos somehow inspired you. If you need help or if you have questions about your guinea pigs please let me know. :)
I got my GuineaDad liner two months ago and it’s amazing! I’m so glad I found your products! I use the recommended settings and I haven’t had any problems! My guinea also loves to burrow and sleep in the pocket more than her hideaway! It’s awesome!
They make pee pads too, you could get those? I have a custom cage but its 3 c&c grids in width so I just use a few that are 3 long, you might be able to do that
No wonder whenever I make my guinea pig a blanket fort he pees and poops in there! Wait, when he climbs into my shirt, he poops in there. That means he feels safe with me right?
The way I dry them is to put them in the dryer, no heat and tumble for 30 minutes. This also helps to collect any excess hair sticking to the liner if the washing machine didn’t get it off. Then, I’ll take them out and hang them over the bannister to air dry.
I think that's a good tip. How I do it recently is I just do low heat dry to not fully dry as well. I take extra care in rinsing out thoroughly too. Sometimes remnant detergent heats up faster and damage the liner. I guess the key is to not overload it and use largest load or bedding setting when washing to do that.
I recently bought two liners because my piggies have a large play area accessible from their cage. I think I'm going to get more so I can change them out rather than locking the piggies in the cage while I do laundry.
Ok soooo, these are awesome and make cage maintenance and cleaning a breeze. BUT over time by following his instructions with cold water or even the soak method simply doesn't work. I've tried it all. And this is the solution that passes my nose test! On warm water setting or go ahead and use cold but there is shrinkage with any warmth at all, I pour a hearty scoop of oxiclean, a generous splash of vinegar, all clear detergent measured out, and a little bleach. This is for the liners and other fleece pieces I use. I do the super wash extra rinse cycle on heavy duty setting. I dry my fleece, and hang the guinea dad liners up. It will take about a day for them to fully dry. I had found putting them on airfluff only no heat works too. These things are great but to get the barnyard guinea pig smell out each time you wash them, you really have to do more than suggested. Otherwise it just kept building up. Borax might be useful although I haven't tried it yet.
Thanks for the support! Be sure to check out our Liner Care guide on our blog: guineadad.com/blogs/news/guineadad-guide-keeping-your-liner-in-tiptop-shape Hope this helps! 😁
my only complaint: I live in an apt. and we don't have any settings! It's wash.rinse.spin :( I dont know how to thoroughly clean my liners with the limited settings.

May I ask, my washing machine doesn't have the option of "warm, cool, cold" water, in Sweden we use degrees. The lowest is 30 degrees (Celsius), is that cold enough? I just bought a bunch of liners and don't want to mess them up 🙈
Hi there! Do these need to be washed before first use (to improve absorbency) or do they arrive ready to go? Also, are the all-in-one capsule type washing liquid safe to wash it in washing machine? Or just use water? We never have any powder detergent at home. Thanks!
I want to try these liners but I’m confused... wouldn’t the cage start to smell right away once they start peeing everywhere? I tried using fleece blankets for one guinea pig (not from guineadad) and his cage started smelling bad after a day of having fleece bedding. How do I keep the smell under control before I wash the bedding once a week? What product do I use to “spot clean”?
There’s actually not a smell when they pee because the second layer absorbs it so that way it doesn’t smell. I have 2 piggies and I wash my liners every week. So far I haven’t gotten a smell.
I bought your bedding product this time. So it's time to do the first laundry. I would like to ask you one thing. The guinea pig's hairs are heavily buried in the blanket before putting it in the laundry. Do you recommend removing these hairs and washing them or putting them in a washing machine without removing them?
Hey so I'm considering buying your liners. But I don't have a dryer... I do have a line outside. I don't know if you you know but how long do they take to dry straight from the washer? Why is it bad to hang them on the line? If it's just fading that's okay by me. Also, if you leave them unwashed after being used, for a week does that damage them? (I.e could I go down to the landremat every few weeks and do a big wash and dry) Thank you in advance!
You can air dry, but should do it indoor away from direct sunlight to prevent possible heat damage. I used to do that too (do it in loads) in Chicago, and didn't really do anything to the liner. However, I can see that pre-soak would help a lot if the liner is old.
what about washing them at a laundromat with commercial machines? there's no option to separate the liquids i.e. vinegar and detergent. Can you put them at once?
Yup, you can put them together. My current machine also does not have the separate compartment after I moved to an apartment in Las Vegas. You can also wash them in commercial machines - in fact they are supposed to be stronger and better.
Hi! If you use GuineaDad bedding there is no need for you to use other beddings (aspen, shaving or etc.).Unlike regular beddings, our GuineaDad Fleece Liners are made up of three main components; the top fleece, bamboo blend fill, and waterproof backing. The moisture-wicking top fleece is made from polyester, it is designed to dry quickly to keep piggies feet dry! Our bamboo blend fill is super absorbent, anti-bacterial, and natural! The natural bamboo properties help absorb moisture away from the top layer and also help minimize odor buildup and the bottom of the liner is a waterproof backing made from polyester. This layer keeps the moisture in the bamboo layer and off your cage floors! If you go with Guineadad liners there is no need for other beddings because it is washable and reusable. 🤩 You may buy our liners here: guineadad.com/collections/guineadad-liner-2-0 For more information, you may also check our FAQ here: guineadad.com/apps/help-center

How often do you recommend changing out the liners?
Depends on how many guinea pigs you have and how big the cage is, but most people seem to do laundry once a week.
could you just hang it up to dry, if the person is worried about ruining it by accident, if you have extras to use while you wait?
Hello, you can but please try to avoid direct sun or any other source of high heat when drying.

How many liners can i wash at a time? 1 at a time? 2?
Should I was my brand new fleece before using it?
Yes, you may need to wash it multiple times so that it will wick water/ pee into the inner layer.

Can you wash the 2x3CC liner by hand? Would that avoid some of the shrinkage?

I use Tide or All (white ones that is scent free) I think it's call clear and all or free and clear or something like that.
(I.e could I go down to the landremat every few weeks and do a big wash and dry)
Thank you in advance!
You can air dry, but should do it indoor away from direct sunlight to prevent possible heat damage. I used to do that too (do it in loads) in Chicago, and didn't really do anything to the liner. However, I can see that pre-soak would help a lot if the liner is old.
