I was one of the animators on this video back in 2002. It was a lot of fun to work on. Interesting fact: Most of the animators and effects artists who made Firefly worked on this video. In fact, we did the pilot for Firefly right before this, and then started on the series not long after it.
I really would be so interested to see how you guys made it. It looks so damn good. It still holds up well today.
Damn how much did this project take it's really nice

Early 2000s 3D animation creeps the hell out of me... but I love it.
On a scale of 1(shit) to 10(great), I give this Warcraft3/10.
Way cooler than most shit these days...

Same here. I was 9 or so and when I saw this video for the first time, and that scene was always my favorite.

You can almost "feel" the move, the object sliding in the palm of your hand. Absolutely stellar animation, especially for the early 2000s!

@@harpyidubs5952 Well, they remastered the original animation it seems. It's still the 2001-era graphics, just with a 2020 cleanup act (likely by an AI-made process)
Still, don't know if I'd love or hate a stronger remaster. Their heads always scared me growing up.
video just got upgraded to 1080 HD
@@Skorpeonismyrealname It looks great, although that probably was made in high resolution in 2002 still, only downgraded to 480p to air in 4:3 televisions at the time as VHS or DVD, that why all those old movies from the 80-90s get re-released in HD as if they were made nowdays.
@@revilhunter I don't think so, this is computer generated (CGI) which has nothing to do with filming. The original release video was probably rendered at 240p and now with the original project they probably just re-rendered it at 1080p. Now, with most old movies they used 35mm film which depending on the lines per mm the film was rated at, they could contain enough detail and information for more than 4k resolution images (some even 8k and probably a few capable of 16k), so it was just a matter of developing/digitizing it. For example, by playing a 4k video in a 1080p display, the display physically lacks the necessary pixels to draw all of them. Except back then the analog/digital videos were so low res that the displays had to duplicate pixels to fill the screen (which still happens today, except it's way less noticeable due to enough pixels/info).
Still one my favorite songs by them, RIP 6 years today we lost a legend. RIP Chester.
Chester saved a generation. The man never knew the legend he was.

Yeah, definitely not "underrated".....when it was announced, there was a lot of anticipation for its' release. Just look at how Hybrid Theory was blowing up like the calculated nuclear reaction of Castle Bravo vs. what it actually was.

I was a pure rap fan all throughout my teenage years, and this was the first linkin park song I ever saw/heard. I think it was on one of the MTV channels back in the early 00's. The beat, Chester's voice, the rap, and this video completely blew me away, and ever since then I have been a massive fan. It's funny how one song can change your perception of an artist, and a whole music genre, but I'll never forget that moment that it did.
Exploring other genere of music does that 😄.
Breaking the Habit opened my eyes to the fact that I hadn’t been emotionally mature enough to relate to Linkin Park before that. It was a watershed moment for me. I have Borderline Personality Disorder and only after acknowledging that and working on it could I see how so many of their songs mapped directly onto large portions of my life and my experiences. It breaks my heart knowing just how much pain and confusion and frustration and hopelessness Cheater felt in life 💔 I wish I could help everyone who’s like me but unfortunately a characteristic of the problem is frequently an inability to see yourself as you truly are - for better or for worse. Sadly he couldn’t see the good in himself and his potential. I hope with every fiber of my being that there’s more than this life and he was given the peace he couldn’t find here when he left us.
Same
EdgeTV’s new rock 30 is where i remember it from
In a similar way, look at Johnny Cash's last album. He covers a very wide variety of genres- bringing people who haven't dabbled in "other styles of music".....together. Take "Hurt" for example- all the people who never/would not willingly listen to NIN, were suddenly exposed to something that they could relate to and took the chance to listen to more of Trent's music.
I think if someone were to release a cover album of HT- in a completely different format, it would draw even more people to the LP fan base.
I was 13 when I first heard hybrid theory in 2000, I'm now 36 and this music still has the same emotive feel it did back then. Linkin Park are more than just a band. Rip Chester ❤

Linkin Park can be considered a symbol of the era of modern computer graphics, the music is so high-tech as what was in the first videos and the refrain that goes through all the work of the team of course with the arrival of Chester, when I first saw "Point of authority"it was so organic, the music and visuals, I could not believe that today is real-time, not through a long render on renderfarm.

Linkin Park forever ❤️
Cartoon Network used to show this during the early 2000s, suffice to say since I was very young then this video always scared me due to how surreal it looked. Now as I'm older I came to appreciate this.
The song perfectly describes my struggles with my parents, me always trying to please them while they take pleasure in the awful things they've put me through, in their endless effort to re establish their points of authority over me. And now after all of it, I am only left with negativity and a broken pride.
That sucks. And not even with giant mecha in the mix, I bet. Could be worse, mate. At least surely there were no tentacles involved.
why has this not been adapted into a freaking movie or video game, this is intense
The most successful progressive rapmetal/rapcore/numetal songs of all time. And all time my favourite! Kudos to clip maker and LPian!
I've to dig this up.
Chester, you are the one who brought me to the Rock music. You gone, but the spirit you have built will never die. Rest in Piece.
