Erika Vikman was a participant in UMK in 2020 with her song "cicciolina". She used UMK to change her image in Finland as she was known for winning a tango singing competition (tangomarkkinat) in 2016. She was the fan favorite in UMK, but ultimately lost. Her song became a hit in Finland though, and she has had a good career since. Many say that she was also the catalyst for the higher quality of UMK because singers saw that you can make something of yourself through the competition (before UMK was seen as kinda cringe and in worst case scenario a career killer). Käärijä said before UMK 2023 that he was inspired to take part in UMK thanks to Erika, which is why I think this collab is perfect!

And I still remember the feeling seeing the "Cicciolina" stage show, the lights rise and there's pink, hearts, a throne and effing bears! It was mad, it was new and god we loved it. It felt like a game changer already then, like "wait, you can do this? things will never be the same."

From what I've gathered, Käärijä's music is essentially a cross between rap, metal, hip hop, disco, electronic music, and techno elements (+ a tiny bit of rock too). I've read somewhere that he himself calls his music "party metal" or "disco metal" (one of that, not sure which). But anyway, it's incredibly ADDICTIVE! And yes, I also think they had an amazing chemistry and i'm also getting Cha Cha Cha vibes from it ^^ They absolutely OWNED the stage. Great reaction ;)
Do you think it's possible for them to join UMK? I'd love to see them on Eurovision stage together. I think they have such impactful chemistry. 💚💚💚

It's _possible_ for them to take part in UMK again if they sumbit a song for next year, but Käärijä at least has said that he does not want to go to Eurovision again, except as a half time show performer if he's paid well :D he's said in interviews how physically and mentally and emotionally taxing all of it was for him, from UMK to the ESC final almost nonstop, and then he had like 130 gigs on top of that last year, on top of interviews and pre parties and other events outside the UMK and ESC stages. So it's possile for him to go to UMK again, but it's not very likely at the moment that he will. I hope he and Erika make more songs together though! As you said they work well together :D
With Kuumaa/Benjamin opening the show with the most epic mashup Ive seen in decades (and what a dance break!), then these two coming on as interval act, and a supercharged staging of ChaChaCha with like 16 dancers or some madness? Much like Sanremo 2024, UMK 2024 is now going to be a benchmark to judge all following shows against!
I hoped you would react to this! It has a similar vibe to Cha Cha Cha because both songs date back to around the same time (this one was completed, so far as I understand, in between UMK and Eurovision last year) - I love it but I'm excited for where he's going to go next

Käärijä doesnt want to go to Eurovision anymore...its sad, this song would have been so great, but I understand, his whole life has changed, and he has no place to hide anymore...he needs some privacy now. But maybe some day...when the Käärijä-hype is not so strong anymore...

You should react to Erika Vikman's Syntisten pöytä and Cicciolina. Many don't like Erika Vikman in Finland, mainly because she is not afraid to show her sexuality and unique style. I feel there is still double standards in Finland too of how you can perform whether you are a man or a woman.
