The way you described a proper onion ring tells all. You know your craft. Hands down, this is still the best cooking show on the planet. America is where food comes together. Where everything should come together with spirit and grace. Working with your hands and feeding the hart's with love. This show reminds me of what America stands for. Thank you for that breath of fresh air. Now let's get cooking!!!
Thanks so much, and my mother always taught me cook what you love for the ones you love. We thank you so much for the kind words and for taking time to watch
The description illustrates this guy's passion. I hope I find something in life where I have the same passion and expertise.
Keep floatin, keep turning, don't want to burn that onion!
What Super J said is okay.. but if I ever got close to your camp, I'd forgo the cook part, and want to get straight to the eating part!
Thanks again for your video featuring Justin Wilson.. and even mentioning him again, but I most guarantee that you are heads over tails the one to watch nowadays!
Merica is where the Diatetes takes over!!! 😳🤣
I don't think I've ever been more hungry for an onion ring in my natural born life.
I´m drooling it out man
😂 true
Shit is crazy... 😋
In your unnatural born life tho...that's a different story
Best onion ring ever yummy!
I made these tonight and they were amazing. My wife said, "these taste like they came from a restaurant". That's a huge compliment!
Aka 3 toes thanks commenter
I hope she gave you a special something later on that night

I love how he gave the measurements for like 2 ingrediants and then quit. The best cooking is done by heart.
Best onion rings have ever eaten and I'm 75 years old. I loved end so much I used the flour mixture along with the left over milk and sour cream dipping to make a really great gravy. Make the rue using about 3 tablespoons of the flour, add chopped onions optional, some mushrooms and then add the milk and sour cream with honey and thicken it. No waste of any of the fixings.
This is one of the most American videos I ever watched. 😂
You probably mean white,,because America it’s a continent ??☁️

My husband just made a batch using your onion rings recipe and they were the best. He did a great job and your research made the best onion rings ever! Thank you.
Damn you can’t beat authentic cowboy cooking
Hey Brother, I have for many years, watched you and your lovely wife. I cant begin to tell you what a joy it is to watch any of your new videos. I have tried many of your tips and recipes and have never been let down on any of them. Please keep up the good work and my family and I will keep watching, God bless you and your family.
@Fred we thank you so much my friend for taking time to watch, and God Bless you as well
💯. Kent and the family is a blast to watch. Now! I'm HUNGRY 😋😋
So excited to try another great recipe! Thankyou and keep it up! Wish I could meet you folks someday. You do such a wonderful job with all your recipes so very entertaining.
Kent Rollins is a national treasure. God bless y’all ❤
I can't find good onion rings anywhere. You take one bite and the whole ring comes out of the crust.
Yep i hate that i do
the crust is the only good thing anyways🙄
Battered ones are much better than breaded
@@chickennuggies906 nah nah nah, onions are super underrated in all forms
If you aren't willing to cook, and want GOOD onion rings, I would recommend Clear Springs restaurant outside of New Braunfels, Texas. That is, I WOULD recommend them, except that they are as addictive as pure crack cocaine. So good, they are addictive. The only reason I'm not dead now is because they're at least an hour and a half away from me.
And now Mr. Rollins is teaching me how to make my own.... well, I'm a goner.
So long, and thanks for all the fish....
I can't believe how much watching this makes me want to make my own onion rings. Thank you Kent Rollins! ❤😂😊
Sir we made these onion rings and they are by far the best we have ever eaten. Thank you so much for all you do sharing these beautiful creations of yours. The honey was the secret ingredient. Thanks again!
For some reason, restaurants and fast food chains aren’t making onion rings anymore. Therefore, your recipe has come at the perfect time!
Hope you enjoy
DQ & Sonic Drive Ins have the Best Crispy Fried Onion Rings !! Hey, If an Onion Rings, Answer It ! LOL 😂🤣
@@CaliMel184 They generally use frozen rings in bags, and do not bread them fresh.
There's something going on ( Conspiracy Warning) I bought Frozen Onion Rings for Years to cook in my Air Fryer they were about $2.99 - $3.49 a Bag... NOW they're $5.99 a bag if I can even find them in stores and MOST stores don't have them now. We must shipping them to Ukraine 🤣
Too labor intensive and since there is a shortage of labor it is not worth doing. I made thousands of onion rings in college. I hated the process but loved the result!
A perfectly fried crispy onion ring is a thing of beauty! Thanks for the great recipe, Cowboy Kent! 🤠🧅✌🏻👍🏻🍀☘️
Thanks for watching
🥰
that crunch sounds amazing
I absolutely love Shannon making comments and asking the questions viewers might have. It also helps keeps Kent explaining the minor details we might wonder ourselves. I thought it was amazing the crunch that came through the video! Thank you for making the video Cowboy Kent and Shannon!
That is got to be the best onion ring recipe. Thanks Kent and Shannon. :)
Thank you Richard and be safe and God bless
Kent is the Bob Ross of cooking 🖼🎨🥩🍻
I'm gonna try this soon , they look so good and that crispy sound makes my mouth water ! You measure like my mom used to, she rarely used a measuring cup or spoons !!! Anyway thank you for the recipe !
Eating the food you cook on camera is underrated, necessary, and not every cook does it. Highly appreciated.
We thank you for watching
Those are the best looking onion rings I have ever seen. You know, if I owned a restaurant chain, I would pay you a small fortune to be a consulting chef and supervisor of the menu!
I'd eat at that restaurant!
Especially if it also serves his refried bean recipe. It takes a bit of time, but oh my! It's so good! One of the secrets is adding mayo. I never would have thought of that. My Aunt Conchita from Mexico City has one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Ft. Worth and I thought her refritos were the best. Sorry, Aunt Concha, yours are a close 2nd now.
Thanks James I'm honored
@Lazy I Ranch good beans they are for sure, thanks so much for watching
Aj and I made them tonight it didn’t go exactly like the recipe I improvised here and there. Honestly probably the best onion rings I’ve ever had and it was the first time I ever made them so I was glad it turned out well. I even told my mom about them and am going to cook for her and some family this next weekend. Thank you for sharing your recipe.
I am having a coffee and breakfast and watching this video. I cannot begin to tell you how good those rings look!! I'm almost ready to make some at 8:00 a.m. I plan on giving your recipe a go. Thanks very much for sharing! Cheers!!!
I’ll probably never even consider making my own onion rings, but I’m watching , just in case.
We thank you for joining us
I tried it with pancake mix. If done wrong your mouth will be filled with onion flavored oil soaked batter, and maybe some heartburn after.
Check out BBQ Pit Boys. They do one wrapped in bacon, grilled, then battered and fried.
I've not watched much of this man's vids, but every single one so far has not only been easy to understand and follow, but also a blast to watch, and perfectly pleasant. Absolutely wonderful work Mr. Kent, I hope you continue the good work for many years to come.
👏👏👏🙄🙄🙄
Thank you kind sir. It’s amazing of how humble and enthusiastic you are with your passion.
This is the most refreshing video I've watched in a good long while. Idk if you’ll see this but good on you sir. The world needs more people like this
I made this for my wife and she loved, thank you sir.
i hope i can keep learning a lot from you.
Glad to hear that

Those look amazing! Just one thing I want to point out is that I know you love your four legged friends as much as I love mine so I wanted to make sure you know that onions are toxic to dogs. So is garlic and grapes. It is always a good idea to look it up before sharing table food with them. We have made the mistake before but luckily we caught it and no harm came of it.
When I saw the honey it hit me, that's exactly what is put in pizza dough to make it crispier!
as an italian that hit me hard as a rock, does people really put the honey in the dough to make it crispier in america?
@@trifthyfuture2342 I've seen a few videos calling for it, I'm not from America tho xD, it's not much it doesn't change the flavor at all, but it does make it crispier.
@@trifthyfuture2342 I guess it is because the sugar. I never used it, but it seems to work xD I am not from the USA either, I am from Spain
@@trifthyfuture2342 Like God and George Washington intended. Just plain sugar is used more commonly though, especially with home oven temperatures it's good for browning and crispiness
Oh man, those look like the absolute best onion rings I have ever seen. I need those in my face right now!
Love your videos. Stumbled upon your videos on fb a long while back. Appreciate a good man doing what he loves for the sake of loving it. Keep it up!
Just made these tonight, and they were awesome! Thank you so much for the recipe, Kent. You really know your stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it
I have never my life! I was hooked as soon as I heard Cowboy Kent crunch down. I’m so proud of myself. I followed his recipe and these are the best onion rings I’ve ever had in my life!!! They turned out perfect. I will say, it’s super important to follow his tip and let the oil come up to temperature. Be patient, it’s sooo worth it!!!
I made these tonight. Delicious they were. 😮
Thank mr. Kent
I made these friend and they are absolutely delicious thank you for this recipe.👍

I love it! Onion rings are my childhood fav snack...never get tired of em...especially now that I got a new recipe to try...thanks cowby for the great content!

I wish I could send you this photo, Cowboy. My husband just cooked his first onion ring using your recipe and he gave it to me to try. It came out exactly as yours did and I just want more now. Happy Holidays to you and thank you for all of the mouthwatering cooking demonstrations! We’re going to get a copy of your cookbook!

And it didn't break apart, awesome. Hello from the Vancouver island of Canada. Great video and can't wait to see you in your next video. Stay safe and take care now. 🙏☕
Delightfully entertaining! Lots of humor and I love the back and forth banter! Like so many of your recipes, this one is basic and so easy. Cannot wait to try this one in my kitchen. Thanks, Kent. Another great job.
Just discovered this channel today, going to binge every video I can. Thank you cowboy Kent!!
For breading anything I have had good luck with various coatings by breading a day before cooking and let the breaded items chill in the refrigerator overnight. Just seems to stick so much better. These onion rings are my next project. They look and sound very good.
I love watching you cook and I will be trying this recipe. Thanks for sharing and may God bless you
This past weekend I modified my standard sourdough bread recipe by adding 3g of 'malted vinegar powder' to the 511g of Giusto flour. Improved the texture and added a subtle nuttiness.
Started the day with Kent’s cowboy coffee and just whipped up a batch of these onion rings, recipe is perfect and these rings are absolutely delicious!
True crispy! Thanks for the video and for that sound.
Crispy = Love. The crispier, the more the chef loves you. OK, seriously, yes, it's a symphony that plays the right notes, which is a SWEET, yellow onion, a cast iron bucket, and whatever oil you find is the one, but you are a hero, man ! Food is Love.
Made these for the first time last night. Used an air fryer and sprayed top and bottom with olive oil. Came out great! Super crispy with good body. I may have added a bit too much black pepper but was still awesome and my boys loved the peppery taste as I did. Air fryer worked better than expected. Best onion rings we ever had.
Just tried your recipe today and these onion rings are *delicious!* They came out perfect, and I’m no seasoned chef😅
I even prepped extras (did the double dip and then panko) and then flash froze them in the freezer to deep fry (or air fry) later.😊
Thank you for this simple but exquisite recipe!
they worked out great. the Mrs. loved them. thank you
This was fun to watch. Cant wait to try them!! The hiney has me excited
I just grew the biggest onions I have ever grown in my garden this year...I am SO excited to try this recipe!

Kent, my wife and I are hosting our family Christmas gathering, and we are going a little untraditional with a shrimp boil and turkey fry, and we are going to use your onion ring recipe Thank you for sharing, and God bless you and yours from our home to yours.
I made these, I didnt have your seasonin. But Let me telll youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. He wasnt lying, I had doubts doing the sour cream mix to but it mixes with the honey very well. The crispyness is beyond satisfying. I substituted the cowboy seasoning with some home brew stuff from my hometown in louisianna.
Best onion rings! Thank you, Cowboy Kent! God Bless y'all!
This look absolutely delicious.... the best onion rings I ever had, had a little sweetened coconut in the batter, but yours are making my mouth water!
They sound good. Love onion rings but can never find them in the restaurant wild...

Oh my gosh! I can already tell these will be the best onion rings I’ve ever tasted! Kent and Shannon, thanks for these videos. You always put a smile on my face when I need it! God bless you both. And the pups!
Our pleasure! and God bless you as well
Thanks for posting this, Kent! This is just great! I love onion rings but I rarely have them because no one seems to be able to make good ones. They're either too slimy and greasy or the breading sticks together and slides off the onion. Now I can make great ones for myself!
Thanks great video 💯👌 hey Cowboy, I'm glad you showed people that recipe, i been cooking my shrimp, fish, vegetable this way for years it's some of the best Frying you can do! thanks again bless you all

Bobby we thank you so much for the kind words, I have the easy part, Shannon does the hard part, we appreciate you taking time to watch
My mom would make homemade beer battered onion rings..she'd get the batter all over her hands and she'd just flick little bits of that off into the oil, or wipe her hands off into the oil to get basically just fried bits of batter. For me that was just fine because for a LONG LONG time I didn't like onion rings with the onions...I would quite literally skin them, I'd break them open and pull out the onion and just eat the batter that was around the onion. It's only in recent years I've gotten a taste for the onion ring in whole..most of the reason I did the skinning of them is because onions and my family...have a bad history when it comes to what they do to our stomachs. As my mom was fond of saying about any dish with onions in it "I'm gonna regret this later but it's gonna taste so good right now"...I've taken that to heart and while I do enjoy onion rings, it's not something I eat if I have plans for the next day that carry me away from home.
same i skinned the onion ring and eat the yummy fried bits and leave the sad onion. thought i was the only one lol. now i love onion rings.
Thank you for that recipe. They are the best crispy onion rings I've ever made.
Looks delicious. I can't wait to make these.
