It alway bothered me how the java baby villagers look. Every other baby mob has a big head, even baby zombie villagers. So why not the regular ones 😭

I love how Vex means “increase discomfort” and Allay means “reduce discomfort.”
A shield can also block the vex attacks. If you use a sword, use a shield alongside it.
Think about this. The only other overworld mob that is fire proof is the warden.

i love this series so much!!! ive played this game on and off for so long, but never really dove deep into mechanics, lore and mobs until i started watching you!!! its so nice having fun facts, technical info and creative ideas for the subject all in one video!
i feel like this would constitue multiple videos, but i would love to see some "everything about structures" videos! maybe one for ocean structures, rare structures like the fossils, or major ones like the stronghold or the nether fortress, etc. !! exploring what loot you can find, how to navigate structures, and technical stuff, like what mobs do and do not spawn in certain structures would be great anddd informative!!

The vex can despawn in a boat unless that's been changed since 1.16.5 it's a failsafe in raid farms to catch them in boats.
i love its new texture, but the smile was definitely its most iconic feature and i kind of want it back. instead of looking mischievous it just looks grumpy
But thats the point of the evil vex
grumpy is a characteristically illager-esque feature, so it's more fitting this way imo. all it needs is a goofy long nose
Dark oak is seen used as revovated material in the Anceint Cities. Guess who else used dark oak wood? The Pillagers. I theorize that the Allay came from the Ancient Cities.
I'm with you on this one. Perhaps the Allay were captured from the Ancient Cities but I suspect that they originated in another dimension using the central portal. (That's not a portal.) With the archeology rumored updates I bet that to power this portal we will need to locate something(s) only found in archeology ruins. Only time will tell...

At some point I'll have to try a Warden vs. multiple Vexes battle and see how it plays out. EDIT: Aww, the Warden and Vexes ignore each other on both platforms. Bummer.

I did some testing in creative, the vexes didn't persist when they were summoned by the evoker, even when caught in a boat they still expired briefly. The ones I spawn from spawn eggs that were caught in boats seemed to persist. Like the wiki says, the evoker can't summon more vexes when it detects 8 vexes or more nearby (16 blocks), so that seems like it might be able to be used to vex proof your raid farm if they were named tagged.
I honestly thought wattles had forgotten about this series.

I started RLcraft recently and vexes in that modpack are absolute HELL to deal with. Serious, they're one of the worst mobs to deal with in that modpack.
I have a theory about Allay and Vex relations, and I don't think they're actually the same thing. Lemme explain :D
So honestly I thought the Allay was somehow created by the Evoker *until* I saw the new gameplay footage for Minecraft Legends, there we see natural allays that don't seem to have any connection to the Illagers, therefore we can conclude that at least not all allays come from them, cuz there's no evidence of illagers being in Legends. So my new theory is this: the Illagers are trying to figure out how the Allay works so they can see if they can form the same bond with Allays that Players can, so they can use the Allays to help them loot Villages. But they've been unsuccessful for years, and now Allays are all but extinct (poor lil guys) so they keep their remaining ones confined so they can't lose them (it's not known currently if they know about Allay Duplication, so for now I'm assuming they don't) Their efforts remain unsuccessful, however the Evokers gained enough knowledge from studying them that they've learned how to use Soul Power to harness and summon similar Soul Entitys (assuming the allay is a Soul-based entity) to the Allays, and they form them after Allays because well it's obvious the Illagers like to copy things (the wool replicas of End Portals, Cats, and Chickens in the Mansions)
But hey, that's just a theory. A GAME THEORY-

Hot take: Allays are failed Vex summons
What if the Vex/Allay relationship is more like that of the Romulans and Vulcans? Both are linked ancestorly, but split off into to 2 groups.

My theory; the vexes were captured by the pillagers, from the dimension that can be accessed via the portal in the deep dark city. It would be a cool future update.
Alleys are also captured by pillagers during a pillager patrol.

Lore theory. The vex used to be passive and we're corrupted by the evokers because they only attack you when they're glowing red. But the corrupted version died after a short period and the evokers experimented on them to make them better but the magic the evokers were using to control them stopped a they turned back into allays so the evokers contained them until they figured out to turn the back into vexes

I have a game theory of minecraft
The theory is that the yellow allay from minecraft legend turn evil and changes into the vex
I'm wondering if the illusioner will turn out to have anything to do with the vexes and the allay being so similar
I'm too busy wondering why they buffed the Vexes. They were already a nightmare to deal with.

So the Vex had always spectator mode, because it can go through walls.

My personal theory is that the allay is a sort of “failed” vex. Maybe the evokers made them on accident and just put them in cages because they had no use for them.

I just got killed twice by these horrible mobs all because I was overconfident in fighting a raid in my base full of villagers.
Vexs have entirely too much HP for how strong they are.
