- Tim shares his thoughts on our Starmount Flat Mount Case for our Starlink. This mount creates a weatherproof impact-resistant low-profile mounting option for your Starlink Dish. So how was the installation? How does it attach? And does the Starlink still work without its motor?

Just wondering which plan you have, residential, roam etc, i ask because you mentioned it has worked flawlessly.
We currently have the ROAM package since we've been in Mexico/USA and may go to Canada. Once we travel further again we plan to move to the Global plan.
@@DirtSunriseMany thanks for the info, we have been trying to figure which plan to get when we buy.
22k in 6 months... you guys are WILD!
I'm exhausted đ„Ž
How does it work if camping in the shade under trees? Do you carry the extension cord and remove it from the roof for a better line of site to the sky? Always enjoy your videos!
If we camp in dense trees we get intermittent service. It will work to download something or send messages, but to do a live video call or similar we need to move the dish into a clear view. The stock wire with the Starlink kit is pretty long, but we tend to just move the truck if the delays in service reconnecting are too long. đ
this is cool thanks for the info. $300+ seems justified for all the mounts and attachments but is there just a barebones box version? that's all i need and i suppose i could just 3D print one if i can't find for sale for $50
I am not sure about a "barebones" version. I would check their website also they are a small company so I am sure if you reach out with a question they would be happy to help.
How does the deinstallation of the magnetic feet work? Just pull it with high power of the roof?
Yes, just pull it off.
How are the magnets going down the road currently debating do this for my semi truck
They work great, even at highway speeds. No movement at all.
What do you use to power your Starlink? I was thinking of a Jackery 3000
We use a National Luna Power pack with an Antigravity 120AH Deep Cycle Battery. Here is the video where we talk about that setup. czcams.com/video/NVI5r9SYKe8/video.html
@@DirtSunrise cool Iâll check it out!
Hey guys, how long did it take to convert the dish to the flat mount? 2-3 hrs?
Thanks
I'd say it was about an hour. I watched the youtube videos and read the directions a few times during to make sure we didn't screw anything up.
Can you post the link for the magnetic legs?

QQ, have you guys ever done a day in the life, just curious and it may be interesting!
We haven't done one but it is on the list!
@dirtsunrise have you had issues with water intrusion or power supply? I have noticed some moisture in the unit, maybe after driving my rig 172MPH some water was bound to enter... My power supply went out a few weeks back too đ overall not super impressed with the mount I have had it for 6 months and only been running about 2 All while paying starlink $200 month đ€
That's a bummer. No issues. The top speed you're hitting could do it. We're still offroading every day with it on 24/7 running on the lithium 120ah house battery. We even use it when we get a hotel since it's faster than most places Internet. The new flat dish might be the ticket for you. Sickaflex that sucker directly to the roof! đ
@@DirtSunrise sickaflex lmfao love that, curious to see if the new units come with a 12V adapter. Totally with you on the hotels always parking near the room for wifi when working from starlink. Wow you run everything with only one battery?
@@camperghini we have a starting battery that's isolated from the house battery in back. The house battery runs the fridge, Starlink etc. one of these: antigravitybatteries.com/products/energy-storage/dc-120h/ref/27/
Respectfully the product has been a total failure for me. Over several months the pan warped from heat, the top panel attached with bolts and even though they were gently torques all holes cracked due to heat likely. The port was a problem. Dealing with the owner was a disaster. My installer was the problem, the dealer was the problem, Starlink was the problem. Couldnât keep water out. Ruined my Starlink. Many other similar cases on the internet. Wonât last.
That's a bummer to hear. We're 50,000 miles in of full time travel with it living on our roof with no issues as we offroad for a living each day so it lives a rough life being hit by trees etc. 113f days in AZ summer or -5f in Montana. Still loving it, but who knows if or when that will change.
I had the same failure. Total loss with water intrusion.
