Die Baureihe 218 der Deutschen Bundesbahn (DB) ist eine Baureihe vierachsiger Diesellokomotiven. Über viele Jahre hinweg war sie die häufigste und wichtigste Vertreterin der westdeutschen Streckendiesellokomotiven. Sie ist auch heute noch auf vielen nichtelektrifizierten Strecken der Deutschen Bahn AG anzutreffen und ist im Personenverkehr im Schnellzugdienst und im Nahverkehr sowie im Güterverkehr im Einsatz.
