    Flesh toned eyeshadows are what I go through fastest. In every palette I get, the shade that I set down my base with and my favorite transition shade get used up so quickly.

    • @ValentineLissar
      @ValentineLissar Před 4 lety +4

      Angela Weidert I agree. I hit pan and completely used up my flesh toned eye shadow first on my Anastasia modern renaissance palette. Then I planned a Anastasia single and I got a new one from colourpop as a dupe and I just hit pan. This is over the course of three years. But to be fair I use my flesh toned color to help set my eyeshadow before I begin to use color to minimize patchiness.

    • @htureigna
      @htureigna Před 4 lety +2

      @@hello.jila656 it still takes me a month or so of daily use to hit pan. I use a larger fluffy eye brush and set my entire lid. If it's a close enough match to my skin color I will also set my under eye are with eyeshadow because I have found that they are silkier than traditional setting powder. I'm pretty fair skinned so the peaches n cream shade from the Two-Faced Sweet Peach palette was gone in no time.

      @@htureigna thank you! It's great to have a reference of how someone else uses their products! Someone mentioned buying backups in the comments and I wanted to give my little two sense. Only buy backups for products that you know you love and use decently enough to where you are using about two in a year and can justify buying two then first one then and one now. Don’t buy backups for products that take forever to use up! Like loose powder or palettes! Things change over time and so do your preferences, so only have backups for things you like in the short term and will use in the short term.

    • @scarlettethefieryphoenix925
      @scarlettethefieryphoenix925 Před 4 lety +3

      The only thing I have a backup of is my NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu. If they discontinue that, I will weep. And honestly, I have issues with concentration & short-term memory, & due to chronic pain, I'm sometimes very distracted & have no idea where I put things, so I lose items, replace them, then find the open one. Usually before I open the new one. This has led to an accidental backup of a lipstick & a balm stain that's discontinued, so that was a happy accident. Lol I also have very dry skin & lips, so I buy lip balms in pairs & always have one on my nightstand & one in my purse. I agree with you, though. I don't buy backups on purpose! 😂

      I feel you. I had a collection of 7 eyeshadow singles several years ago that were basically my only eyeshadows, & at the time, I wore makeup religiously. Then I went through a phase where I didn't so much, & I had significant dips in most of the shadows but hadn't hit pan on any. I just recently started wearing makeup again more often (looooong story), & I have a goal to hit 1-3 shades in my rainbow palette by April 2020. We'll see. Sadly, all the ones I had deep dips in went bad.
      I'm also doing a No-Buy in 2020, so I can use my products I have & really enjoy them & get to know my formula preferences again. I went a little crazy for a while with the purchasing, so I should be covered for at least 6 months. 😳

    Blush and highlights are so hard for me! Lip products are too, but only if you have a large variety. When I only had a few shades in college I would go through them easily both bullets and liquid lips. I also used to fly through eyeliner, but now I never wear it so it's so hard to go through as expected. I also think eyeshadow is hard to pan! But it's so rewarding when I do. I haven't watched all of this yet but I have actually found highlighters to be pretty easy to hit pan on, blushes are a BEAST. Eyeshadows can be easy depending on the brand, and bronzers are pretty easy to finish.

    Deffo agree with you on the face powder being easiest to pan (whether foundation or setting powder). The only other thing I go through as often are pencils (lip liner, eyeliner, brow pencil). That’s probably just because they contain a small amount of product and I use it every day.
    The only reason my lip balms last forever is because I’m constantly leaving them in pockets and bags so I’m always misplacing them 😅

    I cannot hit pan on my highlighter regardless of how hard I try. I am trying to hit pan on two non cruelty free highlighters that are cute, but huge. I am also struggling with two mini benefit blushes that aren’t cruelty free. It is like they are pressed or something in the pan. I use a stippling brush in hopes that it will move the product faster. It hasn’t worked yet. I’ve had success with my eyeshadow palette I am panning this year. I mess around with that at night and have hit pan on every shade, but one. It is my Tarte toasted palette. It is a great stress relief to create all these makeup looks.

    I will often do one color all over. So cheeks and eyes. But I’m cooler toned and a clearly purple tinged blush flatters best, so my blushes look like eyeshadows! Even then, hitting pan is so darn hard. This is why I’m grateful to brands that make minis. I’m slowly switching over to Hourglass as my primary brand and the fact that they make travel size versions of half their line is perfect.

My biggest thing I go through is primer. Especially if it's a moisturizing one. Also face powder. Because my no make up days I wear primer and then powder and mascara. granted i don’t wear makeup every day, and sometimes... i choose not to wear blush because i like light-medium foundation & i have glowy cheeks naturally, so sometimes it’s seen enough through i don’t add blush. i have my one blush ready for my 2020 project pan because i’ve decided next year is the last year i should have it in my collection because of its’ age. curious to see if i can hit pan, lol.

    Highlighter is the hardest and I think blush is the second hardest. I wish I could go through lipgloss quicker but it takes me three months of focus to go through one Buxom lip gloss. If I'm not focusing on one gloss it takes me at least a year and a half to finish one. Bronzers are pretty easy for me though.

      This is one of the reasons I prefer smaller palettes. I'm a 9-16-pan kind of gal. Also, most of mine have smaller shadows. I *love* the size of BH shadows in the Brazil palettes. Anything more than the size of a penny feels excessive to me, but we're all different, so I'm sure some prefer the size of Juvia's Place shadows.

    It takes me ages to go through foundation! I was able to hit pan on my flowerchild blush this year as part of my 19 in 2019. Also lipsticks and eyeshadows are really tough but I agree lipgloss is easier. Maybe because I reapply often 😊

    I have a Kiko baked blush that I recently bought, I load my brush with it because im tanner than most and while it’s pretty pigmented, it doesn’t show up well on me so I think i can use it up within 8-12 months. I did make it a point though to only buy mini’s after i finish a lot of my full sized products because it literally is so hard to pan powders (pressed powder blush but specifically highlighters)

    I just started wearing makeup recently, and it's still pretty rare for me, so the only thing I've ever used up is eyebrow pencils and BB creams, and also lip balm, but that feels more like skincare. I've hit pan on a brow powder and a pressed face powder, but I think that's it. I'm still super new to all of this.

    Although I have a lot of lipsticks I keep wearing two shades over and over . Touch of spice Maybelline and audacious mauve by Revlon. I hit pan on these two and buy them 2-3 times a year! I agree blushes are very hard to hit pan. The product I hit pan and I need a new one every two months is powder!🌹🌹

  • @catrice1296
    @catrice1296 Před 4 lety +1

    Honestly for me the two hardest things for me to pan are powders and highlighters because I rarely use them and when I do its the tiniest amount. I’ve actually finished up a few blushes before because I like a subtle blush draping effect so I end up using more product than an average person. But the easiest things for me to pan are mascara, lip gloss, and lip balm

  • @hayjorturney4773

    I toss my mascaras every 3 months, and only have 1-2 open. For that reason, they’re easy to use up. I’ve only ever completely used up a bronzer, and blush. I generally toss my lip glosses every 6 months too, but only because I’m kind of a germaphobe LOL
    One thing I don’t ever think I could hit pan on is a highlighter. I’m almost 30, so I tend to be super light handed with them.

  • @rosedragon1747

  • @imaginarycosmetics

    I'm not a fan of applying lip products with a doe-foot applicator, so I'm reaching for a bullet lipstick much more frequently than lipgloss and I'm also reapplying it more often for that reason.
    Also using up lipsticks as cream blushes is pretty easy.
    I agree with bronzers, they're pretty easy to hit pan on, since they're used in such a big area. In summer I even occasionally use bronzer to cover up tan lines.
    I think products that I find easy to hit pan on, which are probably harder for others, are dark shimmer eyeshadows. I hit pan on Coloured Raine Blue Magic, Lethal Cosmetics Spirit, Aether and Rise From The Ashes. I usually just throw a dark shimmer in the crease and outer v, or I use them as liners. I haven't hit pan on any matte shade yet.

    I find it easy to hit pan on shimmer eyeshadows because I literally pile them on to get the sparkle and concealers go pretty quickly for me too because I tend to use the same concealer everytime I do my makeup. I find bronzer one of the hardest products to pan because I find it so hard to wear for me. I'm pale and if my skintone changes it always goes red so brown is a difficult color to hide on my face. And yes, I do have bronzer, even though I don't wear it. Eye pencils go quickly for me though. I always get the sharpenable kind because my eyes are very sensitive so I have to sharpen pencils everytime I use them on my eyes to avoid irritation.

    I agree in general that blush is difficult to pan. But I ended up completely using up 2 blushes this year. One was Tarte Party (mini size), the other was a Physicians Formula blush. I think it depends on the formula. Tarte is very hard pressed and that blush took me much longer in daily use, but the Physicians Formula was so soft it only took me 2 months. For me, I have oily skin so face products are easier for me to pan because they fade on my skin. Eyeshadow, specifically not neutral colors take a long time to hit pan. Again, it depends on the formula. I had the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette that since it was neutrals I thought I could pan it easier, but it took me a 1 1/2 yrs to pan just 5 shadows.
