Absolutely NOTHING was said about WHAT YOU CAN USE FOR SELF DEFENSE AS A FELON!!!! You didn't answer the question!!! You simply addressed firearms and pepper spray, and every idiot knows what you said. They tell you that when you are released from prison!!
So... Do you know of ANYTHING THAT A FELON "CAN USE" TO DEFEND HIMSELF OR NOT??? Or are Chinese chopsticks out of the question as well?? I'm as curious as the person who asked the question STILL MUST BE.

@@markmcgoveran6811 If a man serves his time, his Right’s should be restored! What your saying is that prison doesn’t accomplish anything in reforming a person that performed a criminal act! If they don’t commit any other crime after release their Right’s should be restored! Our focus should be on helping them back into society instead of branding them as criminals the rest of their lives! How long is a criminal a criminal if he/she is released back into society without any further incidents? The Constitution gives us all the right to self preservation! That’s no matter what you did in the past that you’ve already paid for in prison! If they are still criminals and repeat offenders on multiple occasions they are mentally insane and unfit to operate lawfully inside of society! The problem is that our prisons do little if anything to help these folks into a better path and a lawful one! Our prison’s are more like indoctrination centers to make them better criminals! Government is at fault! We need to look at taking rehabilitation of criminals seriously!!! All we do is set them up for their next crime! The subject at hand is, should ex cons be allowed to carry a gun for self preservation? Absolutely YES!!!! I have never been in jail for anything except for an assault charge when I was twenty years old! It was self preservation not assault, but I got railroaded by the government! Government is extremely corrupt and this is one of them! Our biggest criminals today are involved in government corruption! Most of them are looking for a paycheck and to hell with Justice!!! Yeah and if you're planning on being judged by 12 you might want to increase the chances of them finding you innocent. If Bob threatens tom he doesn't have a right to shoot Fred by mistake. I am the foremost expert on firearms in America because I can do one thing with a gun that no one else will even claimed he can do.Miss. (). Everybody makes all these assumptions that every single shot is legal and every single shot hits the bad guy. Then they trained and trained and trained so they can shoot ten shots in a second. I shoot one shot one second. This is the capitalist system and I am not trying to produce a product I'm trying to avoid going to prison. Everybody wants to be in a contest and shoot all those targets and shoot faster than anybody else and all that other stuff. Someone is happy to sell you lessons for anything you want to do. They are absolutely delighted to take you on a range with completely safe conditions nobody down range for two miles. Then they're delighted to focus on me shot you took that hit and Pat you on the back and tell you what a good boy you are and how well you're advancing and the next lesson is another hundred dollars. Then everybody is so proud of their training in this lonely deserted absolutely safe place for stray rounds and focuses on the times they hit the target out of ten. Now everybody thinks this kind of training is exactly what we need in the school with an armed teacher. I'm curious when this next school shooting goes on at some place where the teachers armed what is going to happen to the teacher who shot a student in a panic? Who's going to pay the civil damages if you shoot a student and put him in a wheelchair and he needs about five million dollars worth of medical care for the rest of his life? I personally would rather hit you with the gun then hit you with the bullet.

I was convicted in 1991 by the US courts in Philadelphia for lying on a 4473 and felon in possession stemming from a receiving stolen property conviction in Bucks County Pennsylvania in 1985. The usual procedure is to defer to state however my conviction did not prohibit me from owning a gun on the state level (my county probation officer told me in 1987 I could own a gun as I wasn't convicted of a crime of violence) so the US government picked up the charges and prosecuted me under 18 USC 922(g)1. If SCOTUS strikes down the felon in possession statute at least for nonviolent convictions, I will make sure I get documentation from a legal source about my eligibility before purchasing a firearm. A NICS denial can lead to felony charges and the US government does not want to hear any excuses of ignorance.

Many jurisdictions, especially Florida, allow felons to own Antique guns. We're talking single-shot, over .50 caliber, black powder rifles. Along with Black powder Cap & Ball revolvers. Firearms from around the time period of the early start of the Old West (1830s) to around the end of the Civil War.
One particular CZcams content creator is a felon in America. He's open and honest about that. Those are the types of guns he carries. Rifle in his truck. Large cylinder revolver on his person. And with technology from back then, you can forget about it being a six-shooter. Five-shooter. Got to keep that hammer resting on an empty chamber. Fast re-loads? Obviously not. But better than nothing. Heck, in some states, law-abiding citizens with clean criminal records don't even get THAT option! So, if you're a felon _or a slave_ you get various sized canisters of Pepperspray. And you learn the *proper* technique for using them!

I don't think people understand that a person who has a felony has overstepped a rule somewhere quite a ways and that's why we don't let them have a gun. Easy answer just keep the firearm stashed in the bowels of your house for emergencies, I was a felon and I borrowed my dads gun in an emergency ( someone pulled a gun on my girlfriend at the time needed to get her home safe ( which I did ) ) Sherrifs pulled me over 4 blocks from my house. Bailed out later that morning, called my Beverly Hills Lawyer he got me 3 weeks in county + 4 years felony probation, my advice is even if you are a felon, if it's for home defense keep a gun stashed, and have 10-20k in cash ready for a lawyer, not a big deal. If they really try to screw you then sue your city/state/county for taking away your 2nd amendmant rights, if enough of us felons fight back we will get our rights back, and to be honest they can't take your rights away when you have a gun so be advised no one whos an american citzen can have their rights to bear arms taken away period...

Sometimes I wonder, could a previously convicted (non-violent) felon that served their time sentence in jail/prison and no longer has probation have the right to self defense using a compound bow & arrows or even a crossbow?? Depends on local listings and laws I guess (Tom Grieve's advice).

If somehow you found yourself in the position of doing these nonviolent felonies it might suggest that you need to steer your life a little bit differently. If you were that sure someone is after you that you have to have a crossbow land around the judge May wonder what it is that you were doing is causing you to have such animosity in the community. I know we love this mysterious bad guy that roams the land harming others he's never met, if that was the only criminal we had we would have them all caught in a minute. Most of the people who are doing acts of violence to each other are disputing over money or family. You might be able to wait until the great deal of time has passed 5-10 years keep your nose clean and go back and ask the court to expunge your record, and restore all your rights.

@@markmcgoveran6811 are you everyone's therapist or something? Over here lecturing people about one's life choices and how that gives the government the right to take away a CIVIL RIGHT. Until 1968, it was not allowed. The government has a duty to protect its citizens and lock away violent criminals or execute them. Not put citizens at risk by letting them roam free and creating little traps for the people who just want to own a gun for hunting only self defense or allowing truly violent criminals to get out and reoffend for them to make more money off of other citizens trauma and pain. See the only people that suffer by letting violent criminals out are the citizens, and the people who learned their lesson, suffer at the hands of the government system. You are a joke dude. You have no idea how the real world works do you? Self defense situations can be viewed as murder real quick with today's laws, and a self defense fight can turn on you too. You should probably read how ridiculous the laws are before criticizing everyone's actions. Also educate yourself on the history of the second amendment and why these laws are not constitutional. The government has the authority to place someone on lifetime parole and restrict weapons use. Why the need for the law? Why are we releasing violent criminals? Why do we punish people for life for a lesson well learned after the debt it paid? That's the real questions we should be asking.

So since you were convicted of crime, then remedied the offense by a judge who handed down the sentence. But what I'm hearing is it's better to go on the run, or deny involvement to avoid being accountable for offense. Because taking responsibility and serving a sentence equates to a lifetime of limitations and continued punishment , oh and so sorry but if you are in immediate danger from an attacker, well hope your female 5'4 , and 120 lb self can out run a bullet or overpower a 250 lb man., Because your life is meaningless now and we think its well deserved to be helpless to protect your own life.😂.

There seems to be a huge consensus that we need to have more felons with guns. We've got one guy on here that's blame in the whole world for his felony and he's a law-abiding citizen, but just part-time. When he's not committing a felony he's a great guy and he deserves to have a gun so he can blame somebody else for his crime next time.
