That was a great camp spot along that river. That was a pretty big river. That was a pretty day of hiking!

Been following your vlogs for a few days now. I'm currently section hiking the Ocala National Forest on my days off from work. Thankful for all the people who have helped shuttle me from one stop to the next so I can complete more miles. This video inspired me to make it out to White Springs and section hike this area eventually. I have a week off from work in a couple of weeks. Was planning on Rice Creek & Etoniah Creek & Camp Blanding near Palatka but this video may have convinced me to check this area out instead for a couple of day hikes. Thanks again and hope to catch up with your current video by the end of today :-)

So cool 😎 sleeping next to a river or creek is the best … great 👍 video and music bed

PT You’ve gotten really good at vlogging. I’ve watched you since the AT and you’ve really become a polished filmmaker!

I'm working on it. Still have a long way to go though. I learned a lot from Marmalade, when we hiked the Long Trail.

Some of the best hiking is along the river. Looked like an excellent day.

I am just amazed at the flow of the Suwannee.

Quite a unique pine tree and roots at the 2:50 mark

That bridge that looked like a wooden ladder. Yep, I would have gotten wet.

I see you were here around 16 Feb. I have been following and wanted to meet you along the trail around the Eglin area as it goes past hwy 285 then crosses the range to hwy 85 (about 14 miles). It seems you may pass this area while I am out of town. I leave 1 Mar and will not be back until Mar 10th or later. I suspect you will be done by then and I will miss the opportunity to say hello. If you get to this area before 1 Mar, please make a comment to let me know about when you might be around hwy 285. Also, the camp spot near the river. Is it near a trailhead that might allow a day hiker to hike in and camp for the evening? I am over 70 yrs old and only able to do day hikes now, but a night on the river could be possible if the hike in is not too far or multiple days. We have a camper and have stayed numerous time at Stephen Foster State Park near White Springs We will now have to try the BBQ place. Thanks. Oh...a huge thanks for taking us along!

Not sure yet when I'll be in that area, I've been getting some pretty big miles in lately. I'm going to be at mile marker 800 soon. I'm just going day to day.

Hey, PT. Just catching up. I'm way behind on watching my hiker channels: too much political stuff to stay on top of.
It just dawned on me that the FT is the opposite of the AT: You go UP into town to resupply and do laundry, then DESCEND back into the swamp! Heading out of town doesn't have the dread of "The Climb Out" associated with it.
Enjoyed the scenery. It's pretty bland up here in New England. More snow on the way tonight! 😒

The Florida Trail has a lot to offer this time of year. I would never want to hike it in the spring or summer.

@@probationtermination No doubt. When the cold-blooded beasties warm up, they go on the hunt, and the blood sucking ones will drain you dry. It would be like Massachusetts swamps in the heat of summer. Lots of Thruhikers mention how brutal it is.
I've hiked that section. You end up praying for heavy rains just to keep them off.
