Thanks PT,,,I am in your state, been to Edward ball wakulla springs state park,,,,, also went to Mark's lighthouse, done some hiking, it was. Cold and wet,,,,,be back in mountains this weekend, take care 30 miles is moving out
30 miles, great job. When I hiked trails early in the morning I used a small branch with a forked end to capture the webs. Banana spiders plain freak me out!
Hey PT. I just came across this and binge watched up to this point. Lived my first 42 years in Orlando, travelled the state a lot and never knew there were so many swamp areas, especially north of central Florida and in the Panhandle. I think I would have to have the comfort item of chest high waders to hike the FT! But I loved seeing the Christmas thru Suwannee section. I really do miss the Live Oak trees here in Kentucky. Climbed a lot of them throughout Orlando. Enjoy the rest of your hike. BYW, it was nice to finally see a FT video by someone who knows how to pronounce Kissimmee, Oviedo, and Ocala, LOL.
I hate road walking. The only thing to recommend it is the availability of air conditioned (heated, in cold weather) restaurants, when available, and resupply options. Not too many photo opportunities. Thanks, PT!
Does REI sell a hat in the style that you're wearing today but in a super fluorescent bright orange so I don't get shot by the hunters around here? Very much enjoying these videos and dreading the end of this hike. I mean, I'm dreading there being no more videos
@@probationtermination I just ordered a bright orange hat from the Florida Trail association Does REI sell used and refurbished gear that gets returned? ( Like backpacks or hammocks ) I'm looking to save some money on some gently used gear
Don't spend too much time in Bristol...get over to Hillcrest Baptist Church (look it up in Farout...formerly Guthook). The Wilton Hilton is the best place on the trail. Call Wilt on your way in and let him know your going to be there...and plan a zero if you can...they have laundry facilities.
My last day on the AT was from Neel’s Gap to Springer 30.3 I believe. However, I did not have to walk through any swamps to do that. Happy Hiking
30 miles!!! Bet that bed felt good! Mtn Goat

Congratulations on a 30 miles day. Must have been a bummer with the 1st hotel full. Hike~~On~~>
Bro, when there was no vacancy at the first one I had a pit in my stomach!

I suspect that the Florida Trail should be renamed the Florida Amphibious Trail :)
That's a long day man...
Ouch! Congrats on the first 30. I’ve heard the AT bubbles are big this year. What can you report on the Florida Trail bubbles?
Only one bubble of about 8 or 9 hikers, I passed them yesterday.

It is an REI hat, but it only comes in one color. Funny, your dreading it, I'm sooo Looking forward to it!

Some REI stores do. Ours does not outright sell used gear, but we do have our garage sale items which is returned gear.

Yes, I spent 2 nights there. Slack packed day 2. Best hospitality on the trail. Videos out soon
No bed time stories? That's a long day
Congratulations on 30 PT. Take Care keep your feet dry. LOL
So was that twenty miles of road walking on the trail or could you not get a hitch?
The trail is a road walk. This trail has several roadwalks over 20 miles.
