Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya is an adults only, all-inclusive resort located just north of Playa del Carmen, Mexico. It was previously Secrets Capri but it underwent a renovation and was rebranded as a Hyatt Zilara. When you’re trying to decide on a room, Hyatt has 13 or maybe 14 different room categories depending on how you break it down but, regardless, It is a smaller resort with only 291 rooms so there is understandable only a few rooms available in some of these categories.
We show you the different room categories and where they are located within the resort.
We show you the inside of of two different rooms. The first with two double beds and the second with a king bed. Both are tropical view rooms.
These are the different room categories available:
    King
    Double
    Tropical view King
    Tropical view Doubles
    Ocean View King
    Ocean View Terrace King
    Tropical View Swim up King
    Resort View Swim up King
    Ocean Front King
    Ocean Front Doubles
    Ocean Front Private Pool King
    Ocean Front Swim Up King
Ocean Front one Bedroom Master Suite
    Presidential Suite
There are very few rooms at the resort with two double beds, just over 20, I believe. Booking early might be important at this resort if you want to make sure you have two beds in the room. Most suites have kings and if you want a rollaway I would contact the resort about it before you book just in case they don’t actually have any or if they do they need to make sure that one is allocated to your room.
If you are a smoker you should know that the only smoking area at this resort is out front of the main building. There is no smoking allowed anywhere else on the resort including your balcony or terrace.
We hope this video helps you to decide which room might work best for you if you have decided Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya is your best choice.

I just booked the resort and was surprised to hear the day pass. I posted a question at the resort fan page on FB and called the resort regarding the day pass and was told the fee will only be applicable if you plan to still use the room after the check out time, i guess similar to late check-out fee. If you were to wait in the lobby for example until your air transfer pick up time after 3pm, you will be fine.

We thought that too but that wasn't the case for us and several others while we were there.
The resort manager explained to us that If we wanted to partake of the all inclusive parts of the resort - so ALL food or drinks - after 3pm we needed to buy a day pass for each person. Yes, I suppose you can sit in the lobby until your transfer arrives and not eat or drink anything but our transfers did not pick us up until after 6 pm. I didn't really want to sit in the lobby from 3pm on waiting for a shuttle.
We thought we could have a late lunch at 3pm and wait in a restaurant but they said 'no' to that too. Nothing to eat or drink past 3 without paying. We were also told we could not use the resort spa showers without booking a treatment of some kind.
I was not impressed to say the least.
I hope it works out better for you. ☺️ Enjoy your trip! The cocktails are fantastic 👍😃

Thanks for the detailed video I'm sorry you had so many issues with your stay Most of them i could ignore but the partially consumed drinks in the fridge was bad and day pass was a deal breaker for me I would never consider this resort now

Thanks! We could get past most things, as well, and I'm sure if I complained loud and long things would have improved but I really don't want to have to do that on vacation.
We expected better attention to detail at this price point. If it was priced to be mid-tier then I would have understood not sweating the small stuff a bit more. After all, it is true more often than not that "you get what you pay for" but we paid a similar price for our trip to Secrets Moxche (around the same time of year) and it was not comparable.
We all agreed we would go back but only if the price was right.
The day pass fee at check-out was shocking to say the least. I was sitting next to a couple taking the 9pm Westjet flight back to YYZ and they were angry.

Thanks David! No evening flights to JFK? That's a bummer.
Yes, we try to video early so as not to disturb other guests, or at least as few as possible.
      Have a great week! 🙂

I am a solo traveller, a senior, my interest is Mexico Riveria Maya Grand Parasio with butler service
Do u know if they allow 2 - 3 month stays?
I am quiet like my alone time think this resort might be a good place to relax from the everyday world

      Hi Lynda!
Thanks for watching. I hope you find the videos helpful.
Iberostar Grand Paraiso is a good choice for a longer stay because you have access to the other family resorts if you feel like a change of scenery. Good food, service, pools, beach and the butlers can sort out your dinner reservations and anything else you may need.
I don't see why they wouldn't allow a longer stay. I would try and negotiate for a reduced rate or at least no single supplement charges. Consider bringing a fire stick to have Disney + and others as the TV can get a bit boring.
      Hope that helps a bit.
