We are headed there in September. Can't wait. Thanks for the content. Well organized straight forward reviews. Very informative.ð
Hi BigGuyXC! Lucky you! I hope you have a great time - sounds like the menus have changed since we were there 2 months ago, so I'm sure you'll have a whole bunch of new treats to try! Enjoy!
Hello from Kelowna! We're looking at this resort. Great video
Hello Michelle. Replying from rainy Vancouver! This is a great resort - I'd love to go back! Thanks for watching!
Just came back from a week at the Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya and I agree. The food was amazing!!
Hi Lisa! Oh wow that's great! What type of room were you in? What was your favourite restaurant?
Thanks for this in depth video of all the food :)
Hi Independent Jessy! Thanks for watching!
Everything looks so good! I was hoping to see the menus for the other restaurants as well. I have a seafood allergy and I just like to know ahead of arrival. But I know for sure that Iâll be spending a lot of time getting those churros! ð
Hi Niecy! I think I posted the weblink to the menus in my Live videos but will add it to the description of this one - good catch. I quite enjoy looking at the menus too - donât want to miss out on anything!!
@Niecy610 Here's the website for the menus - hzlrm.resortsbyhyatt.com/#/property-hub/dining
Thank you Christine, I canât wait to go!
Hi great video ⊠my wife and I went to there about 5 years ago when it was secrets Capri ⊠one of the activities they offered every day on there itinerary was the walk to the lagoon ⊠does Hyatt offer that as well ?
Hi Edward! No not that I'm aware of. There is a cenote nearby or on the property but I think Hyatt tends to steer away from anything that could get them in hot water from a liability perspective. Was the lagoon near the cenote?
Thank you for your very helpful review! Are the oysters and scallops at Lolas included or an extra cost? Are they on the menu?
Hi PreciousSodaLicious! Thanks for watching! If you click the link in the description, you'll see the menus for each restaurant, as well as the items that are available for an upcharge. On the dinner menu, they have Chingon Oysters for US $20 (6pc). The mussels that I had at lunch were included and were amazing!
Do you know if the nacho chips or tortillas are corn or flour ? I have celiac and would love them to be cornð
Hi Petbren! I'd say the chips were flour tortillas fried up as chips but they did have a pretty good gluten free zone at the buffet, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they didn't have some sort of option that would work for you. Please do ask if you are booked there - we'd love to know!
Was there for NYE and as a vegetarian they just didnât have much of a selection especially at the carts and poolside lunch foods. Also, a little turned off when I went to the buffet and asked if I can just go in and get a dessert to go and they told me no. So I just went to the coffee shop for a sweet treat but thought it was weird they told me no :/.
Hi Melissa! Agreed - the food carts are limited but I think the restaurants have all the ingredients at their disposal, so that's where they can be a little more creative when it come to making special dietary requests. Sorry to hear about the dessert at the buffet - I'm sure that's a normal 'rule' so that they don't end up with food all over the resort BUT I also bet it's something that they would make exceptions too once they've been open a few months. Staff aren't going to break any rules at the start because they don't want to risk getting reprimanded or losing their jobs but you know what it's like 6+ months in - they make exceptions all the time for things. Thanks for sharing your experience!
do you need reservations or no issues with waits? peak times for dinner?
You only need reservations for the Teppanyaki show cooking tables and the Sushi bar - everything else, you just show up & they seat you when a table's available. Everything's so close - if they don't have a table ready, put your name on the list and go for a cocktail. Peak times in general are 7-8pm, but it will depend on the mix of guests when you're there. If all the others normally eat at 5pm or 6pm, heading there for 7pm would be perfect for you. It'll change week to week. Hope that helps!
Is it hard to get a reservation at the restaurants? Can I make them before I arrive?
Hi AyyeYee! Most people prefer to just walk in, so there likely won't be a ton of advanced reservations. If your room category includes Butler service, they can make arrangements for you; otherwise, I'm email the resort or message them on Facebook to ask about making them prior to your arrival. Have a great trip!
Is there a strict dress code for restaurants?
Hi Ken! No they're very civilized about this, unlike those 2.5* resorts out there that demand men wear long pants in outdoor non-air conditioned restaurants. As long as you're wearing dress shorts, a collared shirt, and dress sandals, you're fine. For women, as long as they're not wearing flip flops, it's pretty much anything goes (we get quite lucky on this at most resorts - Hyatt or otherwise!).
Would appreciate more if gloves were used for food prep. Hygiene is key.
Hi INZGuy! Unfortunately, they weren't allowing any behind-the-scenes tours, so I didn't see into any of the kitchens, but from the ones I have seen in Mexico, they were as clean as any decent restaurant I've seen in North America. Thanks for watching!
The servers werenât wearing any either.
@@inzguy Yeah that's pretty standard throughout North America unless you're getting White Glove Service.
Bad habits are bad habits and even if people are wearing gloves, they're probably touching things that they shouldn't, before going back to touching food that you'll put in your mouth. Turned me off of ordering a michelada in Puerto Vallarta after watching a woman wipe her nose, touch dollar bills, and then resume making the drink with shrimp, etc. So gross!
I think they get watched pretty closely at resorts like this though!
