When the case's resolution is higher than my main display
It's got more pixels than a standard 1440p monitor even.
1100x3840=4224000
1440x2560=3686400
I spit my water when I read this comment. Hahaha. Stop it. I said STOP IT! 😂😂😂😂😂
@@Haydrion Most people game at 1440p or 1080p, so he's not wrong.
Glad I'm not the only one that was depressed by that lmfao
@@rustler08 I know. I got 1080p monitor 144hz some I'm in that category. The fact that it's true is what slapped me. I had to laugh.
That Daft Punk reference only gets more perfect if it was on a RAM stick
Also he should use Gainward card... So that would be legend of the phoenix xD
I love the reference to that song.
Wait… I just really really like that song
I’m sad they aren’t together any more.
I need something more! I need something more.... In my mind.
Going to get Random Access Memory going soon🤣
"touch, sweet touch, you've almost convinced me I'm real" is a line in the song "Touch" by Daft Punk, pretty solid reference tbh, makes me think about getting this case more before the intro is even done :P
I have to say that's one of the coolest pieces of tech I've seen in a long time. Well done Hyte!
A touch screen 😂😂😂
@@Ant_Stark And bigger and more space + more airflow with bigger gaps in the fins!
95% of clientele have their PC case out of sight
@@micahroberts3564 and where do you get that those numbers from?
@@Nightmase that is an easy answer if you sit down and think about it. think about the ratio of home PC vs what the average office may contain. then what ratio have their PC on their work desk.
The "Touch... sweet touch" thing is a quote from the song Touch by Daft Punk
Glad to see you doing builds in these cases to get a better idea how it is IRL
Jay, I think you found my new pc case for me, Thank you!! The Y70 ticks EVERY box on what I have been looking for to make my machine truly mine, with the added bonus of not having to have a separate control panel and display for temps and such. I may not be running a 40 series card atm, but this case also future-proofs for that. Keep up the great videos sir, have been enjoying them since I was pointed your way.
Looks awesome wish it wasn’t so expensive but it’s definitely cool to see a case manufacturer doing something different
I hope that hyte makes the software for the panel available to be used on other panels. Would be much simpler than other sensor panel softwares. Especially being designed specifically for touch screens. Also the new aio was already revealed by GN when they visited hyte. It's a thick boi
The last one is a daft punk reference
yes, yes it is :D
That damn song gets me every time even though I prefered the older albums, that warmth.
This song always reminds me of Minecraft at the very beginning and then Cowboy Beebop immediately after. And then the lyrics start 😢🕺😢🕺
Shame him for not knowing Daft Punk lyrics.
It's one of my favorite on the ram album because it's a tie in to technologic on the human after all album.
You almost never see artists doing something like that and it's really cool.
Also that Chucky robot still gives me the creeps.
So I started my tech journey with LTT. But I've since learned more and used JTC pc build videos to build my first pc. Jay. You have brought more interesting content time and time again and I thank you.
That's a nice idea..
Kind of reminds me of those 5.25¨ drive bay touch screen accessories. Used to have one to control fan speed etc.
This takes it to the next level.
That case is my new dream case for a build, The Y60 was my previous favourite, now they went and made it better. have a great day to you and your team.
I’m concerned about having to use half height components and the access to the component behind the graphics card. On the other hand, you don’t have to worry about the weight of todays huge graphics cards.
Freaking loved the random Daft Punk song quote on the box and how confused Jay was about it lmaoooo
"Touch, sweet touch!"
YOU'VE ALMOST CONVINCED ME I'M REAL
I've got a Y60 and I love it. And yes, my 4090FE does sit uncomfortably close to the glass. But, surprisingly, I've never had any heat issues with it.
Got a snow edition on pre-order, after watching every video I could find. One thing no one is really talking about is that the top rad bracket has at least 2 mounting positions, which will make it a lot easier to go with a custom loop with more than a 30mm thick rad. The big question is how much room is there up top, can you use a 60mm thick rad with push-pull, or just a single set of fans, how about a 45mm with P-P. I'd really like to go with a 60 up top and a 45 on the side, both with PP fan setup.
this case to me blows all the others out of the water i absolutely love love it and thanks again Jay for the amazing demonstration, and Phil with the epic as usual editing love you guys!!!
From one Boomer to another, look up the lyrics associated with Daft Punks' Giorgio by Moroder. You'll not be suprised by the box anymore.
Hehe then from another boomer go check Giorgio's musical Carreer. A goat...
@@elruchalpeople call me Giorgio
It's actually the song Touch off the same album. That's the lyrics of the chorus.
I can't tell if the Y70 has it from any of the angles seen in the build montage, but the Y60 has an extra, undocumented 2.5" drive mount that I discovered while doing my build last year. If you take out the 3.5" drive sleds and look at the support collar (or whatever you'd call that metal shroud surrounding the hole they go in), there are two holes in the side that's facing toward the side panel, and they happen to be spaced exactly the same as the front and rear screw holes on a 2.5" drive. So, with a stubby screwdriver and two screws, you can mount a 2.5" drive vertically to that collar before sliding the drive sleds back in, and there's enough clearance for everything to fit without scraping or scratching anything.
There may also be a another similar pair of holes on the inner side of the collar, facing the motherboard, but I can't tell from any of the photos I can find and I'm not about to disassemble mine to find out for sure.
Love this case - it is so original and beautiful looking. I have used my own 10" monitor to display temps and loads but I think what is killer on this case is the software for their panel. Beautifully done. Something to consider in the future.
if the price goes down to like 150 sure... 400 bux ill definately pass
The impact is probably minimal but it would be interesting to see how the addition of that screen affects performance, being that it is essentially half of a 4K 60Hz display.
i'd like to see the impact of the internal temps!
My guess is its negligible. Maybe a couple percent at worst.
Modern GPUs are just so overkill for "desktop applications" like this, a second or even third display thats just acting as a dektop won't make much difference.
Maybe there are software optimization issues though.
My primary concern is because it takes up a GPU slot people with multi-monitor setups like me will need to get creative with MST since GPUs only typically have 3-4 connectors. For reference, i have a triple monitor sim cockpit and a 4k TV connected.
Benchmarks comparing the impact of aditional displays in Windows already exist, just look for it and extrapolate the data, also take into account this one has the overhead of the custom software to handle it.
Curious too. I know it's not AS intensive, but when I run wallpaper engine across 4 monitors using a 4070Ti, someitmes it can result in -20 FPS across various games. Yes I know, 'don't run WE when playing games', but it's nice to know how a graphically intensive app runs in the background of your day to day processes. This would be a good pointer.
@@Erowens98Since that small display is all you could be running off it, why not just put in a small video card like a GT 730?
The Y70 might just be the Hyte case I've been waiting for. I want to see a few more through reviews for it, but seeing the increased airflow is very encouraging the the one thing the Y60 really lacked.
I agree, however, I am going to buy this. My bank account is going to take a hit.
its 380 bucks, kinda spendy for a case, but damn, gonna be one that should last (as cases should). Might have to get one too when I build all new again, which should be soonish.
@@SirLANsalot i built 3 weeks ago and im honestly considering transplanting into this 😅
@@hashpipe710 My current case is a Themaltake level 10 GT, which at the time I built this computer was already not being made anymore. Would have loved to gotten a white version but that was rare to begin with. Great case still.
I recently did a build in the Hyte Revolt 3 which turned out pretty well. I'd use this brand again in the future.
I have a PCIe WiGig card for my HTC Vive Pro and I had to modify it with a custom low profile PCIe bracket because this card was never built for low profile and there is no optional bracket available. Was pretty proud of the mod honestly. It looks great and works just like the original.
Touch sweet touch, you've almost convinced me I'm real is from a Daft Punk song called Touch.
Well...I think I found my new case. This thing is awesome. I'm really glad the increased the airflow compared to the Y60. Having that extra panel is just awesome. Great vid Jay!
I'me with you. I'll buy this as soon as it comes available in the UK.
rush rush ruuuuuush to give them 400 bux so you can open file explorer or have a screensaver on it lol@@ianplowman8689
Good to see lots of build vids again, so cool for local control of your home automation
That case is absolutely stunning! I love the way it's set up and how spacious it is. As soon as I'm able to get one in the UK, I'll be looking to change out my iCue 465x RGB White case for one.
I would love to see a case with a screen as the side panel, not just a small corner screen, but an actual full size screen. We wouldn't need to buy a 2nd screen for some basic stuff like this one can do, but it would also be better as it would be bigger, so we could play videos or music or chats on it and we could play games with our main monitor. Dang, it got me dreaming now!
Would love to see a custom water loop build in this.
Is Just Great looking & Love it Good Job Hyte
nice!! I'm currently case shopping and the y70 just pushed up to the top of my list.
That display is sick! I just built a new rig but that case got me thinking for real.
Beautiful case. The screen is really neat, and I'm genuinely surprised someone didn't think of it sooner, considering this has been in vehicles for so long, and we can also remember the 5.25 bays with screens.
The narrow PCI card slots is a deal breaker for me, though. They should just widen the case a couple of inches. Someone else will copycat their screen for larger towers, and I can get one then. Also, I still generally prefer my GPU to be horizontal, instead of vertical.
People have been DIY'ing a screen onto that portion of the Y60 for a couple years now. It's nothing new. 🙄
@@serious.business yeah, for many years people have been modding many things, lmao
Really cool, would've liked the slots in the back to be a removable bracket, and have the option for full height pcie at the sacrifice of lesser or even no vertical support
That screen is awesome! Thanks for the vid Jay and crew!
Glad to see they improved the airflow! One of the reasons why I went with the Phanteks NV5. Much harder choice now.
I didn't think the airflow was bad at all in the 60. I sit at around 30 Celsius at rest and 45ish under load.
They should make the half height and vertical height brackets changeable so that when you’re using a liquid cooled card, you can push it to the outer most edge and then change the cage of the half hight to full height so you still have all your access
That's probably patented since the only brand that I know that do that is lian li...
Well this is designed solely for those Cartoons that think vertical mount GPU's are neato. Nice case in a few ways but far too niche' to be a practical money maker for Hyte.
Will definitely be using one of these now in the future. I liked the Y60 but the minor changes they have made and the sensor panel make this a really interesting case for a build.
totally worth 400 bux to change volume or open file explorer... dont know how i have survived without this!!!! lmao
🤷♂
Jayz, one trick I learned in my building PCs Turn the box upside down, open the bottom flaps and then turn the right way around with the flaps all spread open, this will then let you lift the box off like a square tube.
Jay, I binged all of your skunkworks videos and I absolutely love the Caselabs SM8. I wish I could buy one. I love that the case has a basement compartment and all the room you'd ever need for whatever you wanna do and is incredibly modular. I hope this next revision of Skunkworks is amazing and best of luck to you
if you want a case like that then the Lian Li V3000 plus is a great equivalent
@@MikeZak101 Or 1000D
For the most part i do like the case design, but limiting your PCI expansion cards to half-height would be a deal breaker for me. I was really surprised to see how high the resolution was for that side panel. Pretty impressive, really.
I guess 90% of the people won't ever use additional pci slots anyway
honestly outside of a capture card which is mostly streamer centric I can't think of a single expansion card that general computer user has outside of a gpu these days.
@nucphyschem1 I always have a sound card. People don't always prioritize sound quality or even realize how bad onboard audio is compared to having a good dedicated sound card. I've always had 5.1 or 7.1 home theater speakers connected to my pc. Gaming and playing music is a lot more enjoyable with surround sound
@@brianm2578 that's fair but I would argue that's fairly niche comparatively in this day and age. I would actually argue triple screen or quad screen setups would represent a larger percentage than the sound card community
@@brianm2578 have you heard about DACs?
OK that case is freaking Awesome! I haven't built a personal rig in over 10 years. This would be a fun chassis!
I have the nzxt h7 flow and I too have the header power reset connector and I love it. I have big hands and it was always tricky for me to plug the little tiny individual connectors in
I was wondering when case manufacturers were going to make something like this. Although I think it's kinda overkill for the most part, the twitch chat thing is a really good idea. They should also include GPU controls like geforce experience or amd adrenaline so you can change settings or look at benchmarks.
You could always open Afterburner and drop the window in that monitor...
GPU controls like that are only something extreme enthusiasts would use, normal folks never look at that nonsense as it's useless for 99% of applications.
@@animalyze7120 Home economics 101, balance and use what you need to and nothing more, I'm just a normal dad working a normal 40-60 hour career every week, I have a nice PC but i limit and micro managed my settings as to not use more power than necessary, being able to use that touch panel would have made my initial setup and configuration easier but not game changing.
My theory is that 99% of us in the states aren't rich enough to avoid the current state of our economy, being able to manage what our PC's are doing and pulling from the wall is kinda cool, plus i think most people will endup either bot running a PC or fine tuning their lives to allow for a little R&R, I work hard and don't have much time day to day to play but when I do it's nice to be able to.
@@animalyze7120I completely disagree, it would be invaluable for setting up the graphics per game

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but the "Touch, Sweet touch" line on the box is from a Daft Punk track .... called wait for it... Touch on the Random Access Memories album.
It’s so cool but damn the $400 price tag is ROUGH. Also that line on the box is a lyric from a Daft Punk/Paul Williams song.
you have been the first to catch onto the lyric 💛
@@hytebrandyou could reward me with one of these amazing cases! 😂❤ love the reference, Hyte team
I'm considering a Hyte case for my next build.
i am too
@hytebrand this case has my attention. That's saying a lot. My current pc is in a Thermaltake Core X71, and it has served me very well, but it is aggregiously large. I like the screen panel a lot. Many use possibilities.
That last line on the box is a reference to Daft Punk's "Touch" from Random Access Memories. I think it's actually a nice little easter egg, but I'm not so sure I like the implications with it being right under the waifu line...
Great to see you build in the case. 😀
Sweet Touch. Daft Punk reference lol
Now folks can waste their time on TikTok not even get their cellphones! 😆
This is cool. I would love to see a replacement product for the removable glass in the Y60. I've already got a 13" Monitor behind the front glass of my Y60 and use it for Hardware info and Afterburner while gaming. A touch panel would be a great addition.
Awesome looking case, I didn't see anything listed on their site but it would be icing on the cake if they supported Linux based operating systems with their software for the panel or even designing their own controller that wouldn't need to run on the system or use the panel as a second display as an option.
This case looks sick! When I'm doing my 50 series build I might consider this as long as it plays nicely with Linux
I doubt they will even code a version of their software for Linux due to the focus on gaming which is basically still all Windows. that said since its just a screen, depending on how it works as a touch screen its quite possible one might still be able to get both the display and touch functionality in Linux. That is, is the touch something purely Hyte or is it just a generic LCD touch screen as I know Linux can use touch screens.
It doesn’t look “sick”. Use proper terminology. The proper term is “It looks great!”.
This case looks Gnarly :)
Great review Jay! Thank you for all the hard work you've done. And yes.... we're all waifu fans here 👀
Sick case!
We need more like Hyte and Yeston
Will you make a cheaper version of the y70 without the screen? I love the Y60 but it is too small for my GPU.
"touch sweet touch, youve almost convinced me i'm real" ~ daft punk - Touch. love this song
@12:48 Airplane mode exists. For when you need to fidget with your Desktop cases built iin display while it's plugged iin during a flight.
I wonder if you could make that touch screen basically an in-built streamdeck of sorts?
It's monitor, find the app that will do that and yes.
that would be even a cheaper option then the streamdeck itself.. damn nice idea
Apparently it doesn't let you post links.
Yes you can do this with UP Deck. It has a web-interface that you can basically load a popup window with buttons that interact with the software as well as with your ios/android device like normal. But since it's in a popup window, you could totally move it over, resize and set the columns and rows you want, and just maximize it on the other 'monitor' which would be this.
Totally doable. I use an old iPhone 6S for this purpose right now and since it's useless for anything else, it's perfect for this.
Good idea 🤔
@@Xenoray1 than*
Ive seen other videos on this and while it is a cool concept and all, i dont really see it as legitimately practical. I mean, in order to use the screen to its fullest, you need to be within arms reach of it. Which means you are going have the pc closer to you. Which then means, depending on your cooling solution, you are going to hear and have to deal with the noise of the pc as it is now closer to you. I mean, one of the perks of it is seeing twitch chat, but if you are a streamer and that pc is now closer to you, you are going to have to jump through some hoops to either reroute your mic or EQ the sound of your pc out
I think it “could” definitely be practical for a few who would take full advantage of it…personally I would have pc info and the rest would be anime pics, lol.
if you are paying this much money on a case there is absolutely no feasible way the fans you are using fans that would be loud enough to bother you while gaming, my pc is within arms reach and with open back headphones my game audio drowns out any sound that comes from my pc, even with speakers, plus with how many people game with closed back and iems that issue is non existent
for streamers, if you are thinking of buying such an expensive case before a quality mic setup that ONLY picks up your voice then you have your priorities all wrong, i have a dynamic mic with a goxlr mini and even with my pc fans at 100% plus game audio coming out of my speakers my mic still doesnt pick any of it up, even with an eq that should make pc fans louder
so in short, if you are spending 400 dollars on a pc CASE then it would be impressive if every other piece of your setup isnt top quality and the limiting factor would be the size of your room so you can then have a big enough desk to put it on
My pc is literally right next to me. I would love this.
Love the build videos.
Seems cool and versatile. Also seems like the best candidate burn-in more than any other screen application I can think of.
I've moved my case to the floor as far away as I could get it due to coil whine. I'm not sure I'll ever build in a case designed to be on my desk or at ear height until GPU/PSU makers figure out how to get rid of coil whine entirely.
What games are you playing?
I can't hear any coil whine over the sound of my GPU fans.
I use Headphones when I game I don't hear anything n when I'm not gaming pc is always quiet.
protip: limit your fps in software to whatever your monitor refresh rate is. I notised that I had coilwhine in a simple 2d game cause just menu pulled something like 2k fps :D. Whine went away when I hard capped it to 144
you can reduce coil whine if by undervolting your graphics card and limiting your framerate. if youre willing to open up your card, using a bit of low viscosity cryanoacrylate superglue (loctite) in between the coil chokes & and letting it cure for an hour can reduce the noise substantially. my card is super quiet as of late
This is actually pretty exciting, sure HYTE may have built some good software for the panel, but i can't wait to see what the community does with it! , i'm also hooping they'll sell the panel as an upgrade for the Y60, just so i don't have to change my whole case for it :)
They have a Y60 LCD DIY Kit listed on their website, but it's OOS. It's listed at $150 and you have to 3d print your own mount.
There's a video on Hyte's YT channel on how to install it as well.
@@tsuzot8192 yeah i had noticed that, but with the y70 they have the whole panel as one unit (rather than as an add-on) and it's 4k and touch screen, which is a huge upgrade on the 1080p LCD screen. i would imagine the new Panel on the y70 could be compatible with the y60 as it's part of the case that doesn't appear to have changed in dimension
Just bare in mind the actual screen is slightly smaller on the Y70 due to the frame surround - 15.1" for the Y60 screen and 14.1" on the Y70@@TheHarleyEvans
“Hooping” eh? 😂😂😂😂
100% agree about the separate sale. i love my 011 Evo (like every other basic builder XD) and this screen would really accent it well.
Beautiful case! Sadly it seems that my preferred webshop currently only has the black version with red accents listed. I hope by the time I get to build a new pc the white version is readily available
Regarding "someone in the company likes wifus" Hyte has had collaborations with a mayor Vtuber company (Hololive), even launched some special versions of cases of this design, so its not only very suitable, they already have market to sell the display separately to those folks that already have a waifu hyte pc
I'm not far down that rabbit hole however if they did a Risu Y70 Isekai'n cars in UTS I'm all in.
I built in a Y60 this year for my brother. I really want this for my next build if I can find a way to get the next Threadripper Pro in there.
Thank you Jay what an amazing case. I just found my case for my AM6 build
I modified my Y60 in every conceivable way. They addressed all the issues except for one. Which is My guess for the new additional mod that they are working on. A riser for the top to accommodate room for a push pull fan configuration on the AIO. I had to have mine 3D printed.
I have the Y40, and overall have been very impressed with it. Thermals are not as amazing as a fully mesh case, but I can't really complain given how sleek it looks. The only small annoyance is any PCI-E expansion requires a half height card. While it's not a huge problem for 70% of gamers, it was a mild inconvenience getting all my sim racing gear hooked up.
Haven’t watched a vid in 2 months it’s been crazy. Missed watching you guys!
Stream Deck integration with the touch panel would be off-the-charts awesome, even with just four tiles at the bottom like the mini.
What a great idea, thank you Hyte.
I almost went with a y60 for my current build. I'm really liking this case for my eventual build in a year or two.
"Touch... Sweet touch. You've almost convinced me I'm real" is a lyric from the INCREDIBLE song Touch by Daft Punk
The black and red one, looks awesome!
Awesome kit
I am looking to build my next PC in this case. I love this one. I have been looking at the red one for something different than black or white.
That Daft punk reference... Almost makes me want to cancel the O11D Evo XL I ordered
i always thought it would be super cool to have a display built into the case. imagine if the whole side panel was a 16:9 display. would have been dope back in the lanparty days
That panel, would actually be super useful for any build without being part of a case.
Just, a little touch screen display to put under the centre monitor. Or even attach on the side of a monitor.
That touch panel is awesome!
Jay, I love that I just finished my Y-60 build and this comes out no more than 1 week later. Lol. It's already time to upgrade. 😂
Can't wait for mine to get to my house! I am glad that the y60 was out of stock last year when I built my latest PC because this model is far better.
This looks dope as hell. I would love to build in this case
I only built my current PC in the Y60 back in May and did the LCD panel in it. That extra gap for airflow might legit be the reason why I already change up the case.
Love you guys,!
I'm late but this is the 2nd vid I've seen on this case. I'm buying the y60 and buying the screen later on. At first I wanted it for the looks but it's features and functions make it a 10/10 product for me
Yup that’s a good looking build right there
One of the most fun unboxings I've seen!! This case is awesome!
Noice!
I just hope there is (or will be) a mirrored version... so for the left side of the table?
In this Case i will order both ...
I loved the y60, but a lot of little things made me switch to Lian Li Lancool 216. Much better temps and I have full sized expansion slots. Gave my wife the more expensive case since she only has to cool a 9700k and a 5700XT.
I'm in love with this case
I always enjoy listening to Jay's Two Cents, worth every penny.
Can’t wait to get mine! It looks awesome!
A few things/corrections.
1.) Seeing Jay getting zapped is always funny. Reminds me of the good ol days. 😂😂😂
2.) You mistakenly called the side of the case the front. Wrong. The front of the case is the small window, the side of the case is the big window.
3.) Hyte, you really need to spell check your software. So many spelling errors. IFTT is missing a T, Twitch is misspelled as well.
A few missed opportunities with this case and due to those I will be sticking with my far superior Lian Li EVO XL case. If Hyte can decide to be a SERIOUS contender to Lian Li…..maybe I might consider working with their brand.
Ih Jay it's a very nice case I will be very impressed if we get it here in the UK I ordered the Y60 paid for it up front and never had it after wating over 6 months
