I think the empire could have tracked the rebels very quickly, all they had to do was see who buys about 1million liters of red paint and follow
😂
Seriously good idea
I wish the they did more with the CIS after the clone wars, I would like to see Separatist’s holdouts battle the Empire, seeing CIS fleets doing hit and run attacks on the empire in the outer rim or even worlds turning in to droid fortress worlds, where CIS commanders keep building droid armies waiting for the Empire to invade. Just feel like there could be some interesting stories there, plus we get to keep the CIS around longer!
Yeah,Supposedly the IGBC had outposts in other galaxies,Where they built up their massive fleet.
They should have been able to rebuild a Army and navy to go up against the empire.
this would be an interesting topic for Bad Batch, maybe we see something like that in the third season
Having a Star Destroyer with a droid-brain would be interesting
Hehe
Especially of a droid tri fighter or a IG-88
iva barai i was thinking something much more advanced
Super tactical droid?
One of the cis ships actually was controlled by a droid brain but it would crash a lot
The bracca scrapper guild took most of the ships and repurposed the metal into (order of military) imperial, new republic, first order, and resistance ships
Imagine to have a Droid command ship, a ship like the Invisible Hand, or at least a Frigatte with your own reprogramed droid army.
Really cool way to travel across the galaxy
I was thinking about this but reprogram these droids to fight for the rebellion
@@izfroggzy8796 It can be an option, in the Clone Wars series, the Republic used reprogramed droids for special operations

The Empire probably wanted to keep the use of older, "other" tech to a minimum. The Empire was here to stay, a new order that changed everything. Anything that wasn't purely Imperial was meant to be portrayed as primitive and obsolete.

#AskEck Why did the Empire spend so much time and money training pilots when on average they survived less than a year after graduation? Did they survive longer in Legends?
Legend explanation was that they were prepared to fight with Vongs which weapon basically ignored shields anyway. In the canon, TIE/Ln were basically dated and mass produced slightly after Clone Wars, when shields were still uncommon. Death Star largely delayed introduction of new generation of fighters like Thrawn TIE Defender or Vader TIE Avenger.
The_RyujinLP I agree with your opinion, except the part about the space battles. Rebel fighters were clearly superior to TIE’s, but they at least had numbers. Which brings up Silent Drew’s question.
And the Battle of Yavin was like fishing in a barrel.
@@HispAnakin42 As I explained before TIE/ln were old common fighters, when quite unusually Rebellion get some number of next gen experimental fighters. Using analogy it is like F16 vs F22. But Empire actually have superior fighters like TIE/D and TIE/ad (plus Lancers), just they weren't as widespread and Rebellion deliberately pick easy targets. It was coincidence that neither was present during battle of Endor (instead we have Black Squadron TIE/ln what actually have jump-drive and shields, plus faster TIE/In). My guess is that Empire overvalue its strength and wasn't expecting attack, especially due to presence of Executor Star Dreadnought.
Master Kenobi I disagree with the notion the TIE was inferior to the Xwing the TIE lacked any real shielding I suspect the reason for this design was George Lucas being a fan of WW2 aviation wanted to model the design philosophy of the TIE to the A6m Zero I would surmise that if the TIEs where deployed in a numerically superior battle with experienced fighter pilots they would obliterate the Xwings for the simple fact that it’s more of a heavy fighter like the real world P47 or IL2 it can’t turn and burn like the TIE if it could then the Rebel Alliance would not have adopted the Awing.
jerry dickerson I like your analogy. Especially because America learns how counter zeros later in the war, like the rebels.
One of things legends did well in my opinion was make the galaxy seem large and nearly endless.
The prequels did largely the same thing as well which is why I like them warts and all. I imagine film technology at the time is the primary thing that made the original trilogy feel like two small factions fighting over a small handful of planets instead of a large scale galactic war. It's a shame Disney/Abrams didn't take the OT aesthetic but expand upon the scope of the galaxy like the PT had. It made TFA feel small and insignificant (can't speak to the other two as I never watched them).

I think that since living beings generate some living force power, then living soldiers suffering in war would generate power for the Dark side.
interesting
thats not how the dark side works. though.
It also doesnt matter all that much since Palpatine is just crazy powerful by himself no matter what the different sides look like
It is mentioned in the Novel Tarkin that most of the Providence Class of CIS ships were scrapped (or supposed to be scrapped) but parts of them were sold on the black market and a Frankenstein carrier of some sort (combining parts of a Providence, Lurkurhulk and Banking Clan Frigate) attacked Tarkin's supply base before it was captured. So it's somewhat covered in the new canon too.
A very interesting video. I was under the impression that the Empire would've scrapped all the CIS droids and ships they'd captured, melted them down and turned them into star destroyers and paperclips.
But, using Lucrehulks as a self sufficient flight training school is a very inventive use for them and it provides many advantages over a permanent ground based structure.
Judging from K-2SO Imperial droids were far superior intellectually to CIS droids (okay he was reprogrammed).
But what if a Moff on the Outer Rim didn't go anti droid and used them in far greater numbers and in more "traditionally organic" roles?
Idk smells like fanfic to me lmao but yeah you got a point it don't make sense that hardly if anybody didn't try to capitalize on it. Like it wasn't hard to find some old droids they was everywhere even after the war ended. Look at people like Tyber Zaan he used them to good effect.
I just want to thank you eck for your consistent high quality content. I am always looking forward to your content. Thank you for doing what you do.
This video kind of reminds me of Empire at War, and specifically Thrawns Revenge. I like the idea of repurposing old ships and using specialised ships to enhance your fleet. In TR it gives you a lot of choice to build the empire any way you like. I really enjoy mixing and matching fleet composition, for example, incorporating Venators into my fleets for extra carrying capacity.
Anyway, that’s just my thought process during the video, hope you don’t mind the semi random comment
It's always interesting that we come back again and again to the shortcomings of the Imperial Armed forces created by Palpatine's ego, and their reliance on sheer numbers and Mass plus terror to overcome them.
Tarkin seems to have been a bit of a one string guitar.

It was such a mistake for the Empire to not use Venators in the main navy.

@Wicket yes but if ya wanted too get rid of that image simply add on extra armor or something like just plain aesthetic metal plates too make it look diffrent from the standard venator and change the ships name
@@SasoriZert Yeah, I mean, the Venator even looked like a prototype Star Destroyer. If they wanted a different image, then why design Star Destroyers and Victories to look very similar. :D

Maybe you can do a piece on how many Rebel Alliance squadrons are out there? Especially with Squadrons the game coming out. Canon and Legend maybe. It always seemed to me as a kid in the 1980's that it was just Red, Green, Gold...but I guess those are more battle designations that can be used for any squadron. I am curious to hear your view on it.

Great vid Eckhart, I like the idea of Rebel Lucrehulks and C-9979 landers.
Liked and enjoyed watching this, another one of my favs SO FAR!!!
Hmm… What other Clone Wars era ships would/should Thrawn have used? _[along with any post Endor imperials or just a outer rim Moff who had less oversight]._
They are spoiled for choice really, as the only thing the standard Imperial loadout brings is a _heavy hitter captial ship_ that would be the perfect compliment to a Venator (it's one weakness being slugging matches with other captial ships).
So assign a Venator to escort every ISD and that's a one two punch that covers all bases. And the Venator actually synergises better with the cheap/plentiful concept of the Tie Fighter.
There are various corvettes and particularly CIS frigates that could be useful, but nothing outstanding except for better anti fighter defences, and there are some Imperial ships that can do the same… if they are ever produced in enough numbers!!
ARC-170's would be useful for doing recon patrols of low priority systems, but might be mistaken for X-Wings.
Although if there's a spare Malevolence lying around - grab it!
Just give it a escort this time.
Biggest priorities would be anything they have the means to maintain and anything with a high amount of automation. The two biggest problems for the Empire post-endor were lack of materiel and personnel
I've bought from Vite twice now. There are some shortcomings but overall I'm happy with the product and thinks it delivers at its price point. Soy chicken is the best of the three lol.
I’d love to know if the Empire used any Republic or CIS weapons after the War
The e 11 stormtrooper rifle is the next step up from the clones dc 17.
Ties are like parts from fighters
In star wars fallen order the troopers use the same blaster rifles as the clones but other than that idk
Venators were used for quite a while, sometimes in battles alongside Imperial class Star Destroyers, before Tie Fighters became widespread, Imperial Star Destroyers carried V wings and on the ground, AT-RT continued service.
Thanks to Empire at War, I do love the Aclamator

I always felt that a lucrehulk or two would have been a great base of operation for the rebel alliance.
Park them in a deadspace between systems, or outside the galaxy (such as the spot we see the rebel fleet at the end Empire Strikes Back,) and use their massive fleet of GR-75s to ferry supplies and personel to hubs to be transfered to larger freighters to be hauled to the lucrehulks. The lucrehulks were large enough to house troops, supplies, rebel HQ and even manufacturing facilities for many things, up to and including starfighters
Could you do a video on a “What if” scenario? What if there was no battle of Scarif so the Rebels did not know about the Death Star’s weakness and the Imperial's did not know the location of the Rebel base. The Emperor orders Mon Cala to be the first planet destroyed. What would this battle between the Death Star and the Mon Calamari fleets aided by the Rebellion look like?
The second Death Star had Mon Calamari and Chandrilla as first targets lined up. But at that point with the first Death Star I don't think Mon Calamari considered a big player with the rebellion yet.
I love the outro
This kind of continuity of technology is one of the things I like the most about Star wars
Following up on the distane held for CIS tech, Vulture droids were written off and mostly scrapped for parts.
An enjoyable entry demonstration from Thrawn's Novel of how effective these still were in the Empires era was felt in full force when several hundred reprocessed Vultures actually disabled an Admirals cruiser, taking it out if service for several months for repair because he proudly overlooked the then Commander Thrawn's warning about some "obsolete tech"
It was likely this demonstration of combined firepower that drove Thrawn's desire for the TIE Defender project over the singular large entity that was to become the Death Star
Another great video. Also, just saying, the AT-AT was actually a Republic walker. Several were present at the Battle of Jabiim.
I bought some Vite after the last sponsored video. It’s even better than I hoped for.
That random ass little Fusion dance that happened in the background of the Vite Ramen commercial absolutely killed me
If your still doing Star Wars versus videos, I would like to pitch The Resistance Raddus vs The CIS Invisible Hand.
Love this channel. No joke
I remember reading in the New Essential Guide to Droids that the Empire was still fielding DSD1 Dwarf Spider Droids after the war, as a supplemental, ground-level heavy weapons platform in situations where an AT-ST or similar wouldn't have been practical. Even after the Armistice, DSD1s were still employed by the Imperial Remnant, albeit in a more fixed role, operating at Imperial checkpoints alongside Remnant Stormtroopers.
I honestly wish we could've seen that in Rogue One, cool as the AT-St showing up in Jedha City was. I also wish we had more examples of actually effective CIS weapons being deployed by the Empire or the Alliance, because some of their kit was really cool.
I don't know why they would ever get rid of the Turbo assault tank.
I love how u always do that w ur dog at the end
It's the same clip the entire time and I am 99% sure that's not his dog
Could the Victory class have been planned for the post Republic era?
Palpatine had a timeline plan and he may have already had ship concepts in mind, it's in production just in time for the rise of the Empire.
I would re-use Lucrehulks for things like bases. Connect two or three Lucrehulks at the rear and you get an instant orbital star port.
Or land one on a moon or planet, cover parts of it with dirt for added protection, move belly armaments to the surface. Instant fortress / fighter base.
Same can be done with old Venators.
Acclamators were actually fairly heavily used during the Empire’s reign, as far as Empire at War is concerned. Not really as a troop landing ship (besides it’s not very efficient or safe to land the entire ship on a planet when you can just launch a bunch of smaller dropships from orbit), but as a sort of light battleship with its relatively heavy armament. There were a lot of them left over from the Clone Wars and, unlike the Venator, they didn’t have any particularly glaring weaknesses that would’ve made them obsolete. So it would’ve made sense to keep them around as frigates that could quickly respond to threats when needed.
The Venators, meanwhile, were legitimately becoming obsolete. Their dorsal hangar with its slow-opening doors made their interiors very vulnerable, and their guns were primarily designed to handle starfighters, not capital ships. So it made more sense to simply break them down for parts with which to build more modern warships.
Why don't we see the Subjugator Class "Heavy Cruiser" used much after the Malevolence? #AskEck
Too costly to make. The Malevolence was a great ship but it was destroyed rather quickly. The money was instead focused on the construction of fleets to counter the Republic.
The Malevolence did have a sister ship though, the Devastation I think?
@@StarGazer2gaming That's the thing though, I've heard that they had more Subjugators, including that one of course the Subjugator itself.
It sucks, and the Empire didn't care for CIS tech, unless used for target practice.

In Canon we know from other stories that not all the Venators were retired and scrapped like the ones on Bracca and the model actually served the Empire for many years after the Clone Wars ended, ARC-170 and V-wings along with other Republic era platforms also served for a while. We know that the Empire often scrapped the Separatist ships and other equipment they captured on Bracca and other worlds but occasionally ships like the Providence and Lucrehulk ended up with rebel groups. When the droid army was deactivated it was probably like Christmas for arms dealers with the assorted CIS equipment we see used by rebel and criminal groups

Who would win? #StarshipVersus #AskEck
The Empire was in a hurry to dispose of most of the Venators because they were symbols of the Republic it replaced, but they're using Arquitens as light cruisers in Rebels and the upcoming Squadrons game. The only canon book which portrays the V-wing extensively in Imperial service is Lords of the Sith, with small mentions in Thrawn and Tarkin. They use CIS Gozantis as AT-AT carriers and patrol ships in Rebels and the Hoth map of Battlefront II (2017).
I use these ships as defense stations in my friends rpg game because of the ships size (as a makeshift starport/space station if you remove alot of military components/personnel), a defense platform once again size and it's fighter compliment is normally well above a thousand, supply transports, medical stations/ships, take the core ship and I had attached bigger squid arms from the breachers used in the battle of Kamino for ship boarding like ancient sea monsters loaded with ion canons, I even have a design that's does nothing but give shields to other vessels in a fleet I can't remember how something to do with tractor beam assemblies and extra sheild banks. Most of this come from wizards of the coast rpg books like starships of the Galaxy ect. Needless to say before I knew it I made this ship the backbone of my faction.
I think the Juggurnauts(sp?) would have been a good choice for the imperial invasion of Hoth. The wheels are big enough to not really have to worry about snow, and most of it was pretty heavily packed down anyway. Could have carried snow troopers that could disembark easier than coming down from an ATAT (or if the ATAT has to kneel or something to disembark troops - I can't remember. either way would be easier from the Juggurnaut, sorry about the spelling of it)
There was also a lukrehulk used by the rebellion in canon that acted as a base/flight school which was run by hera syndulla
00:59
Dang I gotta try that new flavor.
Something I always found kinda funny was one the empire was established, like, the next day every ship and rank has its red paint removed immediately, I wonder who got stuck with that job
I recall somewhere that the AAT repulsortank saw limited use with the Imperial Army, as it can be operated by organics fairly easily. I'd guess they were only used by rear echelon or reserve units.
Shh, it is like the soviet army in WW2 they used tons of American weapons and equipment they just rarely show up in the propaganda tapes. Might be the same with the Imps.

In Legends, the AT-AT walker was introduced during the Clone Wars.
Well. I always wondered what happened to the Trade Federation main ships. I liked many aspects of these oversized mobile platforms, and though they have many flaws, were underutilized. If I could get myself one of these.. I'd make many modifications ...including many cloaking devices -(independently powered), plus better shield emplacements -(primarily indoors -& particularly protecting the main reactors..as-well-as the secondary ones), while indulgently turning it into my very personal residence. Even making a dramatic ecosystem in it, several levels thick-high-deep ..or how ever you like to say it.
I think the ships the Empire used to police smaller, less important systems are fascinating. I love the ISD as much as the next guy but you gotta admit, ships like the Arquitens and Gozanti have a certain charm to them. I loved seeing these ships in action in rebels and getting a good look at how the Empire used their smaller vessels.
It would be nice to explore those ships. The entire ship interior and exterior no barriers or certain areas blocked.
An ad that wasnt horrible? I think i found a good channel
In canon (Aphra Comics) Rebels did use at least one Lucrehulk, Lucrehulk Prime, as a flight school headed by Hera Syndulla.
A Lukerhulk makes sence as a full naval academy, for all departments.
Executive branch operating the vessel and smaller vessels (CR90, C70 etc) with the hulk as a tender.
Engineering branch maintaiming it
Aviation branch maintaing and operating strike craft.
In the novel Tarkin, he mentioned, he was happy, the Star Destroyer was still equipped with V Wings instead of the new Tie Fighter. Because Tarkin needed to fly a fighter himself lol.

Imagine how badass an Imperial fleet of Munificent Class frigates would be...
Imagine a carrier battle group using a Providence class dreadnought and some escorts being used by the Rebellion
What is the source of that video starting around 8:46, the battle between the Mon Calamari vessel and some brand of imperial vessel? Never seen that before and would like to find it.
I keep thinking the Lucherhulk would make a good trading outpost. You know, the hive of scum and villainy where you could buy or sell just about anything. And if you catch wind that the Imps are coming, you just move it.
Yes, but it's expensive to maintain.
@@bigwitt187 is it? they're literally just cargo ships retrofitted for combat, so you'd think their operating costs would be low. Consider their manufacturers obsession with profit. they're large, but I doubt they have alot of advanced technology, and they have weak engines and stuff for their size so its not like those would require alot of... I dont know, fuel or whatever. They also are mostly automated, since they use droids so heavily, so its not like you need a large human crew.

The United Earth Alliance Omega Class Destroyer *(Babylon 5)* vs the UNSC Marathon-Class Heavy Cruiser *(Halo).*
That's actually a pretty good match up, since they are pretty close technologically
What I'd like to know is did any rebels use droids alongside their own forces, not counting the Rebels tv show?
There are at least three examples of rebel factions using Vulture droids against the Empire, a rebel cell led by a former Republic spy called Berch Teller used them alongside Droid Tri Fighters from a modified a modified Providence class dreadnought in the novel Tarkin, Cham Syndulla's resistance movement also used Vulture droids along with Droid Tri Fighters and managed to overwhelm and eventually destroy an Imperial Star Destroyer that was tasked with ferrying the Emperor and Darth Vader for a state visit to Ryloth and over Umbara a rebel group led by a former smuggler called Nightswan attacked an Imperial task force which Thrawn was a part of that included a Star Destroyer, an Arquitens captained by Thrawn and two Raider corvettes using Vulture droids. The Alliance to Restore the Republic had Hailfire Droids in their army.
I would love to have a Lucrehulk and turn it into a mobile X-Wing Assembly ship for the Alliance. And expand its living quarter capacity and even add a small market/Shopping mall inside the huge cargo bays.
