- Taking the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime out on a drive to test out DRCC or Dynamic Radar, Cruise Control and LTA or Lane Tracing Assist. Basically I show you both features and how they work in real driving conditions to answer the question: Is the Prius Prime self driving

Anyone talking about FSD knows what that is, because they know Tesla. This however doesn’t talk about street driving / perception / parked cars / difficulty with driving around ppl. It didn’t even talk about changing lanes on highways… basically nothing to do with FSD.
I’ve experienced FSD in a Tesla and this video wasn’t about FSD.
Watching this makes me even more nervous about FSD czcams.com/video/9nF0K2nJ7N8/video.htmlsi=gfCPvNxZYW9zh4_2
@@MarkCeeee it’s irrelevant now. We have v12 now and it’s apparently much better
@@XeonSX it will only improve though will be hard for some to trust and not want to take control of the wheel.
@@MarkCeeee we’ve been saying that for the past 5 years at least… and it has but not nearly as much as I was hoping.
Thank you! Will this work on a toyota sienna 2022 limited?
You’re most welcome and not familiar with the sienna but one way to check is to see if it has the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 package
Does the car only recognise white (and in the US yellow) lines or does it also ‘see’ kerbs and verges. Here in the UK even major roads often don’t have painted lines on the side of the road.
It recognizes a variety of obstacles like walls and curves, as well as, other vehicles using the radar system.
If you don't already know, there is also a lane change assist. It will do lane changes by itself. Takes a little bit of learning. I have the same car :)
Familiar with LKA and don’t like it as it was acting erratically and throwing me off steering when it shouldn’t. I have it turned off now.
Asked and he delivered 😂
Yeah wanted to see to see if messed up getting a 2022 gen4 over a 2023 or 2024 Gen5 so my Comma 3 would be compatible. I did not.
TSS 3.0 is still super cool, and sure that horsepower you got is nice when needed.
Thank you, have a good one!
Thanks so much for watching and glad to make this one as it was interesting to see how it actually operates.
Is the steering wheel capacitive all you need to do is to touch it or you have to move it slightly and put some weight on it?🤔
Just have to touch it, didn’t have to move it.
@@MarkCeeeethanks! I did a little research, it seems like on higher trim level it has capacitive steering wheel but on lower trim you still have to put weight on the steering wheel
The base model i was in lasted 10 secs before beeping at me
so lane keep assist and smart cruise control?
Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) and lane markers are detected, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
Appears identical to the Honda Sensing Suite in my '24 Civic Si. Adaptive cruise, lane-keep assist, etc.
That's nice but only assist cars should have is the cruise control with distance adjustment in case the car in front slows down. Hands should be always on the wheel.
My 2017 Escape has these features
It is NOT unless you count staying between the lines, braking when necessary, and slowing down on curves for 30 seconds or so self driving.
And keeping your hand on the wheel so it doesn’t beep at you when it intermittently says it’s not available.
I don't know that I would ever trust something that didn't have a "brain" and could understand it's surroundings.. like FSD
