    Symphony X are amazing. The energy of their live shows is incredible. I will never forget seeing Michael Romeo come on stage with a bandaged hand. Half way through the show the bandage came off but he kept playing while blood was dripping all over his guitar. Could there be anything more metal or more epic than that?!?

    This was my first song by them that I heard when I was trying to find new and interesting prog metal back in the late 90's when all my hero like Rush, Yes, and Genesis, had gone to a more rock/pop sound. Maybe for you're next reaction of Symphony X do one of their more epic pieces like Through the looking glass.

    One of my favourite bands. I believe the first tracks I heard were 'Fallen' and 'The Odyssey', the latter of which is, of course, epic in every sense, and is now my all-time favourite song. They were also the first proper band I saw live, back in London in 2019, and I was delighted that their encore for that tour was their glorious 24-minute epic!

    Thank you for playing my favorite SymX song! It doesn't get played or exposed enough. Russell Allen gets to show his versatility that he doesn't show on their heavier stuff. There is something about guitarist who are great, not showing they can play a million notes a minute, but can work a slower pace and show brilliance! Romeo, Gilmore, Petrucci to name a few. Love the spaciousness of this tune. Thank you for this choice. Cheers!

    Loved it, Symphony X is the only band in the world that can make you cry, especially this song, When All is Lost and To Hell and Back. Of course there is more but these last 3 albums have had such an amazing sound, and there are so many layers in every song it's just perfect, Symphony X is perfect. I like to repeat myself for a thousandth time : there is no best in music, it's all a question of taste. I, for example, could say, Dream Theater is better than Symphony X. So, one is your taste, the other mine. And I could name automatically a whole bunch of metal bands, which I like better than Symphony X for several reasons ... but they are at least Top 20 :-)

    • @TwiGGSTicK
      @TwiGGSTicK Před 2 lety

      @@rudolfbecker4313 bro I get what you mean but what I mean is Symphony X shouldn't even be my best band ever. I'm a thrash metal maniac, Forbidden, Toxik, Annihilator etc some of my favourites. But symphony x is just in another league of music if you ask me

    • @rudolfbecker4313
      @rudolfbecker4313 Před 2 lety

      @@TwiGGSTicK ok, I understand ... I'm always reacting "allergic", when someone uses the word "best" for something, which you can't measure :-) It's similar, when my son once came home, telling me that the friend x had said: my father knows everything ... and I said to my son: Tim, no human being knows everything :-) So, when you look for something better, what exactly are you looking for ? I think, the best way to find out, is, listen to as much music as possible and find out, what the music does to your body. I used to like the adrenalin in my body, when I listened to Rush or Maiden at max volume, when I was young. Later the mastership in some Dream Theater songs gave me chills. Nowadays i react mostly to voices and since I listen to a lot of prog, I discovered 2 years ago Mostly autumn, with a female singer, with an angelic voice and the look of Lorelei. Would you react to something like this too? Or are you still in your heavy phase ? And not ready yet to widen your music field? PS: does the NL in your name mean, you live in the Netherlands? Then we are neighbours, I live 50 Km from the border :-)
