Drawn from the gangs of C'thonia, the aggressive sons of the Warmaster would earn boudnless glories during the Great Crusade for their unimpeachable deeds and valour in battle.
Yet with Horus Lupercal#s betrayal of the Imperium, the former Luna Wolves of Terra would follow their genefather's path of damnation until their eventual decline...

Does anyone knows why they change colors from white to green. (I prefered the white version)
Their heraldry changed when Horus was named Warmaster and changed their names to the Sons of Horus.
@@TheRemembrancer Yes, I heard that it was the reason before but why the sea green color in particular is their any reason like for the dark angels.
I believe it was in honor of their victory against the ork hordes though that may just be conjecture

A poor leader to a once great legion.
Space marines were flawless for many years, The armours, vehicles, codes, interactions, ethics. Heavily expressed upon in 30k, expanded in 40k. though 41k remains the same 40k at core, the lore has abruptly been changed into something that changes a lot and very little at the same time. Primaris are a little bit improved space marines. There is new armour, some new vehicles, so the looks have been upgraded. With adaptations on old models to generate new models. Like new types of dreadnoughts, jump assault, etc. So lore wise, there is a lot of change and yet, visually, there is no real change. Though primaris look different, they are hugely similar which is great, but it would be better if they also sported a lot of new, well thought out vehicles and technologies. New weapons for new sorts of tactical squads, heavy weapon squads. Something that upgrades the space marines on all accounts, Instead of plasma cannons, there could be "Hyper-ion cannon." in the mix, which is a lot better than your usual gear, and deals a lot of damage to older units but not newer units. And thus chaos space marines would upgrade as well. There should be lore, stories and art for new tyrannid lifeforms encountered in the 4th tyrannic war, things never seen before. Hierophant forms that look completely different, for example, and so on. Just to spice up the lore and have varieties for the same type of unit/model. so armies look more unique. Anyways, Equipped with new, stronger technologies, the imperium is weaponized enough to beat back the tyranids.

Sons of Horus are Marines Archetypal. They have the same sense as the US Marines. There are other Elites. Maybe even better. SEALs are more covert. There are other comparable levels in other branches. But if you are looking for the best soldier to soldier, for general types of combat, those are the ones. So were the Luna Wolves. The other Legions have their specialities. I think Dark Angels are like SEALs if they formed an entire branch. The Imperial Fists are something like Army. 😅
I don't think the reasoning for the Horus Heresy is very good. If Horus were to find out that Big E planned on annihilating the Space Marines like he did to the Thunder Warriors would have been a justification. I can understand choosing to stand with your sons over loyalty to your father. It would also match up with Big E's general disregard for his creations. Such as the rebuke of the Word Bearers and the abandonment of Angron's gladiator army.
At that point he had no idea about the Thunder Warriors, so it would have been hard for the Chaos Gods to convince him of the truth behind their demise. He was an egotist at heart, however; they knew that the _one_ thing that Horus wanted more so than anything in the galaxy was to be _remembered,_ to have a legacy. So they showed him a future where he has none of those things, and told him that it was the Emperors fault, helpfully omitting the fact that _he_ was the true reason behind his legions expulsion.

Read “Horus rising” put the entire chapter into a new light for me. Was pretty crazy seeing them all pre turn. And knowing what they did after becoming chaotic it puts depth into the story for sure
