      It's not a defence, it's an explanation of why he does what he does. He's not saying others are wrong or hating, just that people do things differently. I think it's better that way.

    I came here looking to better my squeeging technique, since i am trying to learn how to wrap. I do body work and i found myself trying to squeegee the vinyl as if i was spreading bondo and that was not working for me lol. Thanks for this helpful video.

    Looks like some people already said that "you don't have to explain yourself and your techniques". It's obvious that you know what you are doing and you have a passion for it. Sad thing is that the people complaining aren't going to change their minds. Some people complain about anything. The technique works well for you.

    Very interesting, you mentioned glossing the film out and so there's tension on the film. And you said if you don't you could get into trouble, and I do agree. However if two people working together spread the vinyl consistently, they can install quite efficiently!

The only thing I just thought I’d mention about the air compressor, depending on the climate, but I’d recommend a good water trap in the system. In some cases people might get contaminated air. Anyway don’t want to nit pick, I just thought it was worth mentioning. Thank you for all your advice.

    Christian, I think it was me who was talking about the 'unnecessary stretch' by glassing the whole panel.
    I was talking about wrapping a door. Fender is a different ballgame when it comes to glass :) I wrap a fender just like you do.

    • @CKWraps
      @CKWraps  Před 7 lety +3

      +TopWrapz I think you're right. The reason why I like to show gassing the door is that the door isn't usually as flat as most people think. If they glass it out they can eliminate wrinkles starting to build on the bottom by reducing the slack.

    Great video! I just started using vinyl wrap to protect edges on the inside of my car doors. People getting in and out were scuffing their shoes and chipping the paint. Just curious though - are there many people who wrap the entire front end of their vehicle? Why would you do this? I can see maybe if your paint was all scratched and you wanted the vehicle to look new again. Just curious!

    • @JJ_ExMachina
      @JJ_ExMachina Před 6 lety

      Many people wrap their new vehicles in clear protection wrap, which is a thick tough clear vinyl. It protect the factory pant from rock chips and damage from bugs and what not. Much cheaper to do a clear protection film every 3 - 5 years then it would be to have to paint a car.
      Now if you are asking about colored wrap... well that is to add a bit of custom color to the car with out it being permanent like a full paint job. PLUS a full wrap is far cheaper then a full paint job.

    I need pro advice! good videos too! I want to wrap my van, the paint is in rough shape and I don't want to spend a fortune on it. The main reason I want to wrap is for my business advertisement. Since the paint is peeling I was gonna heavily pressure wash it to get most of the loose flakes off and also sand it with a low grit sand paper on an orbital sander. Please let me know what you think of my plan I was also planning to use carbon fibre vinyl as it has texture as you may see less imperfections? thanks again!

    • @CKWraps
      @CKWraps  Před 7 lety

    • @Richard97402
      @Richard97402 Před 5 lety

      Cheap Ebay wrap, is just that.... CHEAP. Cheap and inexpensive are VERY different. Most of the wrap on Ebay is inexpensive, because it is cheap. If you buy a quality film, then a quality result is more likely. Vvivid, Avery, Oracle, and 3M are great options. I personally don't care for 3M, but many people swear by it. A quality film is going to stretch better, it is going to accept heat better, when it comes time to remove, it will remove much cleaner, etc. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. When you get a 50 foot roll of film for $100 it isn't going to end well.
