More towns need clubs
As a boxer myself there is no better sport for turning a boy into a man
It humbled me. Spoiled rude kid turned into a man. I have more to learn In life without a doubt and still have to be humbled with my anger towards disappointment. Sure is a humbling sport turns boys into grown men
Yes I completely agree with you which is why I am getting into it however they are people saying that traditional martial arts like karate and judo are better but I rather go with boxing
Excellent video, an all time classic AK!
I’m 55 and I got so fit last year whilst away from home training at Merstham boxing club. 5 days a week. Best condition of my life, just training like a boxer. No fighting or sparring. Discipline in training and eating. You body will respond. Even at 55.
This really looks like a place with good atmposhere and good coaches.
Hrvoje Pečarić it is!!!
In 6 months or so since this documentary was filmed the Islington Boxing Club has changed so much for the better. If anybody was to pay a visit to the gym now you would not think that this is the same gym as featured in the video. Recently it has had an extension put in place in the downstairs gym and the club has been painted/decorated in the club colours of red & white. This is only the start from Team Islington, more is to come!!!!
Great club.
I have joined this club and it’s so FUN though sometimes challenging...I got a trophy on my FIRST DAY HERE! It was so cool and really helped!
I boxed for Islington boys around 1982/84....that's wen the club was behind the lady Owens pub....
Ronnie Goddard was one of the trainers...
I suffered from bullying at school and where I lived.
within six month I was knocking the bully's out...in a skilled and disciplined way..ha.ha
Great video mate.

@kickboxingchampions9 yeah it was Courtney Fry who use to box at Islington, won a few national championships there & went onto box internationally for England & won a Commonwealth Gold Medal in 1998 & represented Great Britain in the Olympics in 2000.
I could never do a group boxing thing I can only do one on one.

Lets Talk Boxing never too late to do what makes you happy dude. you want it, go get it. hope you do
Totally agree! It's never to late, only if you let it be
Woah we got the same name haha
Let's Talk Boxing hahaa
Always one who talks rubbish and does not know a thing about boxing! We got boxers who have represented in the commonwealth games and we have ABA champions in the gym. We got boxers who represented england many times, the list can go on and on! From your statement it shows you dont have a clue about boxing or boxing gyms, think before you speak!
