Saw it the first time when I was a kid (I never forgot it), and now as an adult. Norwegian TV has began to show it at christmas time (again). Have seen the russian version for sale at Amazon (rare), but haven't seen the english version. Luckily, I have recorded it for safe keeping, just in case... Remember, the versions is filmed seperately.
It's the Internet Movie Database. Search for IMDB on google then click on first link in the search result. When you're on the IMDB website, search for MA-MA or Rock'n Roll Wolf. There you will find the IMDB listing for the movie.
The quality of the english which is spoken and sung is suspiciously good for eastern europeans. I wonder if the movie has been dubbed by english actors and singers.

I watched this when I was in high school and I didn't really get what's this about. Now I know, I wonder why they didn't even tell us that this was Russian Musical..tsk.tsk..tsk
I checked the trivia and comments page for the movie on IMDB and they filmed the english, russian and romanian version separately. So each of the language versions are really a movie on their own. So I guess the russian actors spoke and sung in their bad english. Then it was dubbed by english actors and singers afterwards. According the ending text on the english version, the recording of the english version was made in Studio Trident, London. Beatles used that studio in the 60s.
About 30 years ago it was the first time I ever saw Rock & Roll Wolf. I was very impressed by the music. And what is it? A film, a musical, an ice-dance show? Can please someone tell me if there is a DVD?
