The Pico 4 is probably the best PCVR solution on a budget. I've used the Rift S, HP G2, and the Quest 2. The Pico beats them all on latency, image quality, and reliability.
Is there a solution for the audio? It's one of the only things holding me back. I'm between this and the G2
@@ssjbargainsale I'd go Pico. Way better lenses (I tried both) and far more flexible. The audio from the Pico is better than you might think
not true puting on decent headphones is night and day difference
Hi, one of the best things about the Pico4 is to use it as a PCVR device (with Virtual Desktop). It outperforms the Quest2 and many more expensive headsets. But I do like the games that came with it and I don't have the feeling that the library is so bad. I remember how the Quest 2 library was when they started... I can only say that already the Pico4 library is better than the Quest's was in their first year. But anyway..... I use it mainly for PCVR.... that does it great.
@@hybrisnemesis1147 First of all the library. The Quest2 came with far less games to the market than the Pico4.
Software has already several updates and is better than the Quest software when it was as old as the Pico4 is now.
Virtual Desktop works perfect and no legging. Your issue with legging is most likely because you use either a slow router, have a low key GPU or use the wrong hardware. I have both Quest 2 and Pico4 and for me it is the preferred device to play games with. Though I prefer the Quest 2 controllers.
The library of games is definitely lacking even now, but performance wise it's no slouch against the Quest. The most current Streaming Assistant (which I had to download from a third party, along with the firmware update for the Pico 4...) works with virtually no lag between PC and Pico when used to play PCVR, of course I have a Wifi 6 capable router but how it just worked outside the box without further tinkering is really good.

I find these videos on the vr headsets so interesting, you are really good at explaining things and as one of the many people who has recently bought a quest, you have been really helpful in my understanding and setting up of the quest :)

The eye spacer from the lense is good so if it brakes you can just buy a new one and then just put the new one close and boom it is connected
I would say pico4 is better as a pcvr device than standalone, those 2160p lenses are just TOO GOOD for the price, ofc it has some bugs.. BUT it has been in the market for around 3months so what can u expect

As I am disabled I'd need to find games where I am sitting / standing still, not moving around.
Weight, weight and weight. I have a Quest 2 even with a strap kit it’s still front heavy and not comfortable to use sitting for a long time. I have too a PSVR2 and although that’s heavier it can be worn longer. I’ve tried this device as buddy owns one and can say the weight and balance make it a winner, I’ll be getting one soon.

the Pico 4 128gb is about 20 euros cheaper than the Oculus Quest 2 also know as Meta quest 2. 128gb
one issue with the shops (new product like this) there should be minimum 1 set of them for people who want check them before purchase with argos is problem because you have 30 days for return but if you put them on head they will not accept any returns at apple or amazon this is normal you dont like it , you can send them back here not .
I had an Oculus Go and loved it. I'm looking for a new Stand Alone VR. I don't really think much of the games, they are more novelties, I prefer them as a private, pleasant space to consume media. The Go with better resolution and better battery life is exactly what I want. I liked the idea of a XReal/NReal but they can't be bought in the UK easily. I really want to plug a console, a phone, a PC into it.
So I was recommended the Pico 4. I'm worried that the resolution still won't make me happy (I want full HD or better) and that the next Quest is around the corner with some impressive specs, even if the privacy aspect and cancel culture is a huge turn off (literally in the case of the latter).
Would love some advice: what would you get for streaming, console screen, and environment?

This is my first time for VR and i had a good high end PC, i could buy Quest 3 or Pico 4. What should i buy for long term as PCVR (2024-etc)
Pico 4 since its cheaper and has the same resolution as the quest 3. Only difference is that the quest 3 is slightly better in the hardware side of things.

Buy from amazon jp if you're in the US. The yen is so weak right now that it's 50 bucks cheaper than a quest 2 even after shipping

One thing I wish someone could clarify to me.... I ´ve used my galaxy s20fe with google cardboard glasses , and I found it not very impressive, I can see even the lines of resoltuin, eveything is blurred and all
Ive never tried theses VR headsets. are they really waaaayy beter than my poor cellphone+cardboard glasses experience?

Personally I Hate the black shine that the Pico 4 has and would leave the white plastic on it if I owned one.
This is a high contender for me if I'm ever able to save up for a headset.

I was able to get extra money by autumn. So ended up with a Pico 3 Link.
It's standalone features are pretty fun.
But PCVR does have quite a few quirks to setup. I imagine Pico 4 is way better.
I should add my bottle neck for pc gaming is a 10+ year old video card.

Alright so can you pretty much get to the main menu and access files n whatnot without ever having to do anything on the mobile app? I'm thinking of becoming an early adopter via downloading an APK of the app on my set but there are already a number of hoops i'm gonna have to jump through in order to just get the set here, I want to make sure I can actually make it work instead of facing a massive disappointment...
